- Supporting young people and women in rural communities is at the heart of IFAD's work.
Nadeeshani is a mushroom farmer and is one of 270 women who received support from the Smallholder Agribusiness Partnerships Programme . This nation-wide programme aims to sustainably raise the incomes and improve the quality of diet of 57,500 smallholder households.
IFAD works with young entrepreneurs to help their businesses grow. Thanks to a loan Nadeeshani's business has grown, and she now sells her mushrooms to one of the country's largest supermarket chains.
