Great vid, very imformative! Im confused by what you said about samba vs bosa. You made it sound like samba is the same pattern, but in but time. But, the rimshot pattern totally different. Also, while I desitate to disagree with Bernard Purdie, It goes a full 4 beats before repeating, so I dont see why it makes sense to feel or think of it as cut time.
May want to mention you are demonstrating ballroom rumba instead of the cuban folk style, as that is the original music referred to as rumba and the style you played was misnamed in the early 20th century in America.
