    All really great ways to make a beard softer. Heat (changing the texture) is sometimes the quickest way to obtain a softer beard. Pair heat with a bird oil and you have a great combo IMO. Great video Dan!

    We are in epic beard growing times that offer great choices to soften and manage the beards! It's always good to have premium, cbd, emu and ostrich oils in your grooming collection and used in rotation. Clothes dried in the dryer are always softer than on the line! Then if you add a few dryer sheets not only softer but reduced static. Beards will react to the right amount heat the same way. Excellent video as usual Dan! 👍👊✌

    Been watching for a few now and like your openness and willingness to keep learning and moving forward. I’ve come to some conclusion we need many different products depending on the beard day. It dictates and if we can read it right we’ll hopefully choose the best options. I think a good beard is a great way to respect yourself no matter what others might think. Start with yourself, stay positive and helping others comes naturally. Right on bro!

    Beard butters seem to do a good job at softening. And Shea butter really being the powerhouse it seems, so much so I went out and bought some by itself and I use just shea butter sometimes on my beard later in the evening or whenever I want to. Softening!! Look forward to trying some other things and learning from commenters.

    I am a big fan of the bird juices and CBD products.
    I have Full Spectrum stuff, Isolate, and Chronic Beard Co uses Broad Spectrum CBD and all of them seem to have their benefits.
    Emu and Ostrich have become pretty much obsessions of mine because on top of the skin and hair benefits and the styling benefits, I'm working a theory that they(especially emu) seem to extend the life and projection of scents.
    My current understanding is leading me to believe that the animal fats help with the scent properties, I just haven't cracked the code yet.
    So until then I'll just enjoy my bird juices.
    Bird Juice Recommendations:
    J's Beard Essentials:Emu
    Magic City: Ostrich
    Stroke Beard Co: Emu
    Black Rebel:Ostrich and Emu
    Southern Beard Co: Emu
    CBD Recommendations:
    Chronic Beard Co: Broad Spectrum
    Beard Octane: Full Spectrum and Isolate
    I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, and I would put Chesapeake and Peake CBD on the list, but one of them is defunct and the other will be in December!
    Luckily by the end of December we will get something even better out of the deal 😎

    I haven't even watched this video before discovering a heat thing. I straighten my beard with a blow drier and a brush since my beard is still short and looks like an afro mane if I leave it curly lol. I was afraid heat will damage the hair making it dry and rough but it actually makes it softer. I guess the heat opens hair cuticles and makes the oil absorb better which then results in softer hair, that's my only explanation lol. Glad to see that I'm actually doing a good thing and not damaging the hair :D

    Rockin the NF hat! Great video. I enjoy the ostrich oil with BRBC to soften my beard. I notice a difference when using 2-3 days in a row. I have tried CBD but don't see a difference in my beard. Could be the brand or the type of CBD? I might need to use it for more then 1-2 days in a row. I think the heat and styling has made a difference. I notice my beard is softer if I follow this schedule: Wash, Rinse, Wash/Co-Wash, Rinse (Repeat). I add the stripping pine tar wash every other week on the wash day. I was co-washing every wash day and I felt as if it was making my beard too soft and was not styling the way I wanted it.

    I've been fortunate that even with my white hair, it is usually very soft in texture, witch is unusual from what I hear from other alabaster brothers out there... the only wiry hairs I have are in the mustache, and they have gotten better with consistent heat routine...
    I said my hair is usually soft, I really notice if I slack off on my water intake, then I get the hay bale feeling...
    But consistent water and a regular use of heat keeps me feeling alright...
    I have tried the "Deep coconut oil treatment" but didn't see any benefit, or at least not enough to outweigh the hassle...
    CBD and "Bird" oils are on my list for the upcoming purchase season...

    Man those things are fine and dandy but what about this using straight up coconut oil to make the beard soft and condition the skin?

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coconut oil isn’t great for everyone. It had a high comedogenic scale rating. Which means it is likely to clog pores

    Is it okay to use oils that are in plastic containers? A lot of people told me to stay away from oils that are in plastic container because the plastic soaks into the oil.

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That effect is called "leaching" and it is not something to worry about if the company is using proper/legal level of fragrances

    Will vitamin E do the same thing? (anti-inflammatory)

    • @DanCBearded
      @DanCBearded  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, higher volumes of vit-e can lead to problems for most beardsmen. Vit-e is mainly used to extend the scent life of an oil by preventing oxidation

      Are you applying heat on a beard that is damp and has oil first and waiting 3-5 minutes after oil? Also, which brand of oil?
      Those matter in a major way. When done properly, your beard will not feel like straw.

      @@DanCBearded yes, after showering, my favorite oil is honest Amish, second favorite is Okay Castor oil, and I never have time to wait a full 3-5 minutes, usually only 1-2 at most, I just don’t like how it feels after heat. I have a natural “Nordic” curly beard, maybe after it grows out more I’ll experiment again when I have more time to do it exactly right.

    (Business beard) After oil is placed in beard I put mustache wax in my mustache. I then use hot brush to comb wax throughout my mustache AND my beard. I don't use very much wax but I can tell it has been used throughout. Beard always feels smooth and soft throughout the day.

    I remember years back. People use to put mayonnaise in their beards lol. I stick with emu oil, cbd and heat for best results. I enjoy bird oils because it helps eliminates extra routines. I can get away with just one routine a day if I use emu oil 5 days a week. My time is valuable and I use it sparingly.
