    John,
Fantastic tutorial on this great Gadd groove, the patterns are setup in a very simplistic way .
Finally you lay down this beat with a beautiful feel and a great sound on the kit.

Small steps are good. When trying to digest too much information at once, your mind will simply reject it. Simply take your time and enjoy the journey.

The snare accents are on the and of two in measures one and two. See it written out at 3:11. Each measure is counted: 1and, 2 and, 3and, 4and. The 8th notes are written in 4 note groupings with 2 four note groupings in each bar. Hope this helps.

OK, I’m a fan, I love this groove and you put so much technique and flavor to it, when you are showcasing examples of the bass drum and even different accents on the left hand, it does not even sound like the same groove as from earlier in the video because you put so much technique and richness on this groove
I have only started listening to this a short time ago, so I definitely have a long way to go, but I am a huge fan thank you so much for this video

The accents make all the difference. They give the groove the correct feel. Thank you for your comment. Please share, like and watch some of my other videos. I'm sure you will find them helpful.

The quality of the drumming is on a very high level, explaining how a 7-year-old video is as fresh as the day it was made. Will check out your other videos as I am very impressed, to say the least.

This is a very good lesson. I am quite impressed with the explanation of the various parts and it makes what sounds like a complicated, busy, pattern, much easier to understand. Thanks.
