well idk about that. a 911 in uk goest for about 10k. bring it to a speed shop and pour another 15k into it to have it all done and you might be looking at better brakes, suspension and a bit more power with a lot less weight behind it. also a better drivers car.

Its not as flashy as a Ferrari but who cares, if you buy a car just to attract attention to yourself you clearly have size issues. $100,000 is a bit steep but considering that it can outrun cars that cost twice as much, i think its fairly reasonable.
Amen to that... not everybody buys a car to be noticed in. This wagon would be perfect if you have a large family and your spouse wants a big comfortable family car but you want a sports car. Never gonna hear someone say, "I regret this purchase."

It's not really about it not being flashy but rather a car that only car people know. A Porsche GT3 is flashy but society will only think of it as any old Porsche.

Don't forget that on the same day an E63 beat the Camaro by 3 seconds on the Top Gear track (season 15 IIRC), and this one is significantly more powerful.
The person that buys a car like that is very self assured. They don't need a "hey look at me" car but like the power! I like the stealthiness of this wagon.

If you're looking to own only one car, this is perfect. Insane speeds, nice looks, and you can have four people in it comfortably. I guess this will do since the RS6 isn't coming to the US.
This is the ideal Autobahn cruiser though. If you regularly make long trips with luggage across Germany and surrounding countries, this car is worth a million times more than any Ferrari or Range Rover.

And why would you, Joe financially literate Rich Person, tie up $120k in an asset that won't be worth a third of that by the time the next one comes out when you can just make monthly lease payments, keep investing what would've been the down payment, and hop into a new one in 3 years now, no strings attached, which you would've done anyway. Or if you really love the current one, lease to own with only its now depreciated value left on the balance? Their lease rate is, like 80% or something equally ridiculous, and the longevity of the car reflects that. A 2-3 year old Mercedes *would* be a steal, though. Half price or sometimes even less, and it's still got a few years left under warranty. When the warranty ends, though, sell it for whatever you can, before you get hit with a $8,000 electrical repair and the car's not even worth that anymore.

This car is badass Doug. I would totally buy this if I had that kind of money. Throw some aftermarket aggressive rims and a murdered out matte black finish paint job with 5% tint all around and you have the baddest wagon on the streets. Maybe a little de-badging and a resonator delete too and GODDAMN!.. Sweet ride. And I'm not even really a Mercedes guy.

I'm constantly finding out new things about this car. So, I figured out that you CAN advance through songs from the steering wheel *if* you set the display in the center of the speedometer to "audio"... which means I don't get the AMG display info I prefer. Then (and only then) the arrow keys work for moving though the play list.

On the German Autobahn the wagons typically sit well over 100mph and do hundreds of thousands of miles. Mine, for example, is a diesel wagon that hits it's limiter at 155mph in 5th gear. Let me say that again, a diesel station wagon that hits it's electronic limited speed of 155mph in 5th gear. Got to love the Germans for that. I know I do!

Wasn't lying. But it does really sucks up fuel. To run it you need a lot of money and time, two things I don't have.

In Germany we call this " Ein Wolf im Schafspelz" witch means " A wolf in a sheep-skin" and thats the reason i like cars like that because almost nobody knows how much power this car has. But its true the price is too high for my taste..

FYI there is no DCT in the E63S. Its a MCT in all AMGs except the SLS and the new 45 AMGs.

I'm constantly finding out new things about this car. So, I figured out that you CAN advance through songs from the steering wheel *if* you set the display in the center of the speedometer to "audio"... which means I don't get the AMG display info I prefer. Then (and only then) the arrow keys work for moving though the play list.
The Mercedes E63 AMG S Wagon represents the pinnacle of German automotive engineering. It out accelerates (official 3.6 sec) the AMG GT S (official 3.7 sec) from 0 to 60mph, and its got greater passenger + cargo volume (EPA 136 sqft) than the Mercedes-Maybach (EPA 132 sqft). These are the figures for the current model (in the video), the upcoming 2018 model will have an even more powerful engine (600+ hp, 600+ lbft) and features optional 3rd row seats. This is a spectacular under-the-radar and well-rounded car.

Haha me too! One of my biggest pet peeves is when people walk up to a car and lean on it like it's a park bench. I about killed my sister's hubby for doing that with a friggin' MASSIVE key ring clip to his belt.

I would too, but it also costs twice as much and depreciation is going to be a killer. Ferrari maintenance costs look like pennies compared to waking up 5 years from now and finding out that your $100K car is worth $40k.

Just not in the way we expected
On the German Autobahn the wagons typically sit well over 100mph and do hundreds of thousands of miles. Mine, for example, is a diesel wagon that hits it's limiter at 155mph in 5th gear. Let me say that again, a diesel station wagon that hits it's electronic limited speed of 155mph in 5th gear. Got to love the Germans for that. I know I do!
