This was my camping ground, up until early adult hood. However, I would air on the side of caution swimming in it, not because of the algae but how cold it can get. Many a good swimmer have drowned there.
This was basically my back garden growing up, was a 15 minute walk from my house, only problem is that the land owner has now destroyed the area by logging every available tree turning the area barren and devoid of life.
I have been free diving for 33 years but I bought a new snorkel with both top and bottom valves and it is bloody useless! Plus, when I dive, I find the bottom of my mask fills up with water even after I have cleared it, Possibly because I have a gouty moustache.
