    Thanks for sharing! How to you ensure that support teams support you when working remotely. When we were working at home during covid, I had so many challenges getting a hold of finance and procurement staff virtually so reports and follow ups on procurement requests. How are you able to coordinate with different departments virtually?

      Heya! Thankfully most of the companies where I have freelanced use tools such as Slack, which is a really valuable instant messaging communication tool. I pretty much communicate with everyone I need to using this tool, i.e stakeholders, finance, even external vendors. Thankfully I haven't faced that issue, but when I do feel like someone is taking long to respond and it is pretty urgent, after a few follow ups, I would check in with their upline just to make sure everything is ok, or pop a meeting in their diary for a quick catch up with a clear agenda of the things I need to discuss. Also, company cultures are so different, I think some companies took a while to adapt to a remote working environment whereas others really thrived with it.

    Hi Natasha - enjoying your vids - how did you become a freelance pm? how did you feel ready? and were you in a perm pm role before?

    • @natashamcampbell
      @natashamcampbell  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Toyin, thanks so much! I actually fell into freelancing, I was made redundant from my perm role as an Account Manager at a tiny creative agency (I only had perm roles before my first freelance role), and was just open to freelance and perm PM roles. Randomly got a freelance PM role (low day rate and travelling from London to Milton Keynes every day) but I was just super happy to get my first PM role, then worked out how much I was making in comparison to being perm and never looked back :)

    I am new to your channel thak you for sharing your knowledge and tips. I am a Project Manager and wants to transition to freelancing. What are your tips on how to get clients? i am still on the research on how to approach it. I also dont have qualifications such as Prince

    • @natashamcampbell
      @natashamcampbell  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Mary, don't worry about not having the PRINCE2, its not always a prerequisite and more depends on the sector you're in. In my opinion, I would advise connecting with as many recruiters as you can that have a team that specialise in freelance roles within your sector. This is how I initially met most of my clients, which enabled me to get reoccurring bookings and some of those clients recommending me to other companies wanting to hire a freelance PM. I know recruiters aren't always the most popular choice, but the good ones can really help propel your freelance career.

    What is the base salary for freelance project management contract jobs?

    • @natashamcampbell
      @natashamcampbell  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You'll be looking at a day rate for a freelance PM role as oppose to a salary. Also depend on the sector you're in as some sectors pay considerably more than others like Construction and IT for example. I wouldn't go any lower than £350 a day and that is outside IR35 (Inside IR35 I wouldn't even bother), but if starting out be open to being flexible in order to get your foot in the door. Hope that helps!
