learning of Marathon Lore has taught me that Bungie was batshit insane in their writing even back then. gotta love the consistency of their writing and world building styles.
I’ve been a fan of the original Marathon trilogy for years. Words cannot express how happy I am that this franchise is getting the attention it deserved 27 years later.
Bro, you must be high af to think BUNGIE of all company's is going to make this game great again. Just look at there 2 other games they completely ruined. I honestly am not holding my breathe for these idiots anymore. Gl!
This made me laugh harder than whay it was supposed to. Destiny 2 is there current money maker and they are absolutely shitting all over it. Imagine what this game will be if it recieved that same effort into Marathon 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wait i recognize the armour of that enemy with a red cloak and green orb in its chest...its the same one warlock's have in Destiny 2 from Dares of Eternity chests 😮
Yep. That enemy is called a S’pht Compiler, the most iconic enemy in Marathon. All three classes in Destiny have armor that represents Marathon from the Dares of Eternity chests. Warlocks get the S’pht Compiler, Titans get a different enemy called a Pfhor Hunter, and Hunters get the armor of MJOLNIR Recon 54, the player character of the Marathon trilogy.
@@zeelfarshmek111XD I didn’t write the lore of Marathon, don’t shoot the messenger. The Pfhor Hunters are more like Terminators than the Hunters of Destiny, but out of all the different enemies in Marathon, their armor was the most appropriate for the Titan class. But they couldn’t leave Marathon without representing the player character, so they went to the Hunter class.
the Mida weapon sets are also references to Marathon. they refere to an organization called MIDA. the mini tool lore entry is a direct continuation of the story for one Marathon character.
It was made for Mac only that’s probably why. When Steve Jobs came back to Apple he premiered Halo at Apple’s WWDC and the original XBox needed a hit title. Apple being broke at the time and Bungie was in need of money so Bill Gates & Microsoft swooped in and bought the studio.
If you are looking for more Marathon Lore, youtube series here th-cam.com/users/shortsdsLH8Tp3e5c And playing live on Twitch each week

And they will kill it like Destiny 2
same! can't wait for them to fucking ruin it

They'll just turn it into a garbage ass looter shooter and ruin the legacy

@@MWilmott the last two names should be reversed xD a hunter for a Titan and a Mjolnear for a Hunter? xD

It's so weird seeing things that inspired content in both Halo and Destiny in what's essentially a distant ancestor
thought this was doom or duke nukem for a sec!
never even heard about marathon back in the day.

@@unusallife6326Bungle was owned by Apple, MS, Activision AND Sony? That's kinda crazy😮
this is the longest and most debated terminal in the series. maybe in all of gaming. bungie was so fucking cool
What does that mean, in terms for non Marathon players?
This is the first short to have marathon that ive ever seen
Have you heard the name Johnathan from family?
nice short papa! nutbush down the river !!!
I have forgot about that secret until now!
Looks exactly like a fallout terminal
It's a shame they're going to ruin Marathons legacy by dropping some trash looter shooter under the same name
I accidentally found this while playing 😅
Looks like the 90's game "Doom"
I wonder how it's going to be when it's modernized with the gaming technology we have now
Marathon was the first fps where you could look/aim up and down
@@Supersonicspyroit was also the first game to have voice chat
@@czarnakoza9697 that I didn't know, but makes sense Bungie was the first to do it
I want to see another oni game.
Wait. Vandal Durandal?!
*chef's kiss*
Did anyone notice the destiny 2 ornament reference 😂
You mean warlock set?
I mean, it’s not a reference to destiny, destiny is referencing this game. This game came out like 29 years ago lol
Not Randall the Vandal
Or more than likely, Bungie didn't think it through.
Its durandal mindset.....thats it
Nobody cares
You just did 👌
Thanks for boosting engagement though!
