    I know it is more expensive, but I buy the premixed cans of 50:1 fuel. One reason is the is less spillage pouring from the 50:1 cans is easier than from a gas can. The fuel tank openings are small on chainsaws and adding fuel in the woods on uneven surfaces is not always easy.

    5 liters of petrol and 100 milliliters of oil makes 50-1 ratio. One liter gas would be 20 ml of oil. One US gallon of gas takes 2.5 US ounces of oil for a 50-1 ratio.

    Another good method for mixing the gas/oil:
    Buy a 1.5 Gallon gas can, pour the oil in. Go to the gas station and let gas pump do most of the work in mixing it. Then, you can further ensure a good mix like the second part of the video.
    Because the can is 1.5 gallon instead of one gallon, there is room to for the fuel to move.

    Run ethanol free gas and you dont have to worry about long term storage, just re-shake the saw before starting.

      Bryan Burbank I see it has been over 2 years since you posted this but, what do you suggest we do if 100% fuel in 89-93 octane isn't available? I hate ethanol in the fuel and know what damages it can cause. all I have here is regular fuel that's 100%. 15% ethanol in everything else. I've tried 87 100% gas but my saw and weed eater were lacking in top end performance. would you trust using additives in 2 cycle engines that remove ethanol? thanks for any help

    • @bryanburbank1376
      @bryanburbank1376 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Additives can be effective but I wouldn't trust them for long term storage. Maybe a few months or more. Google non-ethenol fuel stations and see if you can find something nearby or buy the smaller cans at home depot or Lowe's. Most saw shop sell small cans too

    • @aperson4933
      @aperson4933 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bro just use VP Small engine gasoline which is 94 octane and contains no alcohol. VP actually makes pre-mixed 50:1 Two Stroke gasoline.

      You will destroy the engine. 2 stroke engines get their lubrication from the oil in the gas. 4 stroke engines have the oil in the crankcase so there's no need to mix it for a 4 stroke.

    76.891 ml oil/ 1liter petrol, but makesure you put unleaded patrol - otherwise it'll damage the chain saw.

    • @kevinblythe2192
      @kevinblythe2192 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Mel Pancho: How does 76.891mls of oil to 1 litre (1000 mls) of fuel equate to a 50:1 ratio? That is a 13:1 ratio.
      It should be 20mls oil to 1000 mls fuel. Get your facts straight before coming on line and misleading everyone. Idiot.
