  • In todays video, we take a 20 minute drive to the Industrial Town of Port Talbot in South Wales to disover a gem i can only describe as the National Park of the Area! Beautiful clear turquoise waters surrounded by tall pines, it is not a place to be missed. Click Subscribe and join us as we look into the history of the place, skim some stones and take shelter under a tree when we get caught in the rain!

I used to live in Brombil between the age of 10-20. Absolutely loved walking up there.

Went every day for 15 years up here, it was basically my ' back garden'

Used to swim there back in the 70s - seems smaller now, but I was just a kid so that's understandable I guess. Bloody freezing too - even in the hot summer.

The water is fresh from the hill streams, therefore almost ice cold. Back in the day when the water level was about 10ft lower and the banks we not so overgrown, we used to run and bomb from the banks, or paddle from the side. Only mad fools would swim across as the fear of cramp put most off.

@@howardstephens5003 Absolutely ,30 years ago had a scuba mask and went to the middle, decided to swim down and check out the bottom where I found couple of dead sheep and loads of 45 gallon drums. Immediately shot to the surface lol. Water was so cold, could feel the cramps coming into my arms, went so bad a could not move them. Had to use my legs to kick to the other side, but was much steeper and harder to get out. Smashed my mask trying to get out of the water as I looked like a beached seal as my arms were not working. Never again.Young and dumb lol.

No, it’s like many old quarries, amazing turquoise waters, which are super cold and have caught many people out over the years, who’ve sadly ended up dead.
