I have been all about this scent category too this fall. It’s been cold enough here in Central Canada and many of these have been in high rotation: Apres, Boquet Ideal, Bo, By the Fireplace… I also have a beautiful one called Gilded from a Canadian niche brand called Libertine that I’m wearing today and fits right in with all these. ❤
@@ThePerfumeNest they do a sample kit and I have had so much fun exploring their line. There are some really unique ones. Top of my list from them would be Smoked Bloom & Gilded but I also really had fun playing with Sweet Grass, Sex & Jasmine and Fin de Siècle.

I bought yesterday Paragon by Initio and it is beautiful...Palo Santo, bergamot, lavender, plum, sandalwood ...it is extract de parfum and has 10 hours of longevity on my skin. I love that you mentioned Paradiso. It's one of my favorites too, I just love how prominent the wood is in that scent and it feels like a freshie almost, but it's strong enough to endure the cold. Great video, very informative 🙂 I'm sure I'll try some of your favorites this season 🙂🙂

I just picked up Abime from Maison Violet, I think you would love it. I am obsessed with it right now. It has Palo Santo (which I love) & cedar. Steady compliments! Hi Chris. I love woody notes too! For us super budget girlies, there are the fragrances from the Cremo line. You can get 5 of them for about 100.00 on Amazon. Distillers Blend is my favorite but they are all good! I am a Kentucky girl and love to tour distilleries so anything woody and notes of bourbon really appeal to me. I totally agree with yoU on the Elizabeth and James fragrances! Have a beautiful and fragrant Fall. Looking forward to your next video!

I think cosy woody fragrances are amongst my favourites. Just very everyday and very wearable. Nirvana Amethyst, metal wave, Glossier you. All very relaxed.
Came back to report that Après truly is a gem! The house, in general, doesn’t really speak to me … but this one had me curious. It’s what I hoped Fille en Aiguilles would be (I struggled with the dried fruit). Après is surprisingly complex yet fresh … and so addictive! Thanks, Chris! ✨
I don’t have much from this category but Amethyst, Bouquet Ideal is so beautiful😍😍. Gemma di Paradiso, Sleek Suede and Ebony Wood also have a slight woody feel to my skin😍😍. I had Santal De Kandy, Boucheron but gifted it cos it pulled too masculine on my skin🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I also sampled White Hinoki, Armouroud last year and whooo, it was just too much for me😩😩. Awesome video as always👌👌. Stay gorgeous🥰🥰
Hi Chris - just came here to say that I bought both of the Nirvanas you mentioned here and wow , what a bargain for such great scents! Now I am sad they are discontinued because I can see these becoming my signature scents for colder months. It’s a bit androgynous, effortless chic with just the right amount of edge 😎
This is a great video. There are several here that I def need to try. I also love M. Micallef Gaiac. Some woody frags I am obsessed with (that aren’t sandalwoods or ouds) are Dune (especially the vintage formulations. It’s good all year round imho.) , SJP Stash, the Tauer du desert (both versions), and Scents of Wood Cedar in Acacia. Oh, and Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue Royale is pretty woody (it’s cedar I think). I am excited for the sandalwood and oud edition. I looooove sandalwood and have been getting more in to ouds, but it is such a broad category that it’s intimidating tbh! ❤
I adore Gypsy Water, but on me it's almost beast mode! The last time I wore it in summer, it overpowered me. I'll pull it out again now that it's cooler. I'm also a cedar fan, and love your suggestions!

I love woody frags , as I was looking over my collection I realized alot of them have prominent patchouli . But a few that don't ...Hilde Soliani Vecchi Rosetti , Ahwaz King's Court , Hendley Bourbon , Bruno Acampora Iranzol . You showed a Great list as always full of options for everyone .

These sound wonderful! Thought I would mention that there is a new affordable fragrance at Sephora called Dulce By Rosie Jane (a clean brand). It has notes of vanilla, chocolate, and hinoki wood. I ended up reviewing this in a haul but long story short, it smells good yes, (semi-sweet woodsy vanilla) but there's not much projection (at least for me). So save your money unless you don't mind reapplying 😉 I love layering By the Fireplace with almost any sweet gourmand when it snows (which is at least half the year for me) lol I love woodsy notes especially with vanilla. Like Milk by commodity. Marshmallow + woods and spice

Have you ever tried the house of Solstice Scents? I heard they are the house to try for gourmands yes but also wood notes. I would love to hear your thoughts. They are on my ever-growing list to try one day 😂 Oh Paco Rabanne Fame is very incense heavy plus mango if you ever get a chance to try it. I expected a bright tropical scent but not so much, definitely more incense heavy with mango and some vanilla

Funny! I have that one and never wear it. I love it on other ppl but WOWZA it overpowers me when I wore it (once). 😂I’m waiting for me to grow into that perfume. Never getting rid of that classic even if I don’t wear it. 😉❤️
Chris, always a thumbs up! I wish my E&J Bourbon and Amethyst lasted 4 hours as I love them so much. I get one hour with Bourbon and maybe 20 mins on the other so I planned to sell that one. My first ever woody perfume was Shiseido Feminite Du Bois in the 90s and I still have some of this version. I also love Woody Mood; Olfactive Studios, Plum and Cognac by Scents of Wood and good old Serge Lutens Bois Violette, Bois et Fruits and Amber Sultan, which smells woody to me. oxJulia

Woods!- My favorite! I have never tried Roberto Cavalli Paradiso, but now I have to. I hate to sound like a snob, but I just don't like many designer frags, and I pretty much can't stand anything by JPG or Paco Rabanne, etc., so I ignored Cavalli. But I'm a sucker for pine notes and I see that one has pine. I need to try Bo Liis and Dirty Hinoki, too. I might have to go back to the Sephora Sale for that Hinoki. I haven't had good luck with Ellis Brooklyn lasting long enough. Bois D'Iris lasts all of an hour on me and is disappointing. A new woody one- I wore Byredo De Los Santos yesterday while on a hike with my husband and he loved it. I'm not sure I love it on me as much (though maybe it's a slow burn? IDK), but he said I smelled like pine trees and autumn leaves. I get more trampled dry autumn oak leaves on me with that one, but it's definitely outdoorsy.
I Ordered De Los Santos from Selfridges a month ago…..patiently waiting. 😬You May night like Paradiso then…….it’s nothing groundbreaking but for what it is, I think a great deal, esp for those who need budget friendly options. ❤️
The music is nice! 🎶 I have a couple of samples of Après and I like it, but I can’t quite seem to get it up to a Love.. I think because it’s quite light to my nose and I can’t really tell what I’m smelling Lol I liked the Liis sampler kit, they’re all quite nice and I like that they’re a cleaner brand 🙏🏼✨

Hi Betty. Fille was a big blind buy flop. I thought there was NO way I wouldn’t like it….with the notes. But it ended up smelling like beef stew (minus the beef) and my husband walked by me wearing it and said “why do you smell like Chinese food?” 😜🤣🤦♀️nope. Must be my skin. 😉
@@ThePerfumeNest Black Tie not black tea! But I love both 😂 Celine black tie is so cocooning, comfort scent for the soul. I love so many from Celine…so Bois Dormant might be my next purchase. I ordered Hinoki, I can’t wait to try it! Also love Bo Liis, Bouquet Ideale and Winter Nights. For black tea, I got arquiste Indigo Smoke which is pretty realistic. I haven’t tried Dear Polly - I love the presentation but I don’t like Vilhelm’s style. Mango Skin I gave away. And poets of Berlin I blind bought and also don’t really like either.
Usually spring and summer but I still have it in rotation…that cypress makes it a potential all year round perfume esp if you live in warmer climates because of that citrusy opening. But in reality I should put it away because it’s too cold here now.
My favourite woody perfume at the moment is Genetic Bliss by 27 87. Powerhouse. Also love Gypsy Water but omg is it weak. Have You tried Oakcha Morning Rain? That supposed to be a good, long lasting dupe.

Came back to report that Après truly is a gem! The house, in general, doesn’t really speak to me … but this one had me curious. It’s what I hoped Fille en Aiguilles would be (I struggled with the dried fruit). Après is surprisingly complex yet fresh … and so addictive! Thanks, Chris! ✨

I don’t have much from this category but Amethyst, Bouquet Ideal is so beautiful😍😍. Gemma di Paradiso, Sleek Suede and Ebony Wood also have a slight woody feel to my skin😍😍. I had Santal De Kandy, Boucheron but gifted it cos it pulled too masculine on my skin🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I also sampled White Hinoki, Armouroud last year and whooo, it was just too much for me😩😩. Hi Chris - just came here to say that I bought both of the Nirvanas you mentioned here and wow , what a bargain for such great scents! Now I am sad they are discontinued because I can see these becoming my signature scents for colder months. It’s a bit androgynous, effortless chic with just the right amount of edge 😎

This is a great video. There are several here that I def need to try. I also love M. Micallef Gaiac. Some woody frags I am obsessed with (that aren’t sandalwoods or ouds) are Dune (especially the vintage formulations. It’s good all year round imho.) , SJP Stash, the Tauer du desert (both versions), and Scents of Wood Cedar in Acacia. Oh, and Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue Royale is pretty woody (it’s cedar I think). I am excited for the sandalwood and oud edition. I looooove sandalwood and have been getting more in to ouds, but it is such a broad category that it’s intimidating tbh! ❤

Ever since I had Covid, most sandalwood notes go weird in my nose. So, cedar is my go-to wood note for now, and I love Replica's Autumn Vibes!

These sound wonderful! Thought I would mention that there is a new affordable fragrance at Sephora called Dulce By Rosie Jane (a clean brand). It has notes of vanilla, chocolate, and hinoki wood. I ended up reviewing this in a haul but long story short, it smells good yes, (semi-sweet woodsy vanilla) but there's not much projection (at least for me). So save your money unless you don't mind reapplying 😉 I love layering By the Fireplace with almost any sweet gourmand when it snows (which is at least half the year for me) lol I love woodsy notes especially with vanilla. Like Milk by commodity. Marshmallow + woods and spice

Have you ever tried the house of Solstice Scents? I heard they are the house to try for gourmands yes but also wood notes. I would love to hear your thoughts. They are on my ever-growing list to try one day 😂 Oh Paco Rabanne Fame is very incense heavy plus mango if you ever get a chance to try it. I expected a bright tropical scent but not so much, definitely more incense heavy with mango and some vanilla

Chris, always a thumbs up! I wish my E&J Bourbon and Amethyst lasted 4 hours as I love them so much. I get one hour with Bourbon and maybe 20 mins on the other so I planned to sell that one. My first ever woody perfume was Shiseido Feminite Du Bois in the 90s and I still have some of this version. I also love Woody Mood; Olfactive Studios, Plum and Cognac by Scents of Wood and good old Serge Lutens Bois Violette, Bois et Fruits and Amber Sultan, which smells woody to me. oxJulia

Woods!- My favorite! I have never tried Roberto Cavalli Paradiso, but now I have to. I hate to sound like a snob, but I just don't like many designer frags, and I pretty much can't stand anything by JPG or Paco Rabanne, etc., so I ignored Cavalli. But I'm a sucker for pine notes and I see that one has pine. I need to try Bo Liis and Dirty Hinoki, too. I might have to go back to the Sephora Sale for that Hinoki. I haven't had good luck with Ellis Brooklyn lasting long enough. Bois D'Iris lasts all of an hour on me and is disappointing. A new woody one- I wore Byredo De Los Santos yesterday while on a hike with my husband and he loved it. I'm not sure I love it on me as much (though maybe it's a slow burn? IDK), but he said I smelled like pine trees and autumn leaves. I get more trampled dry autumn oak leaves on me with that one, but it's definitely outdoorsy.
I Ordered De Los Santos from Selfridges a month ago…..patiently waiting. 😬You May night like Paradiso then…….it’s nothing groundbreaking but for what it is, I think a great deal, esp for those who need budget friendly options. ❤️

Hi Betty. Fille was a big blind buy flop. I thought there was NO way I wouldn’t like it….with the notes. But it ended up smelling like beef stew (minus the beef) and my husband walked by me wearing it and said “why do you smell like Chinese food?” 😜🤣🤦♀️nope. Must be my skin. 😉

I ordered Hinoki, I can’t wait to try it! Also love Bo Liis, Bouquet Ideale and Winter Nights. For black tea, I got arquiste Indigo Smoke which is pretty realistic.
I haven’t tried Dear Polly - I love the presentation but I don’t like Vilhelm’s style. Mango Skin I gave away. And poets of Berlin I blind bought and also don’t really like either.

Usually spring and summer but I still have it in rotation…that cypress makes it a potential all year round perfume esp if you live in warmer climates because of that citrusy opening. But in reality I should put it away because it’s too cold here now.
My favourite woody perfume at the moment is Genetic Bliss by 27 87. Powerhouse.
Also love Gypsy Water but omg is it weak. Have You tried Oakcha Morning Rain? That supposed to be a good, long lasting dupe.
