I was just about to suggest that. If they still have their old furniture in there they can charge more than their rent for a furnished apartment. Also if they can get around it even throw it up in Airbnb. Move out sooner and make some extra income for those few months. I know lots of people who put their rented apartments on Airbnb. Not everyone owns those places on there.
@@1pinkalicious good idea! I just recently learned that renting an apartment and just putting it on Airbnb is a thing. People rent luxury apartments just to Airbnb them out. If you can sublease or Airbnb, get your coins just like the complex is trying to get theirs!
Suggestion: REALLY think about the white/cream couches and table chairs. If you plan on having them over a long period of time and plan on being able to chill and eat on the furniture, a light color may not be your best bet. Unless you are okay with having to constantly get it cleaned so it can look fresh and stainless. Life happens and guests spill. Love yall and I am so excited to see the finalized apartment look!
I had beautiful cream furniture, get it scotch guarded. My furniture looked brand new until I got married and gave it away to a relative, we had no room for it. I am not sure about your lease situation. Two people can't both be charged to live in the same place. I can't recall lease law from law school 14 yrs ago. Seek info from your States lease laws at local library/law library, realtor, or a friend who is an attorney. Also, was the writing in smaller print than the rest of the lease. Even more importantly, will you be spending a mortgage for rent, please consider buying a starter home soon. If your credit is good and you have at least 20% to pay down, it makes more since to buy and not throw money away on more rent. Just a thought. Best wishes to you and congrats on your engagement.

If you are leaving the apartment before the leasing agreement is up most apartments will charge you a fee for breaking the lease before the lease’s end date. For example, if you sign a one-year lease with your apartment they can charge you for moving before the one year end date and move someone else into your apartment unit after you pay that fee. Also most apartments do ask for the 60 day notice before you’re moving day. Not gonna lie I can understand the frustration because I didn’t know all of this until I was leaving my first apartment. It’s annoying but Josh is right read your leasing agreements it will save you from a lot of confusion and learning the hard way.

if your bobs furniture store has a scratch and dent side, I would recommend that! We have them here in Maryland and its brand new furniture but when it was delivered the customer decided they didnt want it or the box it may have came in was damaged. Ive gotten a few pieces from there and I loved them
The Glass table is really pretty 😍but it’s gonna be so hard to keep the finger prints off of it😫I hated that about our glass table..we would flip it over and clean the other side but somehow prints were always on it
Check your lease and see if they permit subletting. If you never heard of this basically you do the work in finding the tenant to take over your lease(it’s best if it’s someone you know) for the short time you have left in the lease. You’d still be legally responsible for the rent but you essentially become a landlord to the new tenant(which is why it’s best that you know them). They pay you the rent then you pay the actual apartment landlord. A lot of apartments permit this and it may save y’all a bit or even trying to AirBnB ir once y’all move out! Been through this same thing before and those two things save me a ton of money.

I really liked the bed at the first store! However a tip - (we just moved in February and I’m still furnishing my room 🙃) one of our neighbors bought a lot of her luxe finishings and accents off of Amazon! I was surprised, but for the style I think y’all are going for, I think you can find some nice things. And most are more affordable prices relative to the more boutique home furniture shops they’re inspired by. My personal favorite rich and luxe-ish vibes are either restoration hardware (more my mom than me, but very beautiful custom made pieces) or pottery barn haha

I bought my couch from Macy’s Furniture back in September. They allow custom fabric for no extra cost. But be sure about your purchase because the customization will require a 25% deposit. Unfortunately it’s almost Christmas and I’m still waiting for my couch lol. It was supposed to make it to their warehouse this week, but it got delayed to 12/21. Then I found out I wouldn’t be notified to schedule the delivery until about 10 business days after that.... so I won’t be getting my couch until 2021... so yes, buy now I’d you can lol

as someone who worked in property, it’s actually illegal for a rental company to charge double (charging 2 diff people rent for the same unit). if that’s really what they’re trying to do I’d say to consult an attorney in your area. It might not be that much in cost & can save you 3+ months of rent that you don’t need to spend.
if y’all are thinking long term, nude/white isn’t really the best way to go. And the marble table is better than the clear on imo just bc of how hard it is to clean a clear table (speaking from experience).
It is definitely illegal for your landlord to collect rent from you during any period in which the property is leased to another individual. You only have to pay for the months that the apt is left unoccupied. They are also required to actively seek new tenants and cannot just leave the place unrented in order to collect rent from you. You could hire an attorney or you could simply take them to small claims court to be reimbursed for rent paid when another person was also paying.

I would always recommend going to a habitat for humanity restore or thrift store for wooden furniture (night stands, tables, lamp stsnds) and even dishes like wine glasses & vases etc. They have unique antique pieces that make your space one of a kind.
My uncle’s apartment building did the same thing with his lease when he moved out, only difference is he has to pay the rent for there (and his new place) until they move a new person Into his old apartment. Leases are weird
Did you know that when you go to the store you can ask them if they have the same exact piece of furniture in a different color if they don’t have it in store then just order it online in the store

Most rental agreements are similar to that. If you break the lease you are still responsible to cover the amount for the entire timeframe. And I'm in Ohio.

Unfortunately it’s almost Christmas and I’m still waiting for my couch lol. It was supposed to make it to their warehouse this week, but it got delayed to 12/21. Then I found out I wouldn’t be notified to schedule the delivery until about 10 business days after that.... so I won’t be getting my couch until 2021... so yes, buy now I’d you can lol

as someone who worked in property, it’s actually illegal for a rental company to charge double (charging 2 diff people rent for the same unit). if that’s really what they’re trying to do I’d say to consult an attorney in your area. It might not be that much in cost & can save you 3+ months of rent that you don’t need to spend.
if y’all are thinking long term, nude/white isn’t really the best way to go. And the marble table is better than the clear on imo just bc of how hard it is to clean a clear table (speaking from experience).

It is definitely illegal for your landlord to collect rent from you during any period in which the property is leased to another individual. You only have to pay for the months that the apt is left unoccupied. They are also required to actively seek new tenants and cannot just leave the place unrented in order to collect rent from you. You could hire an attorney or you could simply take them to small claims court to be reimbursed for rent paid when another person was also paying.
