This guide was super helpful. Finally getting into my 2 boxes of Rose Knights. . I had to substitute the metallic primer with a tamiya light grey. I did all the messy dry brushing/washing/ and highlights of the metal first. Before finishing up with with all the cloth and cleaner bits. Thanks for the inspiration!
I’m glad you’re finding it helpful! One of the reasons I think ASoIaF is a great game to start your miniature painting hobby with is because of the rank and file system, you can always hide the guys you messed up on in the back!
I love it ❤ the color combo and details are awesome. What i want to ask is, when you highlighting do you mix the color with more water or use some medium to make the color more natural or bland it in a natural way? Thanks you so much. I’m buy my first army of Baratheons so i will use your tutorial to paint them 🎉
It depends! The yellow green color in particular goes on more like a glaze, but in general, unless I say otherwise, everything is usually just thinned with equal parts water.
Man I can only think how the GoT television show did House Tyrell dirty with their cheap and ridiculous looking armor in the later season. Now Ser Loras Tyrell's jousting armor in season one? That was a thing of beauty
Hello Mike Really nice tutorial. Starting to paint minis after buying the ASOIAF game, this video is a great inspiration even if on ly training will allow me to reach your level. When highlighting, your colours blends perfectly. Is it due to your mix water/paint ? What about using a wet palette? Is the advice the same? When you do not have nor find nun oil, what else can you use ?
@Shakall, you can use Dark Tone by the Army Painter as a Nuln Oil substitute, they’re pretty much the same: amzn.to/3ejzPRv In regards to the blending on the highlights, most of that comes with the mixing of the colors when you highlight, abs adding more of the lighter color to achieve that lighter highlight. Sometimes it takes practice, but that’s what’s so great about ASoIaF’s rank and flank system, you can hide any figures you messed up in the back row!
Are you Team Renly or Team Stannis?
Renly!
100% Stannis
I prefer Stannis, but i like the rose knights more than the rhllor guys, so let's see which units for them will be released in the future
Renly, but mainly for House Tyrell
Great tutorial and love the colours. The sculpts themselves remind me of Dark Souls!
I had a buddy of mine say “Doctor Doom” once.
Looks Great!

Glad it helped! You’ll have to let us all know how they turned out!
this are th best miniatures from all the game
Some of my absolute favorites.
Super neat to see this as I'm awful at painting, maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

@@MikeMeeple Good point!
Wow, the results are so amazing!! I wish I could do it like you!! Simply amazing!! 🙏🏻
You can! It might take some practice, but you can get there!
This was a huge help to me - thanks!
Those are some very poorly painted minis. I love them.
Keep up this good work
I’m glad you liked it!
Great tutorial...I just ordered a box simply watching this...any ideas on how to paint Karstark spearmen...or can you do a tutorial on them???
They may or may not be in my queue... ;)
Fantastic tutorial.
Scale of the miniature compare with zombicide or massive darkness?????😊

Yeah… I can only imagine what the series would have looked like if they did show accurate heraldry and armor…
Any alternative paints to the green like would goblin green mixed with waaagh green be the same?
From the Army Painter range, Goblin Green is similar to Light Green, and Poisonous Cloud is close to the Yellow Green that I use.
For Citadel, use Sybarite Green and Moot Green.
@@MikeMeeple thanks so much
My main shop doesn't carry army painter, and substitutes for the plate mail primer?
Leadbelcher from Citadel is pretty much the same thing. You’ll get a light variation in color, but nothing that you’ll really notice…
Fantastic
