I have watched several videos on the H160 to learn how to fly it and this one was by far the best. Thanks for the great explanations. Looking forward to more.
I recently bought the H160 and while I'm able to fly it and use the AFCS, your videos are very helpful understanding what the different settings do and understanding what the trims do. Subscribed in case you make more of this kind of content.
Thanks for the tutorial, very helpful 👍🏻. It is possible to bound NAV and CPL to a key stroke or joystick binding. I am using the H145 HPG. You can define the NAV (for switching between nav sources) and CPL (to couple the nav source to AP) with custom key bindings in the config tool within the setup of the H145. See the documentation for more info.
Very clear and helpful video, but I could have done without the loud music which detracts from rather than enhancing the video. But thank you very much for your help.
What is the difference between pushing trim release and spring override when we are in takeoff.. I don't press trim release and it kind of takes my cyclic input without fighting during takeoff hover .. But I'm not sure if it's the right way.
Thanks. Purchased H160 - Great aircraft. Only experience is with DCS Apache. Tablet control is an immersion killer for me. Some bindings does not work, such as AIS - but I found it on the panel, works OK. Q: have problem with auto hover engage. A second hit activation may activate, but most often not. First engage is GTC (Green or yellow arm). Flying into center of HSI hover with bleep trim does not help. It stay in GTC, even with new button hits. More or less random hover is yellow amber. Or with some luck hover engage annunciator and green circle .But I do not know why... So - what is prerequisite for green hover engage? And trim release is the same as trim reset in DCS - setting a new neutral..? Keep up the excellent work.
I think the biggest obstacle for you is that it's not like the apache at all. It took me some time to wrap my head around it. I might suggest my latest video to help explain trim release and follow up trim a little more. th-cam.com/video/TwPO1yQjeYQ/w-d-xo.html
Update - I figured it out. Auto hover toggle not on release , but on press. Now the hover is armed yellow. Slow down and hover/height is engaged green.
Thanks for your video, very informative and helpful! I only have the H145 at this time but I encounter a persistent issue which I think you may be able to resolve, if anyone can. When I switch out of AFCS mode to either SAS backup mode or full manual mode the pedal output (and the visual pedal positions) remains at what it was at that time, and the only way I have been able to get it to reset and return to the same as my input is to land. I hope I've explained that clearly! 😉 I haven't been able to resolve this in spite of releasing/resetting all trim settings 🤷♂
I’ve seen that and I think the Devs are aware. Are you on the HPG discord? It might be worth asking there. If I recall it’s a visual bug and I know it’s happened to me.
Can you tell anything of the install process, Is it a download and install in community folder or does it involve having to go through some desktop installer, and also have to install this and that and you also need these and be running those etc
Hype Performance has an application called Hype Operation Center. It handles the install and updates and you activate your license key through that upon install. It is not required to be running at all times, only at install or update.
Feels like I'm fighting this helicopter all the time. Must be the AFCS system doing weird stuff. I dunno if I like this at all. This video is something I'll definitely come back to when I've figured out how to stop it twitching all over the place...
You’re not alone. I plan another video talking about follow-up trim settings. That can have an effect. Consider checking your tablet settings for deadzone and see if you bump it up a little to make sure you’re not providing input when you’re not expecting. Hang in there, when it clicks it’s gonna click for you and it’s a joy to fly.
@@Blueecko Deadzones all fine and see no unexpected input signalling hands/feet on. I look forward to further videos and I hope it does 'click' for me because so far I hate it and I'm constantly fighting the damn thing.
@@Blueecko After speaking to the guys on the Hype Discord, it turns out I wasn't holding Trim Release and using the follow-up trim and AFCS system properly at all. She flies lovely now! Just about to watch your latest vid on the topic to see what else I can learn, many thanks!
Best explanation on the trim and AP modes that i’ve seen so far, esp. the time spent clearly articulating the bindings. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for compliment.

Great video thank you
I love all your tutorials. They help me try this game without too much research
awesome! ...thanks
Great as always man!
Appreciate that
Great info there ! Thanks for wrapping up for us !
Many thanks for this video. It was very clear and incredibly useful:)
Great to hear!

Good video, would like some more h145 as I haven’t got the 160 and am not planning on buying it.
Thx for the Video. Mostly commands / sets are the same as the H145
That is correct and it will make it easy for people to jump in and fly the H160 on release. Thanks for the comment!

@@Blueecko Thanks for quick reply. How to get Auto hover? I bind a switch to auto hover. As mentioned above this bind to primary GTC - not auto hover.

NOT saying this is a bad vide, it isn't. It's a very good video.
But I STILL don't understand the trim release haha
Fantástico;
Thank you!
