It seems that you used Cairo-alexandria agriculure road, its long road and because of the farms on it it will be very foggy and not good,if you use the cairo-alex desert road it will be much better and faster, enjoy your time 😉👏
Actually that was my plan, and why I was near Sheikh Zayed, I was headed towards the Alexandria Desert Road. That is where I encountered the fog. Then for some reason Google gave me a detour (the exit I needed to take was closed off with construction stuff blocking the exit-I still don't know what happened or why Google re-routed me) and sent me BACK towards Cairo, to the Ring Road, and then to the Agricultural Road. So yeah, I wanted to take the Desert Road to Alex from the very beginning, but for some reason I was sent in a different direction. It's in Marsa Matruh. But it doesn't sound very interesting to me. I don't think I will stop by there, but it seems like there is little to see or do in Marsa Matruh outside of the beach, so there is a small chance I might.
Nice video.... I went to Alexandria twice. I rented an AirBNB in front of the cornish , then from there I visited a few places with my Egyptian friends. It was nice. Different city. I like cities with oceans. I really enjoyed as always as your videos. What about your return to Cairo? by the way I am Carlos Cruz, no idea why TH-cam gave me user.....
Haha, hey Carlos! Yeah Alexandria is beautiful! I also really love cities by the sea. I actually returned to Cairo very quickly, because I was able to take the Desert Road instead of the Agricultural road that I took on the way there (it took me 5 hours instead of 9, and I was averaging around 90km instead of 67km). I did film it but the wind pushed my GoPro back so it was only filming sky 😅So I wasn't able to make a video about my return because the footage was useless. But I made it back okay! I am now on another road trip, but still editing those videos so it will be a while before I upload those.

Hey, your a brave soul riding a bike on these streets! Can you make suggestions on where to stay in Alex for maximum exposure on a medium budget not hostel style?
Thanks man! Unfortunately I don't really know of any places to stay in Alex outside of this hostel, because that is where I have stayed every time I am in Alex. I know there are a lot of hotels in Alex though, maybe hop on booking.com or other sites like that and check what is available. A lot of people like to stay near the Corniche, although as you can see there is a lot of traffic right along the waterfront so it can be quite loud, if that bothers you while you're sleeping

Egyptian police should change his behaviour really, This is one of the major problems in low trust societies, in high trust societies state police members don't usually stop you unless you almost did something illegal you did something said something seems it might be illegal, but you just riding the motorbike not missing any legal requirement, they shouldn't stop you in the first place, actually police harassment is one of the reasons why many highskilled Egyptian workers leave the country
Alexandria looks nice and I will try the Seafood there next time. I like how you mention you almost had your bike stolen twice, its unreal the different cultures, I spend time in Tokyo, you can leave your motor bike, keys in it, phone on your seat and no one touches it, I dropped a one yen coin once walking down the street and a guy came running after me to give it back, I like to culture and learned a lot in Japan. I see how the cops stopped you OMG do you get sick of that? its gotta be 99% of Egyptians don't have licenses, may be less but they always stop the westerner.$$$$$$$$
Yeah, well my bike was almost stolen twice outside my apartment in Cairo, so the thieves obviously scoped it out, not like it was just sitting on the street for a few hours and someone tried to steal it or something. It's a problem in many countries though, I think mentioning Japan is like comparing apples to dinosaurs, because Japan has a reputation for being one of the safest countries in the world 🤣 At least they don't have motochorros here 😅 Actually, this was literally the only time they checked my license, in 2 years of living and driving here. And in fact, I GAVE my license to him, I think he was actually just asking for my motorcycle registration card, which is different 😅 They also didn't ask for or demand any money, they just checked my registration card and then let me go. When I rode my motorcycle across Egypt I was of course stopped at all the many, many checkpoints, and they never checked my driver's license, just my registration card. I don't think they singled me out in Alex, because I've passed by plenty of police stopping other drivers on bikes (Egyptians) here in Cairo, and they have just waved me through without making me stop.
