Day Tours from Taipei (Beitou, Wuji Tianyuan, Tamsui, Shifen)

With a wide network of metro, bus, and train, its easy to do day tours outside of Taipei's city center.
Just a bus or metro away is Beitou district, known for its hotsprings. Aside from enjoying a hot bath, there are many sites to see in Beitou such as the Beitou Heritage Museum, Hot Spring Museum, Beitou Library, and Thermal Valley.
From Tamsui MRT Station, ride a bus going to Wuji Tianyuan Temple and be fascinated with its grand pagoda. Climb the pagoda to see the view of the mountains and communities surrounding the temple.
Just a few walk from the Tamsui MRT Station is Tamsui Golden Riverside and Tamsui Old Street. Aside from being able to try various street food, one can enjoy and relax in a very scenic park with a great view of a river and a mountain.
Ride the train to visit Shifen. A few minutes of walk from the Shifen train station, one can do an easy hike to see the Shifen waterfall. There are also some food stalls along the way. Before leaving Shifen, make sure to fly your own sky lantern with your wishes in Shifen Old Street.
Aside from enjoying the city, Taipei also offers a great countryside experience for its visitors.
