Drop all the romance and stick with the concept of post-WW2 Germany and its people dealing with the occupation would make a really intriguing film.
My understanding is that to accurately depict the destroyed Germany would cost major dollars in both practical sets and digital work.. With films like Dunkirk and Their Finest Hour doing so well there has been a market opened up, hence this film. Judgement at Nuremberg was effective in part because much of the city was still in ruins when it was shot.

Whilst I would usually agree with you, if it’s done properly it could be a very good plot line. Many marriages changed after the war, many people changed physically and mentally. Considering back then divorce wasn’t a common thing, something like this would be a good story to tell because it would be very difficult to live with.

Yup. As soon as I saw the affair developing, I was out. Pity. It looked as if it was going somewhere useful or at least interesting.

I can't stand people who say that. If you don't want to know what a movie's about before you watch it don't watch the trailer. If they showed bits that didn't pertain to the story you'd be pissed, too. Or, if they put out a trailer that told you nothing. It's a trailer, it's supposed to make you interested in seeing the film. Feel free to go in blind next time.

It is unrealistic but I wish they have chosen somebody who would be considered beautiful by their standards.
I think one of the reasons she does so many. Films is she's got that classic glamour look that's not got lips like a fish or other breast been done more of the backside been done she's naturally glamorous and also the way she speaks and hold herself that is a lady sorry I'm dyslexic what I meant to say that's why I should have so many classic. Films she was fantastic in Anna Karenina and again in Atonement and literally I think sometime earlier this year I think she got an OBE Emma Thompsons the same only she can do comedy and I think she is now a dame isn't she both brilliant actresses

So Keira Knightly doesn't support movies with the message that a woman getting the support from a man to live a better life but is starring in a movie where she is a married woman cheating on her husband with another man. That totally sends the right message to women and young girls.
Alexander Skarsgard is killing it at the moment, I feel like he is in everything - just saw The Little Drummer Girl and The Hummingbird Project at London film festival and he was brilliant. Really happy to see his career took off. What a talented family that is!

I am horrified that people are saying they will not watch a movie because theme of cheating on your partner is offensive to them. Of course it is but aren't the horrors of WW2 and the aftermath of it far worse! So to say:" I won't watch a movie that shows pointless bloodshed" would sound far more reasonable.
