I also love the Uigeadail! Sherry and peat is a very nice combo. I'm new to this channel. Going through the old content. Must say I'm really liking the descriptions of the notes!
@@swedishwhiskygirl You should do it! I have a bottle of Corryvreckan (5/12/2020 bottling) open right now and I've done that comparison. I find and a few of my friends, that Corry is too in your face, it does one thing and isn't really too complex. Its a big strong peaty, meaty smoke bomb... I never use water but this one needs it.
It's also my second bottle of Corry, I won't be purchasing it again. But in another comparison, Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength is my favorite whisky of all time. It's bold, strong and knocks you in the mouth but it has all that funk, seaweed and iodine with it too.
is that a welsh twang in with the scottish?? 🏴 i have a bottle of this and just opened smoke is a punch but the fruit and mashmallow in there too..for me 😊
Sounds nice! Thanks! Maybe I need to try to get this somehow. Not available over here in Norway. I have also been on a peat wagon lately going through some of the more harder to get ones I haven't tried before from the different Islay brands.
I would love to, but I'm currently a bit unsure whether or not I'll have the time this year as my full time job is busier than normal this year due to a lot of unplanned circumstances ! I'll try to let you know as soon as I know. Thank you for letting me know that there's interest for it though ☺️
Last year was was "Drinks By The Dram" I believe. It was quality & interesting. I am in Mid-West USA, so not many Whiskey available. So I purchased at UK, Hard to Find Whiskey. Order enough and the shipping is free.
Hello again. Glad you are well. Saw the bottle at the visitor center. Couldn’t bring it along unfortunately. My backpack was already filled with almost 20 kilos and a quite rare red spot . Due to airport regulations. Interesting whisky though. Slainthe
@@swedishwhiskygirl you bet. Got 26 different Ardbeg whiskies at home. Time to choose. So it was an easy choice but on the other hand. I sure hated to let the Ardbeg go.
Terrific thoughts! Huge Ardbeg fan. I don't buy all of the special releases as there are so many released and the prices are a bit insane but I do get some! Lagavulin is my favorite distillery but Ardbeg comes in as a close second. I adore peated scotch! Cheers!
I've not tried it yet, starting to go off Ardbeg a bit as they can't go more than a few weeks without another limited release, or that's what it feels like.
Yes, "bark". Same here in Norway as well. The sweet malt and savory meaty smoke found in many peated whisky's definitely reminds me of sugared pancakes and bacon which was a favorite meal as a child growing up in Norway.
This is a greener take on Ardbeg 10. Definitely grassy and mossy. I think less smoked meat/BBQ vibes, more green and flowery character. Totally agree it's green and like-a-Spring-time-whisky. I like it more than 10 and more than 5.
Got a sample of this a while back, and it’s a really nice dram. Love Ardbeg ❤
Glad you're feeling better, Moa! And so glad to see you back on TH-cam. Always love your thoughtful notes.
Thank you for watching, Joe! Glad to be back to posting 🥃

This is such a great bottle! Great to see you uploading again. Look forward to more!
Aw thank you! And glad to hear you enjoyed it as well 🥃
Ardbeg 10 is such a gem, I love that distillery. Ugie has to be my all time favorite for an affordable dram.
We call it "bark" too
Thank you for confirming ! 😇 I really like Uigedail but haven’t tried it next to Corryvreckan in a while so would love to do that comparison soon !

It’s a crisp and clean whisky. Great review!
Thank you for watching!
Will you do a Advent Calendar this year? And which one would you buy? I would like to get the same AGAIN this year. THANKS!
Do you have any recommendations for a whisky calendar? I think I'd like to get one

Sounds like you managed to bring some good stuff home anyways? ☺️

Good to see you! I always enjoy.

Ardbeg 10 is one of my all time favorites.
This was a good, honest review but I didn't hear anything that would make me buy one of these over the ten.
I'd probably go for the 10, as it's such a classic and hard to beat !

Great review, and yes, it's "Bark" 😄

That's fair, I don't tend to follow any brands too closely with new releases but when I get a chance to try something new that's always fun ☺️
