- An NHS hospital has told staff not to describe babies as “born male or female” and instead use “assigned female or male at birth”.
Director of Advocacy at Sex Matters, Helen Joyce, joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss the story.
"This is an obsession with language as a substitute for actually doing things that help people,” she says.

This is utter claptrap. There are certain conditions which only affect males or females. If this rubbish is allowed to continue, then babies may be misdiagnosed and could suffer significant harm. Utterly ridiculous policy.

Sadly, we have to recognise the ideologies being peddled by many at the top of our professional bodies. This may seem almost innocent but it hides a VERY dark direction via a philosophy looking to create a world where 'anything goes' (esp. for the powerful!). Dig deeper and work out where they REALLY want to go with all this 'freedom' / lack of sexual definitions / perameters ... ; )

OMG, on their website they refer to birthing people and people of child bearing age. Is there no end to this nonsense. If there is one place that biological sex matters, it is maternity services in a hospital. This nonsense must stop.
We women are a dirty word....the TRAs have meltdowns at the mention of our existance. Solution is easy, dont play the game, stand firm ,dont back down...in otherwords we all need to revolt.. .Its like my husband being asked if he could be pregnant....male and 70yrs old. Mother gives birth.." What sex is my new born baby?"......Midwife.."Don't know, need to wait until it's five to see what it decides". Fkn preposterous.
Meanwhile, my local hospital sent my father home without telling us (He has dementia and now can not walk) First we new about it was from the warden, who phoned us saying an ambulance is out side and are trying to get into his property, they had no keys, later that day we had the carers who were arranged by the hospital phoning us, asking us what are they supposed to do, since there no equipment in place to help them help him. Yep he ended up back in hospital and they have tried 2 more times to send him home, they will lie to you, which seems to be the hospitals standard procedure - (Your farther can walk) NOPE - other hospital staff and doctor have informed us he can no longer walk (Your father does not need any equipment in place like a hospital bed, lifting equipment, portable toilet etc). Yes he does. How bad is it when a hospital arranges for a loved one to go home, but do not put anything in place for them. Plus then you are the one with no real knowledge on how things work, trying to sort it out.
It never used to be like this. A full assessment and equipment and support services had to be done for anyone vulnerable, and discussed and agreed with their families. Now the loonies in charge are busier using resources to update woke rubbish.

I recently completed a survey for the NHS, when I came to the question of gender the options were,
Female ( including transgender female)
Male ( including transgender male)
Non binary including Agender & gueer gender
Prefer not to say.

That's completely inaccurate... no one is assigned their sex type gender .... they are observed... and that observation in today's hospitals is normally observed during the ultrasound scan ... and most mothers ask for photos of said observation.. as for the word gay ... that word used to mean happy in a flamboyant way ..

Some hospitals do , in case the child is the " wrong " gender , some prefer boys so girls can sometimes be aborted for no other reason , then they are female.
Re transgender athletes. If the criteria for deciding whether a man is a woman etc goes by what sex they were born into then that is definite and must be adhered to. This hospital has obviously foreseen this and has set out to muddy these waters as well.

I was actually initially assigned MALE! By my mother. Who, while carrying me, thought I was going to be a boy. She’d even picked out a male name for me, and everything! And bought some BLUE things, I think! (Being GC / feminist, current me finds it silly that she could not just use those, ANYWAY. But oh well. 😛) Then when I did come into this world, and people got to see me for the first time, the doctors totes arbitrarily assigned me FEMALE, instead! And there was clearly, like, absolutely NO reason for that! Totes arbitrary! Me thinks there had already been too many boys born that day… I mean, I bleed every month now, and everything. But I have no idea why THAT is, either!!! It has clearly got NOTHING whatsoever to do with why I was “assigned female”. Nor does my vulva, or the lack of one of dem rods. 😝
(Sincerely: shoulda been assigned “sarcastic TERF” at birth! And then probably banned from the hospital, so as not to accidentally unalive all of the other poor little babbies. 😛)
