I was with Hillsborough county fire at the time Tampa is the county seat of Hillsborough County. I can remember when this truck was brand new. It was all white as the man said.. This truck was housed in the original station 1 on Zack Street built in 1911. It dates back to horse drawn apparatus. It was a tight fit indeed. Also like he said you haven’t had fun until you have raised a Bangor ladder. And like he also said I never used one other than in training. Incidentally the old station 1 is now the Tampa fire museum.
Great labor of real love. Our dept had a 1949 Pirsch Tiller. The Capt would say " keep it between the curbs.'
Just a great history sir❗thanks from MN👍👍

I would have loved that when I worked as a roofer. I hope to see that beautiful truck restored and in parades and shows!
That would be a Detroit Diesel.
Good luck finding parts for it. Its hard enough trying to find parts for our 1990s that is still in service, great trucks.
Most of it will have to be fabricated. That’s why the truck ended up here.
There's a few of those trucks parked in a old lot here in Arizona
I have snaps of the old girl when she was stationed at 13's there next to Busch Gardens a lot of years ago.
How much does he want for the fire hoses and Bunker gear
I don’t thing much of that is present on the truck.
Seems to be an hopeless project, so many bodywork is missing. All the head light units etc.
You may be right.
I raised & climbed a Bangor church rasise in parking lot WHAT FUN &&;^%"""
I'd have someone who's an expert at restoring vehicles do it and not some amateur
Good point, that’s what you would do.
Danny Fernandez was the paint and body guy at the f.d. shop. He is the one who painted it red.
