      Same here, if im spending that kind of money for a heirloom appliance, i expect parts availability into the multiple decade range. Along with full service manual availability to the end user.

    We just be asked if we clean one these ranges. At £55,000 for the Cornue 120 range in the UK we decided to give it a miss. Looking at professionally cleaning it, it wouldn't be easy and would take a long time.

    Beautiful ranges, at a price point comparable to a 4-bedroom house in Belgravia.

      The Chateau Ranges should be made in France. The English ones are budget ranges.

    I'm surprised that in your drawbacks list, you didn't include the absence of a window . . . it's just not practical or efficient to not be able to peek at your food without opening the door

    • @es2056
      @es2056 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      In France the methods of cooking are not what we are used to in the U.S. Practicality is subjective. These are beautiful ranges that are designed for cooking at a different pace. Adding a glass window would be sacrilege to the French. I know it sounds snooty, but that's just the way it is.

    • @weareoneexol2523
      @weareoneexol2523 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you want a window on it just dont choose this brand, this is the style of the brand “vintage style”. Most of people choose this brand because their vintage style. I mean if you’re rich just buy seperate one.

      In all honesty and please, I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but real chefs and great home cooks do not need nor want an oven with glass in the door for several reasons.
      Some being that glass, after a few uses, no matter how good a cleaner you are, will be disgusting and stained forever.
      We trust our cooking ability, timing and equipment.
      We use our ears and nose to determine what others have to see.
      Glass door isn't as "convenient" as people think when you have to kneel on a kitchen floor and still barley see inside because the oven lighting is so dismal that you have to open the oven door anyway.
      The glass on the outside will always be smudged with fingerprints and water, making it continually look filthy.
      There are so many benefits to not having glass oven doors that far outweigh having one with glass.
      We all have our own reasons, and yours isn't wrong. We as humans all do certain things differently from one another.

    just got my custom La Cornue after months of waiting and it was not even the right color. Not only this, the tried to claim it was just a new name for the same color. I photographed the original sample next to the range and sent it to the retailer I ordered it from, and we all learned something about La cornue. They aren't above trickery, and they don't care if it inconveniences their customers because we are not usually able to turn away a range. It ruins our remodel project. But in my case, I said NO, TAKE it BACK, and I will not buy from them again. They have no integrity and think American customers are idiots, apparently.

      Actually, most of La Cornue's customers are really rather ordinary people who are very passionate about cooking and have often saved for years to buy a La Cornue. They do get people like those you are talking about, and they know very well how to work with them, but they are not necessarily the majority.
