Prince Unreleased 044 | The Glamorous Life [extended demo] (1983-1984)

The Glamorous was written by Prince, but credited to Sheila E. on her debut album.
(d.Note - This is NOT the version on the ‘Originals’ 2019 release, that was the initial vocal overdubs version from December 28, 1983 - before the next month adding the cello heard in this version.)
Basic tracking took place on 27 December 1983 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California, and the song was originally tentatively intended for Apollonia 6, until Prince began to work with Sheila E. in February 1984, at which time he set the song aside for her.
The Glamorous Life is notable for featuring the first use of saxophone on a Prince-related track, played by Larry Williams.
The track also features the first released appearance of David Coleman (Lisa Coleman’s brother) on a Prince-related track, playing cello.

I agree, his estate (siblings) are horrible, especially his sister. His estate is 2 busy doing money grabs, by selling bedsheets and junk on his website. Thank u 4 viewing, A LOT more songs & videos coming… 🕊️☮️

This sounds pretty damn good save for the tape noise in the middle and that stupid bootlegger watermark at the beginning of the second verse! 😡
I really like the different vocal inflections Prince and Jill put on the "...it ain't much" compared to Sheila's vocals, as well as the whistling you can still hear at points, though more buried in the mix than on Originals.
Jill really is a talented vocal chameleon; you can tell she was trying to sound like Apples for this demo, and it really gives a good feel for how it would have sounded had it gone to A6 -- it's easy to imagine Brenda singing low instead of Prince!
