Hey judge Mo. boy here. Bought this bottle last Sunday. Havent opened yet, but will shortly. Love BH! BIB is fire, as is the 7.2 year One Barrel at 124.5 proof. I gonna do a distill tour someday. Distillery located in Weston. Mo. Just south of KC. Nice work man!
My wife and I have done the Distillery Tour twice now, its the only way to pick up some unique Cave Series BH. Cheers! Glad you enjoyed the Missouri Bourbon experience.
Ben Holladay and JT Meleck are 2 of my favorite small distillers I've come across in the past year. The Holladay Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse is even more like Makers Mark for me. It's got big cinnamon and all the funky/smoky/charred/savory notes that I think Makers purposely avoids but that's why I love it. It's an unrefined Makers Cask strength...I have the Rickhouse proof, 3 SiB picks and 2 more on the way... I can't say enough good things about it.
Just picked up a bottle of the bottle in Bond soft red wheat and it was fantastic. I just happened to find a store near me that carries the Rickhouse proof so I grabbed a bottle today. Thank you for the great reviews
Excellent review Judge! Completely different from the one at the meeting. I just picked up a soft red wheat. I'm going to get my hands on o e of those.
I have a 7 year single barrel Ben Holladay distillery pick that is leather and caramel and is one of my favorite whiskeys. They are a nice change from the typical Kentucky bourbon.
Subscribed! Love your enthusiasm and direct, honest assessments and the 'mmm's that tell me when you dig a sip! 'I need another sip-oh gosh. Wow!' Love your open reactions! I like the Bib Soft Red Wheat so I'll keep an eye out for this now, thanks!
Another great review. I appreciate your thoughtfulness! Also, the history notes are nice, I only notice you and Mash & Drum doing that, it completes the review.
Every year, from Super Bowl to St Patty Day, no alcohol for Jimmy. Every year, I ask myself, why do I do this? lol. I have yet to try any of the Ben Holladay offerings but looking forward to it in the future. Cheers Judge
It's incredible and Ben Holladay are doing some incredible things! Their Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof is standing tall in a slugfest against Weller IMO and I am a huge Weller fan! The Straigth Bourbon stands next to it's Wheater kin tall and proud!
I have run through 3 bottles of the BiB, 2 Rickhouse proof bourbons, and my wife bought me the Soft Red Wheat for Valentine's day. That is over the last 4 months. The Wheater isn't my favorite, it's good, but I get the same note of straw bails that I get off of most wheaters, it's not offputting, but it places it a step behind the bourbon. Tonight I saw a SiB bourbon from them, but I was there to get a Peerless Double Oak, so I had to pass, if the store has it on payday, I will own one.
Just picked one up. I’m here in Georgia for $75.99 and man it’s so good 👍
Still looking for one of these.... finally got a sweet red wheat BIB.... 0:54
Congrats bruh
I just bought this bottle today at my local allocation drop here in Utah. Just pulled the cork and got a pour to join you all. Cheers.
Enjoy
Just picked up one of these in the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach Area. Coastal NC towns have great selection if you find the right stores!
That’s awesome!!
good review
Appreciate it!

Thnx Mike Dee
You'll enjoy the tour it's a cool facility and Kyle the Master distiller is young but knows what he's doing.

With being 20 minutes away from this distillery doesn’t disappoint. Love all their bourbon. Can’t go wrong.
Must be nice , I’m like 11 hrs and want to go take a tour one day
That’s awesome
I'm right there with you, about 10 mins away
Under $50 total wine and more in my area in Missouri

Bought my first bottle of Ben Holladay a few weeks ago. Looking forward to trying it!
Troy my man… you’re gonna love it. Especially a few days after it opens up. Cheers to the family, give them my best please.
Proud to say I live within 40 minutes of the distillery as well. They are producing a good product and glad I have such easy access to them. Cheers!
That is awesome!
I live in Missouri and that bottle is one of my three favorites

Thnx Myron. Yeah definitely different than the one we had.

I have been drinking ever since
Cheers !!

I live near their distillery & love their products!
That’s awesome!
I bought the 6 yr bottled in bond and really like it.
Another great review. I appreciate your thoughtfulness! Also, the history notes are nice, I only notice you and Mash & Drum doing that, it completes the review.
Much appreciated!
That bottle is on my seelbach list, sounds like I ll like it. I think I will mix MM c.s. with 1792 f.p. this weekend too. Thanx
I was able to find Ben Holladay products (NOT this Rickhouse Proof, however) at two different liquor stores in Augusta, GA in January 2024
Just recently hit the Atlanta market, including the wheat version. Excellent bourbon.

Lol Jimmy
I really like this. Even if it doesn't make sense given the recipe, it honestly kind of reminded me of stagg jr.
I am on the east coast...I find Ben Holladay everywhere and anywhere
Interesting
I’ve heard the Rickhouse is the bottle to get. It’s on my list!
Really enjoy the BH Rickhouse, and the BH Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse is even better IMO. 🥃
On my list to try. A buddy of mine had the Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof and said it was delicious.
Opening the soft red wheat tonight. I'll definitely get this from seelbach this coming week. Great review I can't wait to get this.
Big fan of the soft red wheat, the rickhouse is about $65 local and the BiB is about $55 in KY/TN
There SB BP’s are fantastic. I can’t wait for them to get a little more age to them.
I have seen those on line but hard to pull the trigger with so many good whiskey out there
Love this bottle. Got mine off Seelbach as well. All we have in AL is the Holladay BiB

Holladay is one of the best distilleries around. Love this and their bottled in bond offerings
I did find Ben Holladay in New Hampshire. It's a good bourbon for sure
I have this one, very good. $65 to $70 here. Great review
Hope to see this soon.
I love this bottle, and I get a cherry bomb when I drink it
I'm sorry if I missed it but what was th a mash bill if there was one?
I believe it was listed during the video. Can’t recall tho..
Ben Holliday is good. The Rick house is great
Indeed
only had the bottle and bond and thought it was decent
Had a couple of offerings from this distillery, I wasn’t a fan of either
