Hopefully we get mine started next week, yes to the 80mm skirts needing trimming( we found that problem) but no other clearance needed on the case with the 74 crank and shorter rods. Oh and we added long case savers too.
81 pistons clear. no trimming needed. In hind sight I just might have gone with the 75 and short rods. if they clear the cam and are 5mm shorter. the deck height might turn out almost perfect. the 69.5 needs .150 in shims to get to 60. which sucks. Then you also might get stock pushrods to fit without spacers or AA cut to fits. those cut to fits and lifters are $$$$....
You being a progressive Weber fan I'm really surprised you didn't look into running a single zenith carb. It's still period correct and the single 2 barrel carb is a really great setup. I've ran several of them.... Just a thought
yea the duals came in the kit. I think those came in later. The 40 hp had the bug spray manifold. I have one of those bug sprays for a 40...and they Totally suck. Zenith were great
There is a lot of information to cover in this video for people who are building these engines. that is what this video is for. Not just entertainment I will have others for that soon.

I had one once in a bug you had to down shift to pull in a drive way, lol
If in good order they weren't bad , but they did need every one of those 36 hps
Good.Luck.
