Enjoying your videos. Please I am in the beginning stages of making my home start . Haven’t even lived in the newly bought house yet.. there soo guy recommend I use and put this Melrose? Also what smart door bell do you recommend for U.K. users easily compatible with HomeKit? Thanks
Hi @DavidLoveJanet, thanks for the comment, glad you like the videos! I would recommend the Meross Smart Plugs, there are a cost effective way of getting HomeKit compatible smart plugs. I'm using mine to control a couple of lamps in my lounge. Regarding doorbells, I have a Ring Pro doorbell which works very well but is not natively compatible with HomeKit. If I was buying a new doorbell now I would be very tempted with the Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell. I haven't used one before, but the reviews seem to be good and it natively supports HomeKit. Hope this helps, good luck with the new house!
I've just tested this. The app makes it look like you can turn off the LEDs as there is an on/off type button next to the word LED in the settings dialog. However, when I tried to test this it doesn't appear to do anything. Even with LED turned off in the settings the LEDs on the extension lead are still on. I'll keep testing and will post another reply if I find something.
Yeah, firmware was the first thing I checked. The app is reporting that everything is up to date. I’m going to try rebooting the extension lead, but I can’t do that at the moment as everything connected to it will be turned off which will get me in a lot of trouble with the family. 😀
Hi Roy - correct, each socket is limited to 10A, so this power strip wouldn't be suitable for an appliance that requires more than 2.4kW. Unfortunately the choice in the UK is limited at the moment, I don't believe there are any other natively HomeKit compatible UK power strips available. It's definitely important to consider this limitation before purchasing. Fortunately for me I'm only using mine with a couple of table lights. Using this power strip along with a Hue light switch is allowing us to turn on/off these table lamps with the main lights in our lounge.
I just ordered mine I want to add this to my Apple HomeKit can’t wait to use it?

Does the Meross app allow you turn off the power LEDs?

@@ianburgess525 Thanks for looking into that, Ian! Maybe a firmware update needed?

I wouldn’t use it for any devices that can use high load. It’s rated for only 10A right? I’d rather go with a 13A device.
