God of War Ragnarök is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released worldwide on November 9, 2022, for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It will be the ninth installment in the God of War series, the ninth chronologically, and the sequel to 2018's God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game will be set in ancient Scandinavia and feature series protagonist Kratos and his teenage son Atreus. Serving as the finale to the Norse era of the series, the game will cover Ragnarök, a series of events that bring about the end of days, and depicts the deaths of some of the Norse gods, which was foretold to happen in the previous game after Kratos killed the Æsir god Baldur.
Taking place three years following the events of the previous game, Fimbulwinter, a great winter that spans three summers, is drawing to a close which will begin the prophesied Ragnarök. Kratos and his teenage son Atreus begin to traverse the nine realms to seek out a means to prevent Ragnarök while attempting to uncover answers behind Atreus' identity as Loki. Their journey will lead them to Týr, the Norse God of War who was previously believed to be dead. Their conflict will lie with Thor, the Norse God of Thunder who seeks revenge following the deaths of his half-brother Baldur and two sons Modi and Magni; Odin, Thor's father and King of the Norse Gods; and ally-turned-enemy Freya, who seeks revenge following the death of her son Baldur.

@@salbonpensiero1704 Well a stranger in the sense that until he comes knocking on their door towards the beginning he'd literally never seen Atreus let alone spoke with him. Odin basically confirms this when Atreus gets to Asgard " I've given him no reason to trust me".

I kinda wanna see if maybe Kratos might end up going back to Greece if there is another game. Like there's some lesser known deity with enough of a grudge against him to pull him back there and Atreus has to go get him, and he learns more about his dad by seeing the aftermath of Kratos killing the gods and destroying it. And Athena has a part in it.

It's impressive that Thrud has such a level head on her shoulders, considering the family she grew up in. But I get the impression she was Thor's favorite, which probably granted her some protection from her brothers.

I think Atreus is just at that age.
Keep in mind that Thrúd and Angrboda are probably the only 2 girls around his age that he has ever met.
It really would be normal that he showed romantic interest for both at first. However, to Thrúd those feelings evolve towards respect and admiration for her, whereas he really emotionally connects with Angrboda.
It's really so simple, and it's kind of cute watching him getting infatuated by 2 really different kind of girls.

Thrud was never an option for Atreus. He likes her, but not in a romantic way. They are friends, and that's all. When mimir asks about her being the person he might like, Atreus quickly denies it and we know at the end of the game why. These questions are about angrboda.
He won't en up with Angrboða, she's only the mother of monsters but not Loki's true wife, Sigyn is.

How embarrassing. Ware talking about god of war, a game that changes any mythology. If you look for more information in dialogs or in what atreus wrote about angrboda, you will know that they will be endgame. Just accept. An official art of the two came out and there will be even more content in the artbook.
The fact that atreus calls her to go with him at the end of the game says a lot too. Even Kratos himself noticed that his son likes her and is worried that he didn't teach him about love. Does it bother you that atreus is going to end up with a black girl and not the standard white one?

There’s an end of game Easter egg I won’t spoil regarding Thrud, she’s pretty ballin’ and she isn’t bad at fighting when you’re with her in Helheim. It’d be cool to see her in another game.

Honestly, I think that if things had gone differently between Magni and Modi, Thrud could have been an eventual second love interest instead of a friend.
Magni and Modi would still need to be humbled by Kratos, but if Thor got the chance to reel them in time, it would have been funny seeing the two fathers bond over having troublesome kids

For some reason I wasn't expecting to like Thrud all that much. I got the feeling that she was going to be a little extra with her character in that "I'm a strong female because I'm strong," but no, she's a pretty fucking awesome. She grew on me so fast, as did the rest of them. All the characters in this story are so amazing. Even that piece of shit Heimdall is so entertaining to watch.

If your implying Angrboda, it’s pretty much fact the two will end of together; in Myth Angrboda was Loki’s first wife, but from my understanding though it was his first love it was short lived as they separated if I recalled. He than had two other marriages one involving a Fire Giant named Glut and finally Siygn who was the most loyal as she was with him when he was punished for Baldur’s death. She is well known for being the cup barer that would hold the venom dripping from a snake that tortured Loki. He was forever punished but by Sigyn she helped alleviate the pain for a moment.

Ngl I like Thrud more then angrboda. Also I like how Thrud's last name is thorsdottir. Viking Sons would have their fathers last name combined with son for a last name(example, Thorson) and viking daughters would have their fathers last name fallowed by their dottir(daughter)(example thorsdottir).

Ngl, I actually would've preferred him getting with Thrud. Angrboda is nice and helpful and all, but I always saw her as more of a spiritual guide, similar to how Týr is for Kratos.
There's something so unique about the interactions between Atreus and Thrud, kind of awkward and unsure, but always geniune and trying to be friendly and understanding to the other.
Plus, I love the idea of a Jotunn and an Aesir sharing an actual emotional bond for once, truly bringing an end to the era of their people's hatred for another.
And after literally being murdered by his own father, I think Thor would approve of her daughter choosing a new path different from his after listening to Atreus' views but ignoring them himself.
