Falling down the DUA rabbit hole is a dangerous thing, lol. I have about 5 of them so far and they are all amazing and delicious. I am very impressed by this perfume house, not just because they really try to do justice to their inspiration perfumes, but also because they do truly beautiful original blends too. I purchased Aphrodisiac (Initio Psychedelic Love) a couple of months ago, but let it macerate. Yesterday, I sprayed it on and it was so intoxicating, I almost wanted to chew my arm off 😂 Sooo many Duas on my wishlist now. Other ones I own and love: She Loves Red (BDK Rouge Smoking), Royal Tonka (Shalimar Millésime Tonka), Sweet Amalfi (Xerjoff Dolce Amalfi)

I’m so glad I discovered your channel. I have been a fragrance lover for years, and own at least 1,000 perfumes. But now that I no longer am working, I had to stop purchasing fragrances, that is, until I delved into mid eastern perfumes. I already had a few for years as well as some oils, but now I have a fairly decent collection of the mid eastern genre. You two are so much fun!
I'm so glad you made this video! I love a good dupe and honestly think that Dua does them the best out of all the brands I've tested, followed by Generic Perfumes. I love that they have pre-formulation fragrances such as my beloved Chanel Chance EDT! Their version smells exactly how I remember it smelling in 2002 in my scent memory . Love, love, love Dua!

I have only been buying from Dua for about four or five months and I have almost 150 fragrances. It is definitely addicting! I love Black Widow, so at the recent vault opening, I purchased five bottles of Italiano Widow. Can't wait to try them! I have several of the fragrances you reviewed, and I just love all of them. They also have so many great Rose fragrances, I believe my favorite so far is Rose oud love! ❤️

Cloud of caramel vanilla is my favorite! It’s an original but smells like Bianco latte to me. The dupe of lipstick on (discontinued) is spot on as us tutu extrait from Gritti. I have about 12. Their version of nomad from bond is spot on too!
@@lunablue1002 it’s at least 95 % spot on. I had a sample of the og Tutu and it’s beautiful but definitely not extrait especially for that price point!
I've lost so much money over the dying vanilla note in many of my Dua scents. I'm surprised yours still smell good. I've had to move them to airtight containers to save what I have left. Can't wait to get rid of them.
Val here - I have definitely heard that the vanilla Duas are challenging. That really sucks you’ve been burned! The gourmand Duas I’ve tried so far have been more complex so I’ve been lucky. However, I did get the Vanilla Marshmallow and honestly, it’s the La Croix of vanillas! So weak. They can’t all be amazing, but I’m grateful still that most of them are. Thanks for sharing your honest experience!

Great video of you two ladies! Unfortunately, DUA and I don’t get along. I really wanted to like them, but each time I would order all I could smell was a rancid engine exhaust smell. I let them all macerate over a year now, but it still hasn’t gotten any better. I’m glad there DNA works for you! 🙂

My favourite DUA is 'Collateral Damage' which is a dupe for Side Effect...sooooooo yummy. However for me 100 Whispers has a slight hairspray note that I can't seem to un-smell, along with their dupe of Material (Worldly Femme).
So sad, every last DUA was a fail for me. I tried upwards of 12 different scents before I said, forget it. It's something in that formula that does not agree with me. It's something rancid in their oil blend to me. Julianna's Perfume has been a hit for me as an inspired house.
They do mix up on order so they do improve a lot of you let them sit. You have to spray and let it sit for a couple months. That helped me with a few of them. They really should macerate there fragrances first so people don't get turned off.
@@BLARG09 thank you. I still don't know if that's a myth or not, but I need to at minimum like the fragrance upon initial spray, even if I'm not head over it, I don't want to hate it. I'll come back a few days later and in this case, months. I found two travel sizes back in August that were tucked in a Sephora bag that I purchased this past December/January and they still smell rancid.

I love these videos you two are doing. My ship has not come in (it might be sunk at sea😂) and it’s nice hearing about really affordable scents. I do like hearing about all scents but sometimes it feels like window shopping to me. When we’re talking around $35, I can swing one now and then. I might have to give DUA a try!
That's part of why I wanted to do the DUA and middle eastern videos with Val. There are so many stellar fragrances that are affordable. I want fragrance to be accessible to the majority!! It's not imperative to spend $$$ to smell good...you can get something at all price points that is stellar!

There are so many that my post would be the length of a book if I included them all 😄 But the one that surprised me the most in the best way possible was Dua on Lafayette St. It is unlike anything else I've ever smelled and any words I try to use to describe would not come close to doing it justice. CLASSIFICATION: Oriental Fougere, NOTES: Coriander, Flowers, Bergamot, Ambroxan, Apple, Vanilla, Woodsy Notes, Tonka Bean, and Ambergris. Green Media Cologne was a similar experience for me as far as how different it was from anything else I've tried and how incredible the scent is.

Dua and I aren't compatible. I have kept one it's the Kilian apple brandy it had to sit for three months for that weird smell to go away.I layer it with angels share. Now I love it. Let the others sit too but that chemical smell never left.
You guys should try generic perfumes if you have not yet. They have a very large selection in various sizes in oils or spray versions and they are so close to the originals.
Their Gourmand Coquin version is FABULOUS! I have "A dark chocolate, rum &vanilla symphony" and it is Gourmand Coquin intensified with xerjoff symphonium...it is decadent!
I am new to DUA and love them, I am more into unisex fragrances The Vault is a thing - for real! I have to delete their emails to stay out of the rabbit hole, I have 4 full size and 2 10 mls Plum Cigarello is amazing Their molecule fragrances - Ginger and Black Tea are very nice alone or as mixers. No doubt my collection will grow. Thanks for sharing your collection - my want list increased
Dua is the only brand I could find that dupes Deep N Desire Yacht. I wore the original on one arm and the Dua on the other... they are sooooo close! And I think the Dua actually performed a little better. So then I ordered the Amouage Sunshine dupe, and even thought it's not as spot on as the original, the price difference definitely makes it worth it (Amouage I feel has a slightly sweeter note in it than the dua).

I don’t even want to buy Dua bc I think they are overpriced even on sale but I enjoy watching yall together so much I watched the whole thing. I really love when you two team up.
They are pricey unless you get them on the sale...then they are very reasonable...the other thing to remember is that they are extrait de parfum so they are stronger than normal fragrance...you don't need as much. (typically speaking)
I've been researching which dupe house to start with because I already know there are certain perfumes I'm just never going to fork the $$ out for. Dua has been sounding really interesting. EDIT: Sold out of a LOT of things.
Yes, I believe they do small batches so they run out often...you can just keep checking back. Two other really solid houses are Julianna's and Be Layered. I've tried from both and am impressed with them as well.
My favorite Dua is Italiano Pomme which is Kilians Apple Brandy and Italica . It’s very nutty, apple boozy scent and lasts all day .A favorite in the cool months .

Val, I have one Dua perfume that I paid about $50.00 for, and when I first received it, I thought it was not good and wanted to return it, and boy was I wrong, and I put it on again and I like it so much, and it is one of my favorite now. The name of mine is “Blackberry & Belgian Chocolate Brandy.” I really like it, and I used a third of it, and I try to spare it. I want to buy another one. Take Care. 😊
I have 8 Duas. I have the Banana Crème Pie….Love it. My favorite one that I own is Alexandra Short. I also love Nur Jahan’s Elixir. It’s inspired by Shalimar.

Flashing back to this older video after searching for clones of uncommon fragrances. So many people clone BR540, Delina, etc. While they are beautiful fragrances, I never have to smell another clone. I love that Dua does some not as popular fragrances. I'm looking at clones of Gritti and Thameen. Does Val have any of those in her collection?

Hi, Val here - oh my goodness, that’s very strange. I did not get any sort of gasoline note with that fragrance! Maybe let it macerate for a couple of weeks, but if it still smells funky to you, I would get in touch with wherever you bought it from and see if they’re willing to swap it out for a bottle from a fresher batch.
Do you like the kyse Oui Plus or Dua better? I’m definitely getting some of Duas. You should do a comparison of kyse and Dua Gourmads, I love Douceur Brulee!!!
I bought 5 bottles for my first order. It took exactly a month to get them!! They said when I ordered, it would take 3 to 5 days to ship. All five of my bottles smelled like motor oil???? Have you had this? I was told to let it sit for at least a month before I try it again??? I have NEVER had any kind of experience like this with any other perfume haus??? I was just really shocked and disappointed for my first order!!!🥺 They have soo many Beautiful sounding scents that I want to try and I don't understand why mine smell so terrible??
I heard this…ok so I’ve heard two ways To handle this! One is spray it then let it sit! I also heard spray it and put in the fridge!? These have to macerate I also heard the ones with the plastic cap? That were packed in foam tend to do this more? Not sure if you got yours before they changed their tops and packaging?
Me either a lot of dupes wind up smelling just like hairspray on me like old Aquanet or something and I can't deal with it they must all have similar DNA yuck

Val here - I’ve been curious too! I haven’t tried it yet but if you like the original, I bet it’s phenomenal. I tried their version of the original formula Hypnotic Poison and fell hard in love with it. The new formulation was not impressive to me but Dua’s version is a dream. Hope that helps!
I have the OG Midnight and bought Dua’s to try. It’s about 90-95% on point, however I found that Fragrenza Ducal Palace is a much smoother and 99% accurate blend. Not sponsored 😅

My favourite DUA is 'Collateral Damage' which is a dupe for Side Effect...sooooooo yummy. However for me 100 Whispers has a slight hairspray note that I can't seem to un-smell, along with their dupe of Material (Worldly Femme).

So sad, every last DUA was a fail for me. I tried upwards of 12 different scents before I said, forget it. It's something in that formula that does not agree with me. It's something rancid in their oil blend to me.
Julianna's Perfume has been a hit for me as an inspired house.
Thanks for weighing in. I find that certain dupe houses smell better over others. I really enjoy Julianna's and Be Layered as well.

They do mix up on order so they do improve a lot of you let them sit. You have to spray and let it sit for a couple months. That helped me with a few of them. They really should macerate there fragrances first so people don't get turned off.

I still don't know if that's a myth or not, but I need to at minimum like the fragrance upon initial spray, even if I'm not head over it, I don't want to hate it. I'll come back a few days later and in this case, months. I found two travel sizes back in August that were tucked in a Sephora bag that I purchased this past December/January and they still smell rancid.

I love these videos you two are doing. My ship has not come in (it might be sunk at sea😂) and it’s nice hearing about really affordable scents. I do like hearing about all scents but sometimes it feels like window shopping to me. When we’re talking around $35, I can swing one now and then. I might have to give DUA a try!
That's part of why I wanted to do the DUA and middle eastern videos with Val. There are so many stellar fragrances that are affordable. I want fragrance to be accessible to the majority!! It's not imperative to spend $$$ to smell good...you can get something at all price points that is stellar!

There are so many that my post would be the length of a book if I included them all 😄 But the one that surprised me the most in the best way possible was Dua on Lafayette St. It is unlike anything else I've ever smelled and any words I try to use to describe would not come close to doing it justice. CLASSIFICATION: Oriental Fougere, NOTES: Coriander, Flowers, Bergamot, Ambroxan, Apple, Vanilla, Woodsy Notes, Tonka Bean, and Ambergris. Green Media Cologne was a similar experience for me as far as how different it was from anything else I've tried and how incredible the scent is.

Dua and I aren't compatible. I have kept one it's the Kilian apple brandy it had to sit for three months for that weird smell to go away.I layer it with angels share. Now I love it. Let the others sit too but that chemical smell never left.

You guys should try generic perfumes if you have not yet. They have a very large selection in various sizes in oils or spray versions and they are so close to the originals.
I have tried the Generic Perfumes inspired versions of Alien Essence Absolue and Angel’s Share and they’re both excellent!
Their Gourmand Coquin version is FABULOUS! I have "A dark chocolate, rum &vanilla symphony" and it is Gourmand Coquin intensified with xerjoff symphonium...it is decadent!

I am new to DUA and love them, I am more into unisex fragrances The Vault is a thing - for real! I have to delete their emails to stay out of the rabbit hole, I have 4 full size and 2 10 mls Plum Cigarello is amazing Their molecule fragrances - Ginger and Black Tea are very nice alone or as mixers. No doubt my collection will grow. Thanks for sharing your collection - my want list increased

Dua is the only brand I could find that dupes Deep N Desire Yacht. I wore the original on one arm and the Dua on the other... they are sooooo close! And I think the Dua actually performed a little better. So then I ordered the Amouage Sunshine dupe, and even thought it's not as spot on as the original, the price difference definitely makes it worth it (Amouage I feel has a slightly sweeter note in it than the dua).

I do agree like yea it’s cheaper BUT unless it’s 3 oz? It feels like I’m spending more!? But for something I can’t find at all? I think I’ll try them!
They are pricey unless you get them on the sale...then they are very reasonable...the other thing to remember is that they are extrait de parfum so they are stronger than normal fragrance...you don't need as much. (typically speaking)
I've been researching which dupe house to start with because I already know there are certain perfumes I'm just never going to fork the $$ out for. Dua has been sounding really interesting. EDIT: Sold out of a LOT of things.

Yes, I believe they do small batches so they run out often...you can just keep checking back. Two other really solid houses are Julianna's and Be Layered. I've tried from both and am impressed with them as well.
My favorite Dua is Italiano Pomme which is Kilians Apple Brandy and Italica . It’s very nutty, apple boozy scent and lasts all day .A favorite in the cool months .

Val, I have one Dua perfume that I paid about $50.00 for, and when I first received it, I thought it was not good and wanted to return it, and boy was I wrong, and I put it on again and I like it so much, and it is one of my favorite now. The name of mine is “Blackberry & Belgian Chocolate Brandy.” I really like it, and I used a third of it, and I try to spare it. I want to buy another one. Take Care. 😊

Flashing back to this older video after searching for clones of uncommon fragrances. So many people clone BR540, Delina, etc. While they are beautiful fragrances, I never have to smell another clone. I love that Dua does some not as popular fragrances. I'm looking at clones of Gritti and Thameen. Does Val have any of those in her collection?

Hi, Val here - oh my goodness, that’s very strange. I did not get any sort of gasoline note with that fragrance! Maybe let it macerate for a couple of weeks, but if it still smells funky to you, I would get in touch with wherever you bought it from and see if they’re willing to swap it out for a bottle from a fresher batch.

I bought 5 bottles for my first order. It took exactly a month to get them!! They said when I ordered, it would take 3 to 5 days to ship. All five of my bottles smelled like motor oil???? Have you had this? I was told to let it sit for at least a month before I try it again??? I have NEVER had any kind of experience like this with any other perfume haus??? I was just really shocked and disappointed for my first order!!!🥺 They have soo many Beautiful sounding scents that I want to try and I don't understand why mine smell so terrible??
I heard this…ok so I’ve heard two ways To handle this! One is spray it then let it sit! I also heard spray it and put in the fridge!? These have to macerate I also heard the ones with the plastic cap? That were packed in foam tend to do this more? Not sure if you got yours before they changed their tops and packaging?

Val here - I’ve been curious too! I haven’t tried it yet but if you like the original, I bet it’s phenomenal. I tried their version of the original formula Hypnotic Poison and fell hard in love with it. The new formulation was not impressive to me but Dua’s version is a dream. Hope that helps!
I have the OG Midnight and bought Dua’s to try. It’s about 90-95% on point, however I found that Fragrenza Ducal Palace is a much smoother and 99% accurate blend. Not sponsored 😅
