I think my favourite was the anthurium rugulosum lluruqui. I like the texture the leaves seem to have.
But I'll be honest, I live in a flat that isn't super big (so I avoir plants that get super big with huge leaves, I just got a monstera tauerii that's bigger for now, and I took that one because it shouldn't go too huge), and where I get in winter okay-ish light at the kitchen window and the living room windows, but in summer it's super bright and gets sun from early morning until 3-4 pm. So right now most of my plants are still at the windows, although I put a milky filter on the down part of two windows to try to make it not too scorching, I fear I'll have to move most plants away from the windows in summer and that will be a struggle XD

Hey Plants and spreadsheets (awesome username, two of my favourite things 💚📊) I get it I was the same a few years back really was quite scared of them, but I have to say since getting some that were quite mature and not having to deal with the babying them stage which I find tricky when they are young seedlings, I have to say I have kinda got the hype about them now. Some of them are more easy-going than my philos. Great choices on the philos too 👏👏👏

Hey Sherry, that is awesome, is it easy enough to care for? its the only one that has had some more yellowing on the oldest leaves, but I think that is likely shipping stress and the cold when I got them.

Hi Memo! Did you see Gil at the event? She was there with Joe and Kyle. :)
P sharonii simply has a very fine root system. It took a while for my juvenile one to become stable, but now she's happy.
My P patriciae is extremely easy and grows like crazy. I just don't let her dry out.
    A. lutheri, looking forward to how it does for you. Mine came in December, and it's still acclimating. I should probably give her more light. She's at the very back of my plant room, up on a shelf. ^^
Cold to the touch - wondering if shipping in a box would actually be better outside of summer. At least they'd be protected from Ecuador to Europe. My shipment in December didn't even skip a beat, not the Ps and not the As. That said, Ecuagenera is coming to my plant event in Prague in June. I have a feeling I will be going home with a similar number of plants. :D I am definitely ordering the A friedrichsthalii, A wendlingerii, and the A metallicum. And maybe some of their hybrids.
Good luck with the 2nd attempt with the P heterocraspedon. Their P lynamii is doing great for me.
A cupulispathum - are you really surprised? Hello, it has "spathum" in there. :D Sure it will bounce back.
Regarding your metallicum, ask Jos from BestBuds. :)
Oh, the A queremalense was the only one that did croak on me. But now I have like 6 props. :) I am not mad.
Overall, my Ecuagenera haul was nice. Gosh, sorry for the long comment. But I figured I'd not post one comment per plant this time. Haha! Hope all is well - Αγκαλιά.

Heeeeeeeeey Tanya 👋👋👋👋 I did I saw all three as I was leaving (was a flying visit) they were coming in. It was so nice to see them again, it's been ages.
Wow love the information bomb, trust you to have most of the plants I got and also have commentary on them, that is so so awesome, thank you so much for taking the time to write it in the comments.
Interesting on the sharonii, yeah I saw the roots were super fine. Interestingly that one is seeming much happier, currently thank the patriciae. but good to know re moisture on the patriciae. Also seeing yours that time on our video, solidified that fact that I was getting one, so I have to thank you big time for that.
interesting on the lutherii, I have it in medium light maybe I should try giving it a bit more then.
oooh yeah you are right the box would have made more sense for sure. I should ask some of the people that didn't order for pick up at the pop up, what their plants were like, were they also cold?
Nice that you have got Ecuagenera coming to your event, it is going to be EPIC!!!! Yeah I can see you going home with a similar amount for sure. Good choices on what you want to pick up.
Good to know on the lynamii and also yeah so far so good with the heterocrapsedon, I really hope it stays that way as I really like that plant.
yeah the spathum should have given it way for sure. I am sure it should do ok, there were 2 in the pot, down to one leaf one each now, but they are looking on, just a bit of a rehab to go so should be fine.
Ohhhh I will reach out to Jos for sure. Yeah all good here, big hugs back, do let me know when you are back in the UK and we can arrange to meet up for sure.

Hope you’ll share how the recent Patriciae settles in….. I have three medium Patricae’s in Ecuagenera shopping cart…… the question I’m between in one potted US Patriciae vs three bare root Ecuagenera Patricae’s, as I prefer to group three or more junivels around the base of a moss pole…… Mahalo Memo…..

Hey Al 👋👋👋👋👋 (love it I always look out for your Aloha in the messages now 👀😊) Thanks glad you enjoyed! Ohhhh interesting I like the vibe you are going for with the 3 around the base of a moss pole, that would be one epic pot! Yeah that is a tough choice the 1 US based one is likely to be in better condition (possibly) but then the three would give a bushier pot. I get the conundrum for sure. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔💚🌿

    • @aloyer7488
      @aloyer7488 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Houseplantygoodness A couple more conundrum’s: I recently received 3 small starter pots of Narrow form Esmeraldense, that had a total of nine starts, some tiny, some a bit bigger. I’m pretty certain they are tissue cultures, but they survived their journey to Maui, and are doing well. Then I saw two juvenile P. No ID’s on Etsy, for a good price, look Narrow Esmeraldense. Well, they both arrived from Ohio to Maui yesterday. (The No ID conundrum), but the 2 juveniles are a year ahead of the 9 starts…
Conundrum #2, I recently got a Patricae Hybrid, that was long & leggy. I chopped her into 6 cuttings, which are now growing around one moss pole. 4 of the 6 cuttings already have new growth points sprouting. The 2nd conundrum is what the hybrid is??? Patricae X ? So I’m still yearning a regular (or three) Patricae.
PS: Last week I received a Philodendron SP Esmeraldas from Florida. ***I think there are a few SP names for this plant*** Memo, it’s BEAUTIFUL & a must have on your wishlist!!!!! Aloha & Mahalo for all the great content……….

    It’s truly stunning plant.
I also got Philodendron patriciae ( I believe I possibly got the bigger version $50). It’s gigantic beauty but to be honest most of the foliage got pretty badly beaten up in transport and new growth point snapped in half🙈
Anyway.. did you mention you basically put your imported anthuriums to pon straight away?
How long do you keep your plants in prop boxes to acclimate?
Sorry for questions I just don’t wanna screw up 🙈

    • @Houseplantygoodness
      @Houseplantygoodness  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey Michaela, oh cool cool I was wondering how a bigger one might have coped with the pop up pick up too. Shame it had that level of damage, hopefully both yours and mind will bounce back. I mean I know that the patriciae is definitely on the more sensitive side. Yeah this time I went straight into Pon on all of them actually, last time I added them in water for a few hours first, so this time I thought I would try straight into the medium as the roots, generally seemed ok. in terms of the plants that I put into prop boxes to acclimate, in the winter I usually have them in for 2-3 months, but in the summer usually less. no no need to apologies I get it 😊🌿💚

I really like the friedrichsthalii, mine is so much hardier than the other anthuriums. I am pretty surprised by the rugulosum, I thought the leaf will be less thick.
I think your “metallicum” might be closer to a magnificum, I was readying up on some anthurium literature and it seems that magnificum has petioles with 4 ribs (quadrangular) that separates it from other similar anthuriums, I think yours has that feature?
Ecuagenera is having it 30 year anniversary soon, and I think there will be a huge sale? Maybe it would be a good time to pick some more plants.
You were talking about anthurium leafs ripping a few videos ago, I wonder if the 3 lobbed anthuriums are adapted because of that?

Oh no! Your P. patriciae got cold damage?! That’s awful. I just got a patriciae seedling that came cold damaged as well. It came in a well packed box with a heat pack in outdoor temps not below 50 degrees. The 3 cloud forest type anthuriums which came with it emerged unphased. That little one though, after two months of stable temps and high humidity on a heat mat is finally coming out of shock. They are sensitive for sure. Curious to know how you rehabbed it. Is there already a video on that?

Interesting. At the pop ups here, they encourage us to check order at pickup to resolve any issues. I might, ok, I would have traded that Anthurium in for a better one.
I really like that Anthurium friedrichsthalii. I like the leaf shap a lot. I’m still staying away from Anthurium though. Monstera and Alocasia already have dibs on my big plant spaces with the odd pothos and philodendron mixed in. 😊

Hey Richard, yeah that would have been a good plan and if i am being honest they did not encourage (me at least, not sure about everyone else) to check and if I hadn't been in such a hurry to get back home to be with family I would have likely done that. Good choice on the Anthurium friedrichsthalii, but yeah I get what you mean, I fully understand the limitation of space especially when you have large plants 😜💚🌿

Very unusual and unseen plants! Lots of fun with the three-lobed ones to be fair 😁 I have to agree with you, the event was indeed a bit of carnage, but very fun and joyful
Now... It is my first time rehabbing imports and I need some wisdom from other P. patriciae parents! (SOS, HELP) the first couple of days I rehabbed it in water and then moved in tree fern fiber with some SoilNinja semi-hydro mix - good root cleaning and treated in hydrogen peroxide solution, the plant came with a new growth that the first day was turgid but from the second day went floppy and still is, no signs of rot at the moment. Disclaimer: it does not fit my little greenhouse so it has been outside in my bedroom at 65-70% humidity level (my partner is being very understanding bless 😂)
    Any input/comment/help/support is kindly received
Thank y'all, lots of love and fingers crossed for all these baby imports! xx

Hey Valeria, yeah I didn't realise I got so many three lobed ones 😅😅😅 yeah definatly fun and joyful that is for sure 😁😁😁😁
ohhhh bless yeah defo SOS from other P. patriciae parents. To be fair just monitor it at the moment it doesn't seem to be struggling too much. Mine was floppy after the first 3 days, but I had it in Semihydro, so I took the chance and watered it yesterday and it has since perked back up. I can see the roots and they are doing fine. But yeah if anyone watches this and they have experience with your conditions growing it, defo please help Valeria 🙏😊🌿💚

Could you have just bought them at the pop up and not have to pay for any shipping ?

Hey Katie, yeah probably, but I think they only bring some plants for people who have not ordered, usually the really popular ones and I kinda wanted some specific plants, so didn't want to risk it 😊🤷🏻😅💚🌿

The plants at the pop up were a lot more expensive than the prices they are on the ecuagenara website

Tengo que ser sincera 😂😉 me gustan las plantas llamadas " raras" o caras o exóticas ? ...si claro que sí ! , compraría alguna yo ? no !
