Listening to this in bed after a long day. Even if I wasnt born at the time. It made me feel like I was transported to the 80's. Classic leather jackets, motor bikes, neon lights, gas stations, disk jockeys, somewhat still comon discos, neat hair styles, classic High School stereotypes. All of it! (Just realized this sounds a lot like the 50's when removing the discos and motorbikes. And leather jackets.)
@The 8 Track Master go to Pennsylvania then! You won't regret it, plus you have to quarantine there for 2 weeks so you get an extra 2 weeks back at home.
The keyboards involved are a Roland Juno-60 for leads and pads, Yamaha DX7 for bass, arps and additional drums, and PPG Wave for layering the leads and pads, all sequenced on UMI 2B MIDI software for the BBC Micro.

Yeah I know, But I heard someplace that some percussive elements are recorded from a yamaha dX7, The main Kick, Snare And hats are LinnDrums. But they are layered with some DX7 Elements I (think atleast). Also there are some breath sounds in there also, But I'm not shure where they are from, maybe a sample from a library or recorded by Mags, pål/paul og Harket themselves. Still is a great composition though!
only dx-7 percussive sounds on this song is the kick sound heard behind the main riff in the cente of the song before the linn comes back in - dont think theres any breath sounds
This makes you realize how much work and how many instruments there are behind 80s songs like this
Very complicated
The lead sound comprised of 3 to 4 layers. leads and bells
3 different pads :dark , air atmospheric, and sparkling pad
Power of the Yamaha DX7 and the Roland Juno 60!
the ppg wave sounds great in it too
@@matiasmartinez7208 yeah, love that one too, probably my favorite digital synth of all time!
@@l0riz624I think it’s mainly PPG and good ole Juno here
That 6-note synth riff from 2:08 - 2:13 is simply sublime. Dead simple, but conveys so much feeling.
For a long time my favorite part of the arrangement has been the little fanfare at 3:27

@@80ssynthfan48 Yep. Some producers took advantage of it before the ST and Pro Tools. Even Vince Clarke used it for his Erasure days.
