Well I honestly would say that those apartments you guys looked at were really nice but I think the best choice for y’all would be to get a townhome or a condo for the same prices that those apartment buildings are charging tenants. Think about it 🤔 💭 You two would have plenty of space in a townhome with like two or three bedrooms and maybe like 1.5 or two bathrooms for like a better price and maybe y’all could like go for a rent-to-own type of house. I don’t know, perhaps you guys might need to think about moving out to the suburbs but if you really want to stay in the city, that would be nice too because you have the convenience of having everything so close to where you live. I mean, that is what my significant other and I are looking for right now especially if we trying to have plenty of space to expand our family, God willing. I use to live in Chi-town!!! Another food for thought... it’s like basically if you guys don’t see people that look like you guys and you don’t feel welcome in that apartment building or complex or community then you should not even be putting your money and effort into that because it’s not supporting anyone that does look like you and honestly it’s just bad vibes you know. You can be authentic and enjoy yourself when your not worried about the realtors feelings and know how to handle business. They gon be fine.

I think that’s how those Chicago apartments are, even the ones by Logan square or wicker park. The neighborhood is mixed but the buildings are mainly occupied with you know who.
Tbh you should consider buying with your budget. And you should look into buying in the West Loop. It’s much younger, more lively, ethnic, and the nightlife and what they have to offer 20 somethings is much better than downtown. It’s a tech hub as well. Also, if you purchased rather than rented, you could live there for a few years, and once the renting market bounces back from Covid, you could rent it out and have an investment property. I know the downtown high-rises with amazing views and tall windows and all white aesthetic may go with the direction of your brand for content, however there are many more business-savvy options

I like the second building more even though it not as spacious I feel like the vibe was better and that’s important bc you will be living for like a year or more! Also the view looks better because it gives you a overview of the city while the other one is facing other buildings! It’s also closer to the city so you will be around your peers and fun activities!
Quick advice when you are looking for a place to move in open all the cabinet and see inside them and look at the doors because some times they make it poorly or it is easy to break after time so you should consider that too

The three bedroom in the first apartment complex was really nice and the penthouse in the second apartment complex was the best overall in my opinion, especially considering the vibes in the first apartments
If y'all are looking for a nice luxury apartment, I would look in Hyde Park or Lakeview especially because the apartments aren't passing the vibe check. Maybe it just me because I hated living in downtown when I first moved here last year, but I think you get a better bang for your buck (and vibe) outside of Downtown Chicago. I found a large renovated 1-BR here in Edgewater for about $1700 w/ parking and heat. It's not luxury (just premium), but the building and the neighborhood passed the vibe check.

The second property the penthouse had more space, the views from the fitness room was out of this world but there was still something 'missing'. Try out the Hyde Park Neighborhood. You'd still have semi-high rise/luxury buildings, lake views, and you'll definitely have more people that look like you, plus it's a great area (basically like a city within the city lol) happy hunting :-)
I’m so happy for you guys!!! I already know you guys will do your research and make a smart choice. The views of the first apartment were spectacular but the vibe is a no for me. You definitely need to be comfortable we’re you pay your bread and lay your head.
I know where those buildings are at. I prefer the second one because of the location and you can sense better energy.

Fav apt definitely the last! But the amenities from first was very nice. *something to keep in mind too is the sturdyness of the closet, them metal ones from the first is kinda fragile 🤔

The 2nd apartment was amazing and I agree having the right vibe and seeing people like us is comforting. How are you guys looking for apartments is there a certain website you guys looked at? I’ve hear horror stories of people getting scammed looking at apartments in certain sites especially some places are only doing virtual tours

The three bedroom in the first apartment complex was really nice and the penthouse in the second apartment complex was the best overall in my opinion, especially considering the vibes in the first apartments
If y'all are looking for a nice luxury apartment, I would look in Hyde Park or Lakeview especially because the apartments aren't passing the vibe check. Maybe it just me because I hated living in downtown when I first moved here last year, but I think you get a better bang for your buck (and vibe) outside of Downtown Chicago. I found a large renovated 1-BR here in Edgewater for about $1700 w/ parking and heat. It's not luxury (just premium), but the building and the neighborhood passed the vibe check.

The 3 bed in the first viewing was so nice, but if you weren't feeling the vibe, its not worth it. The second property the penthouse had more space, the views from the fitness room was out of this world but there was still something 'missing'. Keep up the search...your gut will tell you this is the one when you see it.
