Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) is a rare blood disorder where blood clots form in small vessels, leading to low platelet counts and potential organ damage. It’s often linked to a severe deficiency in the ADAMTS13 enzyme, which was the case for you with a level of 2%, causing your platelets to drop dangerously below 8,000. The condition can lead to severe outcomes, including strokes, and requires immediate treatment, usually with plasma exchange and immunosuppressants. Fortunately, you survived after a challenging recovery period, including a coma and stroke.
