I did this on my manual. I had it in gear and had the clutch pushed in and I could turn it off / on by pressing / pulling the park brake lever for five seconds while the engine was running. Sweet - thanks for the tip.
the hold button is for stop and go traffic , once you depress the brak pedal the truck we stay still even if your in drive, untill you hit the then it will just be green again, depress the brake again yellow under the green you will stay still. its for bumper to bumper traffic, I LOVE IT
Once you turn it off, it stays off until you turn it back on. It’s possible that disconnecting the battery could reset it to default, but I haven’t tried. I have the 6spd manual, but I’m pretty sure it acts the same regardless of transmission type. I prefer to have it off, but I don’t think it’s bad either way, and it certainly doesn’t hurt anything to use a parking brake! You got some strange nitpicking issues if this is a major problem for you 😂
@@RobMotiveI think you just assumed that’s what happened, but I dunno. You re-deactivated the already deactivated automatic electronic parking brake 😂. That’s a mouthful. At least, that’s what you did in the video. Mine stays off permanently until I turn it back on.
I will try that on mine thanks 🎉🎉

Good to hear!
Am I missing something here? The parking brake sets (turns on) automatically? No offense, Rob, time to buy the Colorado.
It does turn automatically. I do like that ZR2!
I wonder if this will work for my 6spd?
Good question?
FYI, just tried it and it does work on manuals. Put it in first gear and hold button for 5 seconds. Thanks.

Do we really need that on the truck or was it just a geek's favorite toy?
It make's things more convenient I suppose, but the old fashioned hand brake did work just fine.
UNTILL YOU HIT THE GAS PEDAL, MY BAD!!
Huh?
Electric parking brake?? 😆😆😆😆
& another reason not to buy this new truck unless you can turn it off permanently & the hand brake works fine
I don’t think so.

@kevinbradley8613 Mine defaulted to on after turning the truck off -Auto Transmission.

Lol! That’s strange. I checked it after the video and it defaulted back to on. Weird🤔
