  • A pretty much non-scientifically based introduction to Freudian Slips. Sigmund Freud thought unconscious processes to be the reason for misspeaking, miswriting, misreading, or forgetting. Potential explanations are: repression, seeking pleasure and avoiding pain, inner conflict, uncomfortable memories, or other conducive or inhibiting factors.

I just realized that you must have read all the Freud's books in the original language! That's so nice!!

Haha, I've read some of his writings here and there but definitely have not read all of his writings in German! Sometimes both Freud and Jung are even easier for me to read in English - because the translator has already put in the work to digest their work.

I enjoyed your video! It made me laugh on more than one occasion. Your explanation was clear, simple and funny. Excellent for teaching some of the basics concepts and principles of psychoanalysis.

You should do his Seduction Theory. That is the only one that really matters.

This theory is part of his former affect-trauma model if I'm not mistaken which I briefly covered in this old video: th-cam.com/video/MoUnC0E5ixA/w-d-xo.html

Question: I’ve been repressing a certain though or theme of though that I consider sinful. I’ve been repressing it for 7 years. One day I began getting more intrusive thoughts (because of OCD), tried to repress them as always and ended up with my eyes closed and head in my hands because I was trying to repress the thoughts, then I thought “I know what I’m doing” and then had a though I would consider sinful. Does this sound like a freudian slip? I didn’t genuinely want to have any though like that. I wanted to exact opposite in face….but somehow it’s like it broke though. Thoughts?

Hello there, I am an international student who wants to admit in a Clinical Psychology Masters program. As far as you know, is it very difficult to get admission with an average bachelor result?

I’ve borne many burdens in my life, but Freudian slips are not ones I’ve had to wear… I mean _bear._ 🙄
