Just getting back in to modeling with this game. This was great, and incredibly useful. I have a pile of these dang ASOIAF bases (I think the dang things are reproducing) to prepare for gaming club and grandkids. If the bases were used by sticky fingers prior, would a quick swab with rubbing alcohol and an old brush or makeup brush insure the dark earth gel sticks?
Had some issues getting glue to stick to these bases after it was dried -- basing with glue/sand. Have you had any issues with this material flaking or chipping off afterwards? I like the effect and would be interested in using it if it's a long term solution. Thanks!
The great thing about the movement trays is building a theme for your entire army with them. Starks I think is the hardest faction to make uniformed lore wise because Umbers would be hard winter, Crannogmen would be marsh land, and Tully's should be lush green land due to the rivers.
For texture pastes, you might want to look at Acrylic Pumice Gel medium. (www.goldenpaints.com/products/medium-gels-pastes/gel-with-aggregates for example) You can find it at Michaels and Hobby Lobby or nearly any art store. Mix with acrylic paints to get whatever color you need.
Hello! You mentioned that if you were doing the lannister bases you might swap the grey for the menoth white - would you swap out any other colors that you're using?
@@TheMiniJunkie Cool! I've got my starter box and thought you had a great point at slightly changing up each army to reflect their homelands, appreciate the tip!
I was literally wondering how I should base my Lannisters, and this will help, thanks babe!
Great video think you captured the feel of the starks perfectly. Going to give this a go on my baratheons but go with a more patchy green field look
i cant wait to see some baratheons or greyjoys
Very solid work as usual!
Seb Leveille thank you!
If I couldn't use this product, would PVA glue and dipping it in sand be a good substitute?
That could work as an alternative
@@TheMiniJunkie meh, it is 20 bucks, ill just buy it lol, thanks for answering though. I like your bases
Love me the P3 paints!
Why can't I find them at almost any hobby shop?

What can i use in case i dont have acces to the vallejo earth texture do you have another alternative
can I ask where you buy your movement tray from?
thanks
Andrew M it comes with the unit
Great guide! Will follow it for mine. One question though, why didn't prime the base before adding the Earth texture?
not necessary and I wanted all of it to be the same base color
do you need to pre prep or treat the tray? with some kind of sealer or bonder etc?
Rob I just prime it and after painting matte varnish
Another question if you don’t mind, if you were needing to prime the models white, how would you do that since the models are attached to the bases?
Jameson Bamrick I just prime the mini and paint over the base at the end :)
The MiniJunkie oh wow, hand painting the base at the end almost makes too much sense. Sorry! Was hung up on the airbrush!

Jameson Bamrick I think that's the only change.

What scale are these miniatures?
wkvalader I think they are 28mm
Why do you have the maple leaf upside down? As a proud Canadian myself I'm guessing Trudeau.
Heroic 28mm more like Age of Sigmar
