    Why can't we apply plane of symmetry in xz plane in bf3??

      U can pass the sigma plane with xz axis ofcourse but it is sigma-v and we know that sigma-h gets more preference over sigma-v. So the point grp is D3h.

      The H present in boric acid dont maintain the eqv structure when we do a C2(x or y) symmetry operation...thats why C2 is eliminated here in boric acid.

    Sir in the last example of Ti complex the point group did not get affected due to JT and it was like finding point group for perfect octahedral structure but why you mentioned JT distortion please explain? I'm confused.

    hello sir
    at 27.15 , what i think is only principle axis decide the C2 axis
    for example if prnciple axis is Cn then C2 axis is nC2...i.e if principle axis is C4 then C2 is 4C2..
    is am right or it is valid for all C2

    Sir..I wanted to know that in csir june 2017 the negative marking for part a and b was 50%.M i right or wrong because in a notification i saw it was 25%.
