Did you try the Tracking App allready? If so what did you put in at the Server?
I got 3 units. They are working perfectly. I used them to track ocean currents. I didn't realize water got in due to periodic waves covering the unit until a week later. When they started to show signs of malfunction, I can still track it on the internet but no sms anymore, I cleaned it and they are back to operation but some functionality are gone such as led indicators. I just cover the mic pin hole with electrical tape and added some silicon sealant to the gasket to make sure no water can't enter again.

hi andy ,, just bought the above tracker ,, only had it a few days ,, but first impressions are positive ,, straight forward and easy to use ,, i needed peace of mind for my expensive camper van ,, early days ,, but looks to be a decent buy at a very resonable price :))

How often do you have to charge it?

I have 2 TKStar trackers already which work fine, but just trying to add a brand new TK915 tracker to my phone app and when I press on the orange red 'IMEI/ID log in' on my phone app nothing happens so at moment I cannot track on my WinnesTKStar phone app. Any suggestions please? Thank you
What's the trick to get sms shock alerts out of this? All set up with giffgaff - tracks in the app and www but I cannot get sms shock alert out of this. Had a couple of random move alerts - strangly the manual doesn't mention move alerts!?
Can it be left plugged to the cigarette lighter plug of the car while it's on and working?
I often get a GPS offline message despite there being credit on my sim is this just down to the vehicle I'm tracking being stationary for a significant time period?
Mine keeps saying offline and the only way I can get the location is to call it. When I first put it in it was doing live tracking on the app. Do I need to take the admin and Sos number off for it to work again
i get TK....not enabled in the winnes-app why is that , i am able to send commands to the sim card and get response, i did not set up apn

I can confirm that the shake alarm works very well / I'd say perfectly. You can also set the sensitivity.
All sms communication / alarms also works perfectly (that is my experience).
Geofencing also works (but not in a garage. The GPS does not retrieve correct position while in a garage. However, the shake alarm always works)
And even though I wanted to pay for prolonged use of the app (beyond the one year free that comes with the device), and (without going in to all the details) being denied the possibility of 'topping up' (because of non-correct ICCID??) I now how 2 devices that both works with the app, without paying for extra years. Ask me if interested, to learn what solved the problem for me anyway

@@Francesco0800 the mobile phone app to control and track the device was free to use for a year, together with the GPS device (after registering and setting everything up). Then, after a year, I was asked to pay 5-10 dollars to 'top up' and be able to continue to use the app (else only being able to use the GPS tracker with SMS commands and without the app - and that would still have worked but in a more limited way), but there was something wrong with my device ID, so I couldn't pay to extend the app access even when I tried to do it (because I had bought the device from Wish or similar (not the official retailer). However, and I don't remember the exact details, but I was able to make it all (the app) work again anyway, for free, just like before.
And how did I do that? Well, I don't remember the details now, what I did, but basically, I think I basically registered everything from scratch again, I mean, removing the Sim card, and entering the Sim card into the device again and installed/set it/everything up again like it was the first time. And I don't renember all the details now, but that is what I did. And it (including the app) has worked fine ever since. Without ever having to pay any extra fee or 'top up'.
(i did not reenter any device ID into the app. I kept the app all the time. What I reinstalled was the sim-card and all the set up associated with the sim card and the internet / data provider, those kind of things.
And there is a manual that explains how to do it. Perhaps not that easy to understand, but it does show and explain how to do it).
(Another thing to make sure of, is that the mobile phone/internet provider broadcasts in the same frequency bands that the purchased GPS tracker device uses. And they sell different modells, 2G, 3G and 4G. But there are also more specified bands within those bands and at least one of those frequency bands must agree with your chosen mobile/internet provider - else it will not work). I for example, wanted a 2G device, and in Sweden it was only Telia/Halebop providers that had the right band frequencies. But I checked it first and it also worked perfectly. But if I gad tried this GPS tracker with any other mobike/internet provider in Sweden, it (the GPS tracker) would simply not have worked at all.
And - also be aware that - they will usually shut down (if not already done in various countries) the 3G net first.
Then the 2G net.
4G systems will last the longest, I believe (or possibly 2G, for longer range, fewer transmitters needed in that older system. Similar devices send very little data, 2G is enough and in some countries they keep the 2G systems longer)., while installing the short range 5G systems that needs lots of transmitters with short distances in between).

After you set it up, every time you go for a ride will it notify you that the bike moved?
Advice people, don't install it to your battery as you can drain the bike battery. It has its own long life rechargeable battery. Wiring it up to the ignition so it charges while you are riding.

Anyone know how to change the ICCID number attached to account. There is no edit options in the app settings. Mytkstar.net also doesn't have an option. I've sent an email to TK Star but not recieved anything yet.

How do you know when the sim card is not compatible?
I have an EE sim contract in this. Got it for Iphone 6. The device in 'not enabled'. I have gone through all the steps. Im wondering if my SIM is compatible. I can get text notifications but I need access to the app. No commands work as my device shows offline. I have an EE sim in the tracker and an EE Iphone 7 that i want to be able to see it on maps. Please help
Check the SIM in something else I guess, to check the SIM itself is okay.

Hello, the instructions are very helpful. I did all the steps correctly, it showed that it works, but after a few hours it said at the top screen of the app "100% offline battery". Do you know what it means to have a "100% offline battery" if a sim card was normally inserted and the blue light was normally on, at least on the beginning?

You're unlikely to find one actual real time as that would take huge power.

Hi Andy. How did you figure out that the Three Mobile sim is not compatible? I bought a sim from Irish provider "Eir" and I'm not getting any replies from the Tkstar so can't set it up.
Hmm, honestly I can't remember now if it would reply to texts. It needed to work on a 2G network though I think.

Got mine a few days back .. the history doesn't show you the actual route taken but it sort of connects between locations.. and 2nd thing I stopped at places which didint show as 'p' or parking..

Hi Andy.When you do "live tracking" in google maps I believe it needs network data for that operation.What happend in case the tracker will not have any network signal ? You know We are in UK :) Does it work also with GPS signal itself ?
Most places there are people, there's a signal :-) It needs the data connection to do live tracking. If you can text the unit though it can likely text back it's location back to you.
Sorry for asking. If the device has two admins,and the password command for text message is changed by admin1, is the password for admin2 changed too or still remain the same? Thanks

GiffGaff works great in the UK, no idea about Europe I'm afraid.
Hello. I just got like the one in your video. But I have not used it yet. I will be travelling in my car soon to several countries in Europe. Will the SIM network work in another countries? For example, if I activated the sim in Germany, will it work in italy and other non EU countries?

You'll just need to google them for your provider.
Mhh... i have the same tracker, and ive got no problems using the SMS Functions and Tracking it down via the Homepage of TKstar, but anyhow i dont get it fixed to use it on the App... What do i have to put in at Server and what do i need to put in on Username and Password? The apnnuser and apnpassword which ive setted before? Can anybody maybe help me out?
I only set apn name.
I never set any apn user and password, and that works for me anyway.
To login to the app, use the ID number (digits) that are visible on the back of the device and password 123456 (unless u have changed that).

U can do a reset of the de ice to start over and do the setup correct.
There is a new updated version of the tkstar app. The old app which I had already installed, has changed name to winners gps something.
The new app has the same name as the original app, tkstar gps something.
Try both apps. (my started working for the new app). And u can actually have both apps installed at the same time (in my case, I can have two devices in the apps, one for each app!).
One of my devices (I have 2) stopped working in the app after a year. I tried to buy upgrade / lifetime app support but my ICCID was denied and it asked me if a correct one (to summarize, even if I wanted to pay for future app usage, I could not.
- However, at first I still had surf / internet credit left - but app did not work, but eventually the surf credit was 0. And I purchased for another 6 months of internet / surf. And when I did that, the app also started working again!
The other device, I purchased 2nd hand, and it was way older than 1 year. When trying it in the app, it said it was not activated. Again, I tried but was denied the possibility of purchasing future app support, even when I wanted to pay.
- However, when I later set the APN name, the app started working too!
So now both my devices works in the apps, one in each app. And I am past the 1 year free on both, and both apps still works now. And I didn't pay anything to extend beyond the one year free, but works anyway!
after 1 year of use, my device (like this) is not working anymore. When I connect to charger, the red light is on, but when I insert the sim, no more blue light. I tried to fully charged the battery first, after that, I inserted the SIM, but still no blue light is on like before. Any idea or any help please?

Yes, I can check history. I'm not sure how far back it can go, but I was just looking at my history 6 days ago.

Can these mount to underneath a vehicle? Also can you make it automatically send texts messages every 30 seconds with the gps coordinates for long term tracking?
They have magnets to mount, but I don't know I'd trust them myself. I can't see the battery lasting all that long if it text every 30 seconds. It would also cost quite a lot.
Have giffgaff to giffgaff and texts would be free! How do you make them automatically send SMS every 2 minutes or so?
I was wondering how the geo fencing works. If I set a geo fence, will the actualunit beep if it goes out or do I just get a notification on app?
I believe just an app notification.
And u will (or at least can) get an automatic sms message sent to u, with tracking link.
The actual unit will, however, of course not beep and expose itself to a possible thief. The unit itself will remain silent and send its location to you in the app and via link in sms

Hmm, it's a long time since I did this... but no, I think the SIM would need to be in there, for the GPS to receive the details it gets messaged, no?
Yes, put the sim in your phone (I have an old phone I keep for this purpose) get everything set up and then put the sim into your tracker and you are good to go: refer to video at 2:40
I have a giffgaff sim pay as you go, so to top up, I simply take the sim out of the tracker, put it back into the said phone, top it up and then return it back to the tracker.
Does this unit show historical data such as where the vehicle has been and what speeds it has travelled ?

Thanks Andy, all sorted now. Works a treat. I can confirm it also works covertly inside a car and also indoors in a multi story carpark. And the App works easy as well. Lets see how the battery holds out
StockyDoccy if you put it on standby 12 hour mode it will last about 10 days. It's a brilliant piece of kit for the price.

But only data and no sms? Perhaps, if u set the device to be always on and always track every 30 second. Will drain the battery though.
Hmm... Perhaps it could be done without sms. U could still send instructions to it, or call it, to wake up (but never get an sms reply/confirmation), and then use the app. Interesting. Someone should try if it works without sms and only using app and data. So i amthinking of a paid sim card that u charge. But once the sms money is zero, perhaps there is no need to add more, but only use data. Because u should still be able to call or send sms to the unit, which is needed to wake the device, at times. But perhaps not really needed of the device to send confirmation sms back. But the simcard would need to be able to receive sms/phone calls to wake it. Once its wake, the app can be used.

No, as long as you already have a phone with a SIM, you just need one SIM so the tracker can communicate with the internet.
Now you have used it for a while, do you have any idea of the data usage or running cost? Reason I'm asking so comments on Amazon for this product says there is no data usage at all when use their online tracking, it uses GPS to do the same rather than your mobile data. So perhaps the cost you have shown in this video was associated with the text messages sent from that SIM. So in other words if you only use online tracking, and do not call/send messages to that device, your running cost will be very minimal. It will be great if you can confirm from your experience.

When I text the gps I receive a respond saying ‘invalid command’
I Use global SIM card for these trackers or use things mobile for m2m SIM cards for trackers the credit never runs out, this way they use all networks, EE, Vodafone and o2, £20 to £30 a year depending on use lasts a year
They switch between the networks, the home network is EE but if a weak EE signal it switches to other networks voda or o2

I am also using a giffgaff sim card. Did you have any problems using the live track function on the tkstar app at all?. I have done all the apn setup via sms and it will respond using the "g123456#" command for goigle map location. The tkstar app constantly tells me the tracker is offline and i cannot work it out. I do have plenty of data allowance on the sim card.

Does anyone know of the sim runs out of credit because you forgot to top up , then had the misfortune of something you’ve attached it to getting stolen ..... could you top it up say from a swipe card , or using the phone number over the phone , then activating the signal ? It could be a good little money saving idea , just top it up when you need it basically ?
I think you could, but you need to put money on in the first place to activate it. That looks like it might last me a few years based on it's usage so far! (Use the GiffGaff link in video description ;-) ) Also, I'd rather have it tracking them where ever they went. Lets say they take it to a lock up. By the time you've activated it, it can't get a GPS lock in doors. If I'm tracking the whole way, I can see where they took it. Would seem odd to risk this for £10 a month.

What you do with the SIM in your phone isn't really relavent to the tracker, is it?

I think you need 2G data too. Definitely if you want the app to work with it.

I've been having trouble with the GPS software. I downloaded the TKSTAR App from the App store. Put in the IMEI/ID code and the default password according to the manual, but it keeps telling me I have a username/password error. Any advice?

Yes to UK. Battery life about a month. SIM can be bought from video description. Works where ever SIM has signal.

As long as they have a 2g network, you can.
@@MAdilK there is an identical GPS tracker by tk-star which has 3G instead. If you search for it, u can find it on the web.
(the advantage with 2G though, is better coverage (longer distances from the cell phone towers) and drains less battery, hence ideal for GPS tracking, which also uses so little data. That is only what 2G is used for these days, if still in use. And it's ideal for it)
The vibration is very good and is the most important feature.uiu have the warning on your phone in 10 sec
Hi there. It's a good piece of kit but I cannot get the apn to enable real-time tracking. Can get the location to sms but not via real-time. Are there any trouble shooting tips pls as the instruction manual is very poor. 2 sided and not informative

Purchased 1 off ebay, set it up..... but every time i checked location it was showing any where but the location it should be. It even gave me 1 location for china?

Less than 10 pounds a year with Sim cards that you charge / load with money, on demand, here in Sweden.
So how much did it actually cost per month in data charges on that tesco sim in the end? i'm assuming that the 2quid you saw was used in the first couple of days included a lot of text messages costs that you used to set the thing up etc.
Honestly I can't remember, but I think it will only 20-50p a month.

I had a similar thought after looking at the comments on Amazon, some people say no data cost at all as it uses GPS rather than your mobile data when you online tracking. So cost will be only related to your texting.
