Hey, friends! Hope you enjoyed today's video about "How Much A Cardiologist Makes". Take advantage of all my favorite med school tips and tricks in this free guide here! (themdjourney.com/med-school-success-handbook/)
hi thanks for all the videos you make man! I really hope to see more about your life as a fellow man! I feel like you've made me so much more interested in this field than I ever was before, especially with learning about the sheer number of opportunities in the field! (also wanted to point out the 300k mistake at 8:44)
Damn the Interventional Cardiologists are almost up there with the Ortho and Neurosurgeons. I'll probably end up in Internal Medicine but would love to go down the same path as you.
Nice, Wondering do you have any experience into Cardio Thoracic Anesthesia? Working with them maybe? I would like to be one, currently a second year med student.
Oh wow idk why I thought EPs were making more than IVC. Thanks for this video! Glad to see general cardiologists making good money too. Do you have any videos regarding matching into cardiology?
I love your videos for the dedication and enthusiasm you share with us... I'm not in Medicine but i belive in dedication and give the best you got to the work or task you do. i know its a foreign concept these days. BTW I live in N.Texas.
That was very good advice. I was offered opportunities in other areas that would undoubtedly have paid very handsomely and yet would also have been boring at best. I loved cardiology and was recognized by my colleagues as having been very good at it. My pts. included several med. school professors, one med. sch. dean, other distinguished people, etc. I taught CV medicine almost every day and that was very personally rewarding (as well as being required by the Hippocratic Oath). My income was 3-4x the numbers you gave. That enabled me to treat large numbers of pts. with no cost to them (free or assignment) and could even often supply medications as well. I found that part of my practice very gratifying. Don't go into medicine/surgery for the money. Or if your personal integrity is easily challenged. Do it only because you absolutely love it, can devote all of your energy to it and can work every day to continually improve your skills.
If you go in the the webpage/ application page of a residency or fellowship program it will list this year's salaries of all years of their residents and fellows. Usually every year there is a 3-5% raise to cover inflation so is you are a first year fellow making 60K and the 2nd year resident makes 62K now, nest year when you are the 2nd year resident you will peobably make around 64-65K. The % raise and the actual numbers will vary from program to program of course. There is a lot more space for negotiations in an attending salary so they are not as clear cut.

Not the anesthesia part. CT surgery yes since we work a lot with CABG pts
CT surgeons and other anesthesiologists will likely have more exposure to CT Anesthesiologists.
@gowrishvaka6356, where are you going to school :)
r/medscool is a really good resource,

silly cat ... Go make a meme
The more specialized and in-demand your specialty is, the more money you can make. It comes down to supply and demand.
what about private practice?
These numbers include averages for private. Academics tend to make less.
