Because the ancient Greeks set up city states in Asia and North Africa too. Alexander the Great conquered a lot of Asian land. There are still some Greek forts in Afghanistan today - do you think they "should be in Greece" too? Did you give the modern Greeks Afghan land? Or do you destroy these ancient forts and move them to Athens?
We visited here last month off a cruise ship. We had been to Ephesus before. There was only 1 other person and we could walk all over the site. Amazing.
