I remember dad sold the other one in a garage sale when they sold the house in Ida. I also remember I think the 4 of us maybe, using one of them to search around up north. If I remember right all we found was a buried plastic bag of empty pull top beer cans.

My detector (same as you have) sounds off but when I turn knob from mineral to metal or vice versa there is a continuous buzzing (normal) and will not go null at any point. Also the red light did not go on when I depressed the AA battery pack button but DID light on the nine volt battery check. Strange thing is that BEFORE I tried anything it seemed to work (batteries were weak and leaking in the AA compartment)....one was leaking so I replaced all the batteries with fresh ones. I the to throw this out because it has a a lot of memories but I do have 2 other detectors which are newer. Any suggestions. Also the 5 little pins were black so I clean them with alcohol and used compressed air to dry them....they re in the plug going into the detector.

I was cleaning my attic, and I found an exactly Metal detector like this one, but all the wires from the connector to the PC board are broken, I will really appreciate if you can tell me the color and order to solder back this wires, the connector has numbers in the pins.
    Thanks.
I am in Tijuana Mx ready to go Baja looking for gold! 😆

A better way would've been to just use a 9v battery instead of the big bulky battery pack
