7:40 makes sense...will try this with the long-cord tie up at 19:28. I love the idea of the ties living permanently on the treadles, then pegged on the top of whichever lamm is needed for the draft. Seems like it will save my back! I'm sure I'll find lots of uses for all of the short cords I won't be using too!

Another wonderful thing about Texsolv cord is that you can splice 2 pieces together to make a longer run and not compromise strength - it's simple! Just line the 2 pieces you want to splice together and put one end (same end) through the other piece and do the same thing on the other ends and presto! I follow the Texsolv recommendations of going through the second to last hole just to be on the safe side.

What kind of loom is that at 10:00 talking about tie-ups? I just got a loom identical to this with no maker's mark, it has the same curvy details on the short cross braces. If anyone has even a guess, please reply and let me know! I'd love to know some history about this loom.

I wish we knew! It is a super cute loom and weaves very well (lucky is the person who has one like it!)

If I made a mistake in my warp and I have To add a heddle, how can it be done?

    • @EugeneTextileCenter

You'll want to tie a repair heddle. That's a great idea for a future video. It's easy, but it's harder to describe in words than show you. Make sure you're subscribed to our channel so that you get a notification when we add the video
