I was very impressed that you weren't doing this in the kitchen, then you stole tape measure from your wife's dress making box. I used a piece of string to measure the length of my pipes I need to replace the brake pipe that goes from the front to the rear IRS I will do what I did with my MX5, take the old pipe off and pass it to a professional to get a new pipe made up.
Thanks again for a wonderful well presented video with some good fun in it. Keep it up.

Thank you so much for watching the video and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it! It feeds the TH-cam algorithm and helps my channel publicity.
You can certainly use this technique on your MX5. Spools of NiCopp / Kunifer can be had in all sizes. There is a straightening tool. that looks like a sex toy for blokes used to straighten coiled tubing. I opted not to get the tools because it was cheaper to buy straight tubing lengths than to purchase a spool and the tool. If I have to do any fuel lines (which I suspect so) I will pick up the straightener. Though there were many times when I had to order more tubing because of screw ups, that I wished I'd just purchased the straightener and a 25 ft (7 1/2 meter) spool.
Anyway, It's odd that you should mention the kitchen; because, well, I was setting up in the kitchen when I had a life altering experience happen. The video I posted is actually an edited down version of the first version. The first edition is on TH-cam but not (publicly) published th-cam.com/video/qi0eRgQbHJE/w-d-xo.html. I chose not to post it because most people who view this channel could care less about me, their interest is in the content, and I didn't want to be one of "those" people. The ending explains why I haven't posted in over a year. I'm working on Part 2 for both versions of the video in case I decide to publicly publish it some point.
      Sincerely,
      Mark @ Jagmods

Very interesting with the brake pipe, I used to have 7 1/2 " but old age shrinks everything :)

Mark, you videos are of the best quality, little things make all the difference, fixed camera, good lighting, white backgrounds (sheets & white paper), clear descriptions, no waffle. Can you do one how to bleed the brakes on an XJS. I understand there are a few types of servos and pistons. I am so sorry about your son, I can not imagine what you are going through, but keep up the videos. I am sure they help. There are a lot of people out there that will listen if you want to talk.

Thank you so much for the kind words about the video. This whole TH-cam thing has been quite the learning experience. My first videos I struggled with good sound quality and keeping the content in frame. I can’t see what’s actually in frame and being filmed until after I’ve the scene is completed. Usually I have one go to get it right. It’s a challenge.
Putting these videos together is a huge commitment of time, Organizing the content takes a takes a week (several hours a day) The video shoot takes up a full day. The editing works out to be about 2 hours per minute of video. sometimes I stay up all night just to meet a self imposed timeline.
The IRS is about ready to get stuffed in a Jag, I'm just not sure which one yet. Since is a 3:31 to 1 PowerLoc Diff, I’d like to put it in a Jag that will really benefit from the lower gear ratio. Then I will cover bleeding the brakes. I highly recommend getting speedi-bleeders. Doorman part number 12701. Description 3/8 x 24 (3/16) Bleeder screws. These bleeders have a check valve built into the bleeder. For Jag’s it makes life so much easier, and can actually be done by one person.
I’m considering making remote bleeders for the rear. I’ll have to pick more pipe though. I burned through what I had doing the video & screwing up.
This is the first video that I’ve done without my Son. He was my first audience / quality control. Losing a child leaves a whole in your world which makes everything else irrelevant and purposeless. As a parent, the guilt I feel for missing his call is debilitating. Then to use the content I filmed and was filming when he took his life, is probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. I started the editing in April of 2021. I’m hoping that it might bring some healing to this senseless life altering event.
      Sincerely,
      mark @ Jag Mods

Those short runs are relatively easy.So far gave up after around 3 attempts to hand form a copy of the one piece pipe run from master cylinder to the nearside flex brake hose union.
RHD in my case but would be no different for opposite.
Really need original fit and quality pre formed in steel for these.
But also too many other critical original quality components no longer available. To the point where even the vulnerable to overheating damage, aluminium engine block castings, were flogged off to make coffee tables.

Mark, Thanks again for the brilliant videos and in depth country. I have just had my air conditioning upgraded which is working great. I am also getting the music system upgraded to an Audison system, I will let you know how this goes. I have lots of Jobs lined up for the English winter, including new rear shocks, most of the front and rear rubbers (there's something under there that squeaks) and a full service. Keep up the good work, hope you are keeping well and not using the kitchen for your repairs.

That’s great! You’ve made a lot more progress on your Jag than I have on mine. I’m just finishing up part two of the Jaguar brake lines. I’m just amazed on how much time it takes to edit a video worth watching. 😆
Thank you again for taking the time to comment and share your your Jaguar progress. I look forward to hearing more.
      Cheers Mate!

Once upon a time, the guy up in the north east made these. John farrel I think was his name? He was the only source I knew for them. Making them was too big of a pain in the ass.

Well as soon as I get my stuff together and get my website up, I will be offering pre-bent kits. The real pain in the ass is the cross over pipes. They have to be dead nut on, cause there's very little space between the caliper / handbrake and the IRS cage.

NewHill Garage - Good read. funny John's Pipe jig looks is very similar of what I've got mocked up on a piece of steel.

Mark, Went to put some dodo pads in the jag as I am upgrading my stereo. I knew I should have. Took the carpet up. brushed off the surface rust and hey presto I can see the road! here we go again, get the cutting, grinding and welding gear out..... Again.

I have one of those. 🥺 If your located in the USA then shoot an email to everydayxj.com he’s probably got a floor for you. I’m pretty sure the saloon floors are the same as the XjS floors.
Thanx for the update sorry for the added work. It will be worth it in the end. ☺️

Mark, great to see you back and on such good form. I have replaced the break lines on my XJS subframe with copper. It is a bit of a faff as you say but I managed it in the end - there is a bit of a sting at the end - using the crappy flairing tool tool you so ritghtly discribe. It is also advisable to cut the pipe a bit longer than you need just to give yourself something to play with. Now, after refitting the refurbished sub-frame I find that there is a slight weep on the on the fitting which connects to the flexable pipe coming from the master cylinder at the front, gentlemens dangley bits! A fun weelend awaits. I have also modified the bleeding system with thw Fosseway system which appears to work very well.

Thank you for the kind words. This video was filmed early May 2020 hence the good form. It actually turned out pretty good if you don't mind me saying so myself. I'm assembling the follow up video - thinking how I'm going to top Part One, without unfair advantage of cleavage; and short shorts. lol.
Sorry I didn't get the video out in time for your brake pipes. You've been a great subscriber, and sorry I let you down. . Brake hoses are like like fuel injectors. Look at them harshly and they weep.
I'm contemplating marking remote bleeders. I'm not sure why a person can't use hard brake pipes and route the bleeder some where accessible. What I don't get, if the vender isn't making these one at a time, then why do they cost so much. I think a $100 US doll hairs. is a bit much for $30 worth of brake hoses and fittings. I don't know maybe I'm missing something. If I do make the remote bleeders out of NiCopp and the pipes leak, well, mystery solved.
Thank you again for watching the video, and thank you even more for taking the time to comment.
      Sincerely,
      Mark @ Jag Mods
