    Our house came with a lacanche cluny 40", probably the closest competitor to this thing, and it's really a fantastic range. I'll also note that I can fit half sheet pans in both ovens.

    It's so pretty. My dream oven. Still deciding between this color, or the ivory.

    Save your money. I bought one full blow from Williams Sonoma. Honestly the thing is the biggest piece of crap I have ever purchased. I have Wolf appliances in my other home different level. The stove is tiny does not fit american pans. It burns everything on outside and is raw on inside. Ditto for baking. I got the copper finishes. The plating so thin it just started pealing off on the burner knobs as well as stove handles. It looks great and we take care and don’t abuse. It’s in our country home so not a lot of use and always cleaned up after use. Very disappointed.

    Does anybody else wonder why we don't make good quality appliances in the US any more???
    Something is going on and it's not good for American families. It shouldn't cost 20,000.00 for a range!

      I agree.
      I make these really nice Kitchen hoods that coordinate with us stove.

      Planned obsolescence, I believe. It can’t be good for the environment either. 😩

      We do make high quality appliances here in the US, Subzero, Wolf, Viking etc that's not the problem, the problem is greed and high prices but you can't blame these greedy companies as long as there are customers who are willing to climb alang any price hike. Although Subzero refrigerators are far more superior to any refrigerators worldwide you can still buy one for around $9k which is not cheap but doable....

    So…it’s an Aga. I had no idea they’d been bought out. Main reason I won’t consider LaCornue is it’s become the go-to cooker for new-money Hollywood people. Kind of a turn-off. Case-in-point Kelly Wexler, an over-hyped designer who’s hired by a lot of clueless Hollywood celebs. No, thanks. I bought a Cluny LaCanche. Still French. Still family-owned. Still a rarity, for the most part.

      @@theappliancereview I would describe it as heavy first. But once it’s in, it’s like a beautiful piece of furniture that happens to be made of heavy metal. Every touch feels solid and quality and the finish on mine actually looks like leather, which I prefer to a high-gloss. All helps to make it look more beautiful trunk and less bank vault.

      Ugh this is a turnoff for me too. I am not a Hollywood trends gal. When I watch Hollywood real estate shows I feel like it’s all basic as pumpkin spiced latte…but just a lot of money for that latte. People seem to be moths to flies of certain luxury brands without knowing WHY. Many of whom don’t even seem to cook or appreciate features. Building my dream home now and my taste is opposite of anything Hollywood. I’ll look into the brand you mentioned!

    just got my custom La Cornue after months of waiting and it was not even the right color. Not only this, the tried to claim it was just a new name for the same color. I photographed the original sample next to the range and sent it to the retailer I ordered it from, and we all learned something about La cornue. They aren't above trickery, and they don't care if it inconveniences their customers because we are not usually able to turn away a range. It ruins our remodel project. But in my case, I said NO, TAKE it BACK, and I will not buy from them again. They have no integrity and think American customers are idiots, apparently.

    Fine, keep it analogue, keep it simple, you don't need all that extra expense of electronics and high end oven tools ONLY IF you keep the price down, but NO this thing is sold for about $15000 just because "We're from France". Next...

    The idea that Lacanche is inferior makes you clearly inferior at sales of this machine. The different companies make wildly different and amazing pieces. You should be ashamed of your implications.

    • @theappliancereview
      @theappliancereview  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Really? I think I refer to Lacanche as a “Very good competitor” to the La Cornue. In fact, at no point do I refer to the Lacanche as inferior. Maybe you were just having a bad day and needed someone or something to take it out on? 🤷🏻‍♂️
