We have watched many great videos and opinions about a game you use to love back in the day. Though grinding in this game is never ending chore to strive to get the best gear we still love this game. Even though the developers of this game keep stacking crap on us to make it extremely difficult since day one. It would be awesome to have you weigh in on what is going on today with the Division 2. The developers want to make seasonal characters and just want to use the same playbook as Diablo 4. I personally would have them better say that they will no longer support or make new content because they are working on Division 3 than to be butchered and punished for no reason. SkillUp we the Division community need you. I hope you can weigh in on this issue. My apologies that we are asking for help on this new video. Thank you 🙏
Interesting thing about the Steam lawsuit, the law firm backing the case is allegedly the same law firm that has an ongoing lawsuit for 5 billion dollars with playstation. Not sure if the information i found is accurate mind you.

It's been eight years since Prime 4's first announcement, and seventeen years since Metroid Prime 3 ended on a teaser of Sylux as antagonist. Metroid fans are the most patient on the planet.

@@jamesthomas2410 Never cancelled, but development for Prime 4 was restarted 5 & a half years ago, so I see where you'd get that idea from.
I STILL remember one of Nintendo's heads making a TH-cam video apologizing to the Metroid fans. Begging our pardon because they had to scrap Prime 4 because it wasn't shaping up to meet their standards, asking for our patience as they restarted from scratch, now working with Retro who originally helped them with the trilogy.
From that brief clip of actual gameplay, I'm still excited. I love that they wanted the game to be a good one, even if that meant starting over. I personally hope it's more like Echos than Corruption, but I'll take anything Prime now with a grateful smile.
Or maybe they are so stressed that they explode outside with everything 😂. Tbh I'm one of them, yesterday was just *Chefs kiss* when they showed Metroid, Marvel Vs Capcom, Mario "destroy" parties and Mario and Luigi brother ship. So damn happy 🎉

Hello SkillUp, I know it sucks but I really appreciate you covering industry layoffs and closures, I was part of the industry and the reality that I'll need to change careers is becoming more and more of a realization. There are hundreds of people like me a lot of whom have more experience or pedigree then I do on every job posting I can find. The industry wouldn't just need to recover but to go through a resurgence for any hope of me gaining employment again.

For those who don't know, the reason Capcom haven't been putting a lot of their older stuff/collections on XBox is down to the engine they used for these games, the MT Framework engine. They stopped supporting it on XBox a while back, presumably due to a poor cost-return equation, and I believe they instead switched to... well, the Switch instead. Any games that use the RE Engine is easier to put on XBox, but not stuff based on that MT Framework one.

This is just a theory at this time. Plenty of MT games are on Xbox and plenty of RE Engine games are on Switch.

You can ABSOLUTELY judge something based on the quality of its writing. The first chapter of a book will usually give a good indication if the author is actually a good writer or not, the nature of the tone and whether it will jive with you or not. While it may not necessarily give indication of where the plot is going, it is usually a good indication of its overall quality.

Oh my god. Marvel vs Capcom collection will be a day one buy for me. MVC2 is my fav fighting game of all time and 20 years ago when I worked at a Gumby’s Pizza place they had the arcade machine in the lobby and I played it every day while working there because it only cost a quarter! It’s finally Marvel versus Capcom two on a platform that’s not ridiculous. I’m also very glad I didn’t buy that arcade one up cabinet that was poorly made

Also in that interview he said that “lay offs won’t happen while I’m in charge”, echoing other Japanese studios where execs have taken a pay cut and that “staff worried about their jobs don’t make bold games”. Probably worth mentioning in the lay offs section, Skill!

Working somewhere doesn't mean you're an expert at everything that place stands for.
I forget the mythical figure, but the vast majority of any company is mostly people unrelated to the actual product, things like HR, support staff, payroll, IT, lawyers, and so on. The dude who cleans the toilets at a Big 4 accounting firm still works there, but I wouldn't go to him for financial advice.
More importantly though I'm just tired of hearing about it in an attempt to incite rage, I stopped reading the news because the constant click bait rage bait they all give, and shillup has been doing it all year trying to get us worked up about lay offs.
Is it a big deal? Maybe, but I'm not watching his youtube channel for an excuse to get mad. I just want video game news and I'm getting closer and closer to unsubbing every time he goes off on unrelated tangents about how evil everyone is.

Ralph clearly cares about the people who make games and wants players to be informed about it. For us working in games, I imagine the majority of us very much appreciate it. If you're tired of it, imagine how people working in games feel about the constant uncertainty as well as those whose lives have been affected by layoffs.
If you don't care about people, realise the games you play are gonna get worse as people are stressed and anxious. As companies squeeze more out of fewer people, things are gonna fall behind and quality will drop.
Just find another youtuber who doesn't talk about.
@@meow2175 AAA game publishers are exactly that though, it's harder to pretend otherwise and call it normal because it isn't. In fact, our gaming industry currently is so absurdly broken that the event in the last 1 year alone effectively ranks among the worst in the history of tech related industry.
And you really should just unsub from ralph if his comment on those bothers you, because part of the reason why a lot of ppl listens to him is that he didn't just gloss that over and pretend there's nothing wrong, kinda the opposite and rightfully so given the catastrophic events of even just the last 1 year. And he isn't going to change just for you when so many more of his subscribers are subscribing precisely because he doesn't turn a blind eye to it.
You can go to the more mainstream gaming news sources (ones that are almost all owned by IGN now) if you want less unpleasant news of our gaming industry. Those typically avoids putting too much reports and comments on this dark side of our game industry since that does come with certain negative effect to their bottom line.

My earbuds cut out after you said "The other planet's name was Marfark- Wait what?" so it was just silently zooming in and out for several seconds and I was dying of laughter because I thought it was part of the joke that you were so baffled by the name.
The best part about that whole event is the community has been trying and failing to get those mines for like 2 months now. And they WILLINGLY said "Fuck em" and saved the virtual children instead.
I genuinely hope Airship syndicate land on their feet. The developer clearly has a lot to offer.

I feel like nintendo really anticipated having to transition to new hardware. The transition to the Wii U may have been one of the most important reasons the console flopped so hard, there were no games for years because developers weren't used to HD so game either took longer to develop or straight up released incomplete like Mario tennis ultra smash. With the switch I feel like nintendo is using these last 2 years to keep fans happy with smaller games and remakes while also giving time to developers to get used to the new amount of detail the new hardware demands.
The real question is...will it remain a full generation behind in power, and graphical quality, or finally finally be on par with sony, and xbox in terms of console power. I predict it will be in a weird place between the two, slightly better than like a ps4, but not where it should be.

The real question here is what would Nintendo and the people buying the next console get from that?
@@MrPF It needs to be stronger for the simple fact that so many third party games run like crap on it. So many games had to skip the switch cause it just couldnt run them. Im aware nintendo will make it work for all their first party offerings, but having it be on par with everything else is a necessary step at this point I would say. On the flip side I guess it doesn't matter. It will outsell anything and everything either way.
@@jakeryan2805If it's about as strong as a PS4 then it will have access to basically the entire cross-gen period. And *if* the CPU is strong enough, they can even have a lot of ports that absolutely butcher the graphics like we have right now. I'm cautiosly optimistic that this will work out

Honestly: It brought tears to my eyes when they revealed the MP4 trailer. This series means so much to me and MP1 was my first so I hold the Prime Trilogy close to my old gettin gamer heart.

The thing I heard that I liked the most about Dragon Age Veilguard was that FF12 was an inspiration. If you're trying to make a party based, action game where your companions are still capable of complicated actions, FF12 is what I would follow.

When I first saw that Zelda game and heard that it was now Zelda going off to save Link, I won't lie, my eyes began to roll... and then they showed the Pokemon-like mechanics 😮 That could be an interesting one for sure.
I would argue that if your intro sequence has enough dialogue problems that many people notice and comment, then it’s probably telling about the rest of the game.
exactly, i honestly cant think of 1 game that got cooked in the comments on its trailer that ended up being really good. If the dialogue is cringe and gameplay looks lackluster then take it at face value and safely assume thats the entire game. Dragon age doesnt deserve your optimism

@@ddub6137 Anymore that's like every game though, I personally don't take any of that into account because the internet has become so much knee jerk rage bait that rarely reflects the real quality of what is being screamed about. I don't think this game is going to be game of the year as it looks like they're hewing pretty close to Inquisition tone/visuals but that doesn't mean it is going to be a bad game. They also stated that they cut out portions of that first level to keep spoilers to a minimum which means we only got to see stuff that had either no context or talked about the last game. So we haven't really even seen the intro sequence. I'll hold my verdict until we get to see more gameplay with actual skills as very few games look fun or engaging when most of what you see in action is the default attack animation on repeat.

I think Doom 2016 had some bad trailers; the online sentiment at the time was that they were cashing in on the IP with a terrible reboot... Until the game came out.

MvC2 being announced randomly in the middle of a Nintendo Direct of all things was absolutely wild. Especially since the community had all but given up hope on the game ever becoming available again.
is steam's 30% cut too much though? you get to host your game on the biggest distribution platform on the PC, you get a cloud service for your player's save files, you get a modding platform, you get a forum, you get a multiplayer/friendlist framework, you get to make market items that you can profit off of, heck when you bring your game out of early access your game gets 5 million guaranteed views to players who enjoy similar games.
it would be great if publishers could choose which features they want and that those would affect steams cut, but i think steam offers a lot of features for those 30%.
Yep, I can guarantee they got a greater than 30% boost in sales by being on Steam instead of anywhere else, which would have also taken a %.
@@Ceece20al lot of of those arguments are made by Apple and Google for their stores. And it still sounds like crap tbh. It doesn’t need to be that high.
The point is they could lower it and still make a huge profit. However, That extra % going to developers would make huge difference for many of them. Particularly the smaller and middle size ones. Hell, it might even mean jobs saved, and more invested in games.
The issue is people like Steam and don’t want to criticize it.
@makasete30 Those aren't really comparable bc Google and Apple control the OS (Android, IOS) giving them much greater leverage. With steam there is absolutely nothing stopping you from buying games on another store like epic or Xbox. The only thing in this lawsuit that is a legitimate concern to me is the allegation that steam is forcing devs to not sell their games for lower prices on other stores.
Steam also benefits from the game being on their platform it's mutually beneficial. 30% is not necessary and fucks over small devs

It's interesting because I'm an old fan and did not feel excited about the new title, but my younger brother, who has no affiliation with the older titles, has said that the game caught his eye.
This could totally be the angle EA is shooting for with the new release, considering how long ago the original fan favorite came out.

For me and the crowd I hang out with, the problem is that we went from 10+ abilites to 3, that they downgraded to only 2 active companions as compared to 3. And lastly how they completely abandoned The Keep. Yes it was buggy, but it guaranteed that your actions actually had concequences across all the game.
Basically everything that defined the Dragon Age games has been abandoned for their new playerbase, leaving the old ones behind.
It feels like Dragon Age Andromeda 2.
The Thing game did alot of interesting stuff for the time.
The Fear / Trust system was an interesting concept, though it meant, for me at least, that your team mates wouldn't give you back the ammo you need to kill the monsters that would then cause them to blow their brains out out of terror...

Im genuinly excited for dragon age ive played them all and the combat seems good to me. But i also didnt care for the tactical stuff. The games havent been like origins for like 15 years idk why anyone expected it to go back
The switch is seven years old, which is about the right age for a console. If it were >8 years old, it would be rather old, but as it stands, it's just about at end of life.
I agree. Everyone acts like it’s well past its life time when that’s just silly… other than the fact that we desperately need a power upgrade for a Nintendo console.
@@Dyrvega thats because when the switch came out, the chip it used was already years old, so it was almost already outdated only a year or 2 after launch.

14:30 do you know why Varric will die in the next Dragon Age game? Because when the Hero made a decision at the end, both other companions were influenced, but Varric did not. Also, Bianca was destroyed, so basically Varric will not be a useful companion. Also when the portal opened, there were 2 ancient gods in the entrance, so he does not has to much going for him. Well, at least he won't be killed with a golf club... I hope.
8:20 I am really hoping a better version for next system but don't worry. This game will run smooth 60 fps on switch as well.

For example, paying person(s) $10M in stock-based compensation doesn’t cost the company as much as $10M in salaries due to a variety of regulations and market dynamics. I hope that makes sense 😊
