In addition, (might be me trying to force this narrative on it but I don’t think so) the animation follows the general history of television. That edit with Moscow and Morgan representing Vaggie and Angel wanting to murder Sir Pentious meanwhile Elijah (Charlie) wanting to choose the more peaceful option was genius! Everything about stayed gone is such a bop to me. From the pettiness of Vox, the story telling, the lyrics, the beat, the pure raw character behind the lyrics, and the instrumental complimenting the lyrics just makes this a bop
I loved this episode a lot more than episode 1 it’s sm fun seeing the three Vee’s I love me some villains and Vox is my favorite of the 3 from his design, his va is great, and personality is *chefs kiss*. His duet with Alastor is also great it’s like old Disney songs where two villains fight for the spotlight which I love. Pentious I love as well he’s a goofball who probably has done some heinous things in his human life but he’s a lovable goofball.
One thing that EVERYONE is apparently ignoring is that Valentino said "ALMOST beat/defeated you" it could be interpreted that either Vox was powerful enough to fight and win againts Alastor(probably barely), or that either Vox was about to loose but something happened (either he ran away or Al stopped caring) and then Al disappeared, it's just a fun bit of info everyone ignores sadly
9:15 So, in the first episode, we learned that it's been seven years since Charlie has seen her mother and seven years since the radio demon has vanished? That can't be a coincidence, right?
My theory is that Alastor has something to do with Charlie's mom. Charlie hadn't heard from her mom in 7 years, Alastor was gone for 7 years then just happens to show up at the hotel wanting to help. That's my current guess at the moment lol.
“Aww, she hurt Angel’s feelings..” Yes, Charlie is breaking through Angel’s barriers gradually… Sits and smiles to myself thinking “Episode 4 will be quite …fun…” it’s really going to hit Elijah in the feels hard… ;) and with the reveal about the past history of one of the Hazbin people…
8:51 remember sinners can’t die unless by a holy weapon. So Alastor can’t kill him even if he wants to. That is why Velvet was pissed Val butchered her best model, cuz Velvet has to wait for her model to literally pull herself together
The minute I saw Vox, something told me he knew Alastor. Then I start to remember what Alastor said about his disdain for TV broadcasting and how radio is the more superior medium. This is gonna be interesting! 😏
I think the song Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles fits with the situation between Vox and Alastor better I recommend you give the song a listen and you’ll see why
Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles was the first song ever played on MTV, and was a huge hit in the 80's (and the 90's again when Presidents of the United States of America covered it.) In fact I just saw the Buggles on tour last year!
For the title, there is an old song called "Video killed the radio star" and it's about how tv ruined a popular radio star! I thought that was a cool reference!
19:06 I love this little detail where he’s talking in his “Viewer approved ’nice’ voice” all the time but then with his laugh it went to his real/deeper voice.
8:40 It actually makes sense. As we know, Alastor feels entertained when seeing someone struggling and then failing. So watching Sir Pentious attempts of murdering him, actually pleasures him. That's why he never kills him.
Video Killed The Radio Star is a famous phrase irl, not just a reference to a song. It references the rise of Television, and it taking the place of household radios, and such. So the reversal of the phrase may reference how much stronger Alistor is than Vox~ Which may be do to the fact that TV and everything still has to make use of Radio Waves, and there for is still within Alistor's dominion? Just a fun theory~
Elijah: "I dunno why Charlie's so much taller than Vaggie... Maybe because she's part Angel, and they're tall??" Everyone who's already watched the rest: "UUUHHHHHHHH... About that??"
IM SO HYPED FOR THIS REACTION, the second episode was amazing spoilers ???? idk not really I KEPT REPLAYING THE SONG IN EP2 BROOO, the songs are amazing ive also watched the first 4 episodes two times already, im especially hyped to see her reaction to episode 4 this is so amazing
10:30 I have a theory (a film theory) about this... wherever/whatever was going on had to do with Lillith. No one has seen Lillith in 7 years and Alastor was gone for 7 years as well. I am under the assumption it is related
In 'Overture', Charlie said she hadn't heard from her mom in 7 years And in this episode, Vox said Alastor was also gone for 7 years. Those have to be linked somehow, there is no way it isn't
The reason Alastor doesn't kill Sir Pencious is because he can't. Sinner souls are effectively immortal. The only way they can truly die is with angelic weapons. That's one of the reasons for the extermination. Another fun fact, Vaggie's spear is an angelic spear.
@@lorenapacora1526 it's actually one of the plot holes (or at least something not explained wery well). Sinners come back in a day or so if they are killed by norman means. It's unclear what they do: try to recover old territory, or search for a new one, or lay low ets. It was also implied that to get rid of someone for sure demons use angelic weapons
Bro imagine in the last episode everyone goes to heaven but because Charlie is Lucifer’s daughter she has to stay in hell (by everyone I mean like angel, vaggie, Husker, Alestor)
18:42 honestly I would have never guessed she was the Charlie after watching her review of Helluva Boss 2x7 when she was yelling for Blitz to kill that toxic fanboy lol. But I get it
Vox is played by one of my fave Broadway actors, Christian Borle, so I'm glad he got to sing in his first appearance! I've seen him live 4 or 5 times. He's probably best known outside Broadway for being in the TV show Smash, but I think his most internet-famous role is probably as Marvin in the revival of Falsettos (which stars a gay couple and features a lesbian couple, Elijah, so you might appreciate it? Though it's quite sad?), followed by his role as Emmett in the Legally Blonde musical. He's also hilarious as Shakespeare in Something Rotten, look up "It's Hard to Be the Bard" for a taste of that madness.
I have a little theory. Since both Lilith AND Alastor were both gone for seven years. At the same time, isn't that wired? So I believe that they made a deal! Maybe it has to deal with Charlie? Maybe that's why he wanted to "help" out Charlie and the real reason why he's there. Also, I just realized how Alators does a handshake to make a deal. It reminds me of Dr. Facilier in the princess and the frog. How he said., "Come on boys won't you shake a poor sinners hand?" I just realized that 😂😂
The screach of the widigo before throwing out snake man is perfect for alastor especially how he eats dear even if he is a dear, this show is so flipin good
14:18 - "Not many people have been able to take even this much off me" Was... was that an innuendo? This may be the closest Alastor ever gets to flirting.
Building off of your comment about Vox and Alastor having opposite colour schemes, something I also noticed about this is the fact that Vox also has some red in his outfit and colour palette, showing the fact that Vox's power over televisions and electricity requires radio waves to broadcast, and so he has some of Alastor's colours too because he does still need to rely on radio waves. In contrast, Alastor's palette is pretty much just red, aside from some greys and blacks, representing that Alastor doesn't need anything other than his own power and control to broadcast, while Vox needs to rely on radio waves to broadcast, whether he wants that or not. This contrast is something really interesting to look at and really highlights some of the subtler differences and parts of the rivalry between them, and are some really cool details added (even if it wasn't purposeful, but seeing how Viv and the team like using colours, I doubt it was an accident)
I just love how they captured Alastor so well just this unimaginable raw power seems so impossible and makes me think how powerful the other overlords must be if Alastor is lower than some others. It just wreaks of fear how much power there is.

Her giving Sir Pentious another chance and trying to help him see that he can get what he wants by acknowledging what he's done wrong and by trying to be a better person is beautiful.
That edit with Moscow and Morgan representing Vaggie and Angel wanting to murder Sir Pentious meanwhile Elijah (Charlie) wanting to choose the more peaceful option was genius! XD
Also, idk how the rest of the fanbase feels about him yet but I kinda have a soft spot for Sir Pentious in the show so far. Idk, I just love his voice and all the cute facial expressions he makes. When he and Charlie were singing that sorry song, I legitimately wanted to hug him!
SAME, I absolutely love himmmmmm
He's so babygirl. 🥹
Sammmmeeee, he is voiced by the same guy as Fizz is voiced by, and I love the crap out of him. I’m also kinda a fan of Adam too, like as a villain, he just is egotistical and fun. Alex Brightman does a pretty good job of making me like characters.
Reminds me of Papyrus! He feels the need to showcase his power but really if he showed his vulnerable side he could be a fun person to hang out with :)
I’m actually excited to see Sir Pentious’ redemption just as much as Angeldust!
I bet Morgan and Moscow hates Sir Pentious but they don't know that he's being mistreated while trying his best- poor snake, he deserves better :c
Charlie’s bed head is the most adorable look ever🥹🥹
Yes! She is adorable!
PLEASE LIKE SO ELIJAH CAN SEE THIS!!
The reason you (probably) can’t record or stream the episodes is because of something your browser has called “Hardware Acceleration”, most browsers has some option to turn it off somewhere, you just have to check! This is why streaming it on discord or other softwares results in a black screen instead of the episode.
Elijah - "I'm not looking forward to seeing the relationship between Valentino and Angel."
Me - *Laughs in episode 4*
Someone pointed something INTERESTING out: Lilith hasn't been heard from by Charlie in 7 years and Alastor wasn't seen for 7 years
Coincidence? I think not!
Similar to the number of the seven deadly sins, definitely not a coincidence.
Okay this is really sus don't you think?
Alastor DELIVERED and I am here for it! 🥰
The edit where Mosco is Vaggie, Morgan is Angel Dust, and Elijah is Charlie is super hilarious!!! LOL!!! XDXD
Agreed I was laughing so hard when I saw that
Hm, I see, so is that a accurate depiction of their dynamic then?
@@johanstenfelt1206 I wanna say yes I’m just not 100% sure if it is
@@Khfan870 hm, I see, so Morgan is Angel Dust then?
I just know that sooner or later, I'm gonna hate myself for how much I love Alastor as a character
The edit of Mosco and Morgan as Vaggie and Angel for the song was too funny
I mean it’s fitting since they’re pretty violent
Charlie doing the puppy dog eyes towards Vaggie is so cute!!!
Are they talking about a fight or something else, though?
I'm so impressed by Alex Brightman's voice acting as Sir Pentiious, he sound so different from Pugsley in Dead End
he has an amazing vocal range
He also voices Adam and Fizzarolli from Helluva boss!
Boy if you don't like Valentino, now. Your gonna wanna strangle this character by episode 4. Episode 4 does get a little intense
I really love that song "Sorry" by Charlie. She's such a sweetheart!!! Also, I'm so happy that Pentious is staying in the Hotel.
6:38 anyone notice when Valentino said "who else would i be talking about" vox pointed at himself 😭
No 😭
no,no,NO!!😭
Charlie is so full of love and positive energy, and Vaggie loves her for that!!!
8:13 Red vs Blue will always be an awesome dynamic
“Aww, she hurt Angel’s feelings..”
Yes, Charlie is breaking through Angel’s barriers gradually…
Sits and smiles to myself thinking “Episode 4 will be quite …fun…” it’s really going to hit Elijah in the feels hard… ;) and with the reveal about the past history of one of the Hazbin people…
So exited to see Elijah’s reaction to this one
Keep in mind, Alastor was gone for 7 years and Charlie said she hasn't heard from her mom in 7 years. Coincidence? I think not.
Alastors owner is either roo (a character we never seen yet) or Lilith
8:51 remember sinners can’t die unless by a holy weapon. So Alastor can’t kill him even if he wants to. That is why Velvet was pissed Val butchered her best model, cuz Velvet has to wait for her model to literally pull herself together
They can be killed but not permanently, they'll respawn in Hell later.
I Love the Alastor and Vox Conflict so much. And Vox might be my favorite character 😊
Me: **Watches Hazbin Hotel Episode 2**
Vox: “WELCOME-“
Me: “To The Internet?!”
Vox: “HOME!”
Me: “oh..”
The minute I saw Vox, something told me he knew Alastor. Then I start to remember what Alastor said about his disdain for TV broadcasting and how radio is the more superior medium. This is gonna be interesting! 😏
I like how you can pick up every tiny details in every scenes! love watching your reaction.
13:46
This scene made me really sad and empathize with angel dust bht I laughed so hard at your "FEEELIINGSS'
My name is Anthro
👏🏻👏🏻
I like animation
👏🏻👏🏻
And all my favourite shows give me a variety of sensations
👏🏻👏🏻
Nice one!
I think the song Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles fits with the situation between Vox and Alastor better
I recommend you give the song a listen and you’ll see why
Video Killed The Radio Star by The Buggles was the first song ever played on MTV, and was a huge hit in the 80's (and the 90's again when Presidents of the United States of America covered it.) In fact I just saw the Buggles on tour last year!
13:38 is litterally me whenever a friend says "I have no friends" 😂🤣
For the title, there is an old song called "Video killed the radio star" and it's about how tv ruined a popular radio star! I thought that was a cool reference!
0:38 Video Killed the Radio Star is a song by The Buggles that released in 1979…
19:06 I love this little detail where he’s talking in his “Viewer approved ’nice’ voice” all the time but then with his laugh it went to his real/deeper voice.
Alastor is the funniest character ever, and I really love his true demon form, along with that laugh in the end!!! He's so cool and badass!!!
Fun Fact: Alex Brightman is the voice actor for Pentious, who also voiced Fizzarolli from Helluva Boss and Temeluchus from Dead End Paranormal Park.
He was also Adam last episode.
That’s so fast,two reaction in a two days,thank you for that!❤️
8:40 It actually makes sense. As we know, Alastor feels entertained when seeing someone struggling and then failing. So watching Sir Pentious attempts of murdering him, actually pleasures him. That's why he never kills him.
Did anyone else notice the sound queue from that one Wendigo game at 8:31? 👀👀👀 nice reference!
Video Killed The Radio Star is a famous phrase irl, not just a reference to a song. It references the rise of Television, and it taking the place of household radios, and such.
So the reversal of the phrase may reference how much stronger Alistor is than Vox~
Which may be do to the fact that TV and everything still has to make use of Radio Waves, and there for is still within Alistor's dominion?
Just a fun theory~
This episode is great for the interplay and hints at their history. Episode 3 is some lore dump.
Angel and Pentious role playing was super funny!! I couldn't stop laughing!!!!
Elijah: "I dunno why Charlie's so much taller than Vaggie... Maybe because she's part Angel, and they're tall??"
Everyone who's already watched the rest: "UUUHHHHHHHH... About that??"
Need to be mentally prepared for the fourth episode. I understand how difficult it will be for her... I hope this doesn't sound like a spoiler
8:05 🎶HEY MAN, LOOK AT ME ROCKING OUT. IM ON THE RADIIOOOOO🎶
“Radio Killed the Video Star”
Perfect headline for the best song yet on this show.
Did ya see “Loser, Baby”??? It’s Angel dust and Husk!!!!! I’m so happy
DUDE SPOILERS
SH SH SH! no spoilers 😂
I did dude but no Spoilers 😂
I've seen all four episodes that have been released and I was not disappointed. They just kept getting better.
IM SO HYPED FOR THIS REACTION, the second episode was amazing
spoilers ???? idk not really
I KEPT REPLAYING THE SONG IN EP2 BROOO, the songs are amazing
ive also watched the first 4 episodes two times already, im especially hyped to see her reaction to episode 4 this is so amazing
10:30 I have a theory (a film theory) about this... wherever/whatever was going on had to do with Lillith. No one has seen Lillith in 7 years and Alastor was gone for 7 years as well. I am under the assumption it is related
0:30 I remembered that as soon as I heard the episode title. Though, I don’t think that Radio Play is a canon song, *but that can change.*
Fun fact at 7:21 It seems like the lights were turned up by Vox so Val would pay attention to him since Val’s a moth demon👍
In 'Overture', Charlie said she hadn't heard from her mom in 7 years
And in this episode, Vox said Alastor was also gone for 7 years.
Those have to be linked somehow, there is no way it isn't
I think so too
What if they're secretly working together?
Can't wait for you to see episode 4. That one is incredible.
The reason Alastor doesn't kill Sir Pencious is because he can't. Sinner souls are effectively immortal. The only way they can truly die is with angelic weapons. That's one of the reasons for the extermination. Another fun fact, Vaggie's spear is an angelic spear.
sinners can definitely be killed. thats why sinners kill each other for territory
13:10 I can't stop laughing at how Angel delivered that line!
“Video Killed the Radio Star” was the very first music video to be aired on MTV’s debut.
This is why my favorite is Alastor he is just like "Ok i dont care" and his bad side is so creepy.
These songs are all slam dunks. I am very excited for how you react to episode 3's songs, as they are top tier in my opinion.
How he said., "Come on boys won't you shake a poor sinners hand?" I just realized that 😂😂
The screach of the widigo before throwing out snake man is perfect for alastor especially how he eats dear even if he is a dear, this show is so flipin good
14:18 - "Not many people have been able to take even this much off me"
Was... was that an innuendo?
10:22 There were Egyptian sinner demons who looked so cool!!
I just love how they captured Alastor so well just this unimaginable raw power seems so impossible and makes me think how powerful the other overlords must be if Alastor is lower than some others. It just wreaks of fear how much power there is.
17:45 the little rainbow of rings is actually sorta like a map of the rings of hell
Vox can never catch a break when squaring off against Alastor.
Radio VS Video. It’s the war against entertainment mediums!
Video should win tho but I like Alastor more
Fantastic reaction as all ways Elijah just live how u analysis everything perfect great job 😊
Whenever Elijah is being overly excited, my heart just melts
“Try get camilla on the books” this slight confirms my beleif vox recruits tech based overlords so he can own the tech industry
In fairness she's the best weapons manufacturer, even Moxxie gushed over her weapons back in Helluva Boss season 1 when they were visiting Wrath for the first time and he saw Striker's angelic sniper rifle. That rifle was a Carmella design.
Elijah: first angel! Now Charlie!?
People who saw episode 4: …. Uh oh.
15:47 😂❤*fat nuggets is cute*
I love Alastor's cup named "Oh deer!
