About this game:
Enter the Gungeon is a bullet hell dungeon crawler following a band of misfits seeking to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution by reaching the legendary Gungeon’s ultimate treasure: the gun that can kill the past. Select a hero [or team up in co-op] and battle your way to the bottom of the Gungeon by surviving a challenging and evolving series of floors filled with the dangerously adorable Gundead and fearsome Gungeon bosses armed to the teeth. Honestly if nl stopped gun forcing in general I wouldn't mind. He's been getting crappy weapons from the bosses ever since he started gun forcing.

gun forcing is pretty much an outdated thing at this point, the only reason people did it was because ammo drops were so rare now that ammo is more common theres no reason to gun force
@@davidwitcofski1304 ^^^ this 100%. You gun forced because it meant you got ~200 more shots on a gun that wasn't the basic gun. Now that ammo is plentiful, you can use whatever gun you want throughout most of the run without worrying too much.

Starts trying to gun force bosses and can't flawless the bosses. Yeah maybe that strat isn't for you. I prefer passives anyway and opening the chests and getting guns or passives just make it so much easier to get the flawless.
I like passives, I dunno what Austin (and by extension Ryab) has against them.
@@IBlack04 What he has against them is that he's still living in a world where ammo was a big problem in the game, so getting any gun meant getting more ammo.
@@IBlack04 He's right when he says not to take passives. The problem with passives is they're inconsistent, and some can carry you. However, gungeon is not isaac. You don't need passives. The only thing you need is guns and your raw skill. It's better to just be good at the game than rely on passives
But if he keeps fighting the bosses with weak guns, he will *learn* to flawless them, and that's more valuable than any item they can drop!
@@tobiasmoodias4855 It doesn't matter if they are inconsistant, passives makes the runs more fun since they apply to all weapons. What's the point of having 18 weapons when he'll use like 2 anyway. Even without Gunforcing you get way more weapons then you will ever use.

I think he fears the curse. Mind you, he was actively trying to get cursed a few runs back and still never bothered using his chaff grenades to steal.

It's more that he just doesn't know.
I think the only thing that he knows allows you to steal is things that turn you invisible

"Gunforcing" is nonsense, it's not a major benefit,, I don't know who keeps whispering you have to "gunforce" on the first floor. Open chests and be comfortable with boss fights, it's way more beneficial. Especially at this stage in your Gungeon career.

Gun forcing makes sense when you're confident you can deal with any boss for the current floor, but you want to increase the odds of getting better guns for future encounters. For example, if you don't have an ammo efficient room clearing tool or your current guns aren't going to scale well. It's a sometimes technique.

Gun-forcing is, as far as I'm concerned, a leftover strategy from back when you basically needed to stockpile as many guns as possible because the game gave you diddly-squat for ammo.

The reason trash cannon was bad for you is b/c of ghost bullets. It makes the bullet penetrate through the first target, and trash cannon wants to just hit something and explode.
Also don't sleep on the void marshal.

Assuming you meant the chamber 3 secret room in the rat entrance room. That was super frustrating. He spent so much time near that wall too.
I think Austin only pushes gun forcing cause it thought it was clever, not because its actually a good strat. Like you say in isaac, it's a move thats cuter than it is good
Nah. He's just set in his ways. Gun forcing used to be critical to having half a chance in bullet hell.
On top of gun forcing, you had to use your starting gun on floors 1-3 (except for the bosses, maybe), key force (not pick up a key so the shop would have one, then hope you could afford it because money drops also sucked).. it was a mess. Okay?
Oh, and the shop could be locked, requiring a precious key to open. In an age where you might only have one key per floor for the entire run, with money so tight you can't buy anything but those keys.

Hey NL, great job on the series. I wanted to say that this is my favorite series of yours by far currently and probably is in my top 10 overall. Gungeon is a great game and you playing it got me to give it another chance and it has its hooks in me too.
If you're having trouble with the first floor bosses honestly don't worry about gunforcing as much on the first floor. I tend to pop chests first floor and just try to guarantee that flawless. It gives you an ever important confidence boost to start off, and you can always gunforce on future floors. Like you say all the time I feel like you tend to go between extremes and it would probably be beneficial for you to find a balance and decide when and where to gunforce. It's a lot like choosing how many elites you want to fight in Slay the Spire, fighting all of them/none of them are both bad options 90% of the time.
NL you can steal items from shop If you use the decoy in shop and just take the item
whenever im playing a game at the same time nl is, i always come to his comments for useful tips because god knows he wont read them

Also, tip for the rat fight, the only 2 defensive moves you need are block and duck. Every attack you can't block, you can duck, and every attack you can't duck, you can block. Makes the fight much simpler.

Gun forcing guarantees a gun. Not a GOOD gun. Just a gun. It's not worth it. You might as well roll the bones on the passives as well. PASSIVES CAN BE EQUALLY AS IMPACTFUL, ENELLE.
Stop with the gunforcing! After this idea got stuck in your head, you have been playing much worse!
Gunforcing is the only thing that will make him a better player. Passives are a crutch in this game.
Just A Gremlin Man using anything except the starting gun is a crutch too, and so is picking up hp and blanks you find on rooms, but drawing the line at stupid points doesn’t make sense so why don’t we just let him play a video game

Gun forcing is just a strategy like any other. You can implement it as-needed whenever it’s something that will actually help your situation. Just blindly trying to gun force every boss like you are isn’t really a good idea
Some thoughts (spoilers ahead):
> Paradox, dude!
> Battery Bullets is a really good passive to start with. Well, perhaps "Clone" would be a better passive to start with. But, starting with electrical immunity and greater accuracy helps to make many weapons substantially better, including the Trick Gun!
> You can manually reload the Trick Gun after firing one shot, in order to make it change forms again. NL should have just switched away from the shotgun form whenever it was active, he was far too focused on maintaining that perfect distance, instead of just shooting. Or just use the starting pistol, Trick Gun ain't all that good anyways.
> NL's been doing a decent job with forcing guns, doing it early when the enemies are easier and not necessarily doing it later when he already has decent weapons. I think he would have had the flawless if he was just using the starting pistol.

The way NL seems scare to just walk around with Fightsabre while reloading hurts me. It's such a fun gun.

You aren’t tilted. Also use obscure guns when appropriate. Room clearing is not appropriate for all guns or synergies

NL, you really need to look up how stealing works and start using items that let you do it. Especially on that cursed run you did it would have helped a ton.
Secret room on the rat room oh my heart is woe
I have 10 hours on the switch (not sure on ps4) but I still consider myself new. Watching your videos helps me improve and teaches me new techniques!

I actually forgot that was a thing.
Against the trigger twins, I find circling around the entire room makes the fight easier. It also lessens the chance you get caught in between the twins.

Anyone else absutely livid that a clear visible secret room literally stares NL down in the rat room, somehow mannages to avoid damage, which would have oppened it with the armour, by rolling in the doorway against 4 enemies?

bullet hell isnt about the lich fight, its more about getting through the thirty rooms before the lich. I dont think Ryab wouldve made it through it after the advanced dragun fight..

I get why the Elimentaler is strong, but why does it have infinite ammo?
I know you probably won't read this, but you should always open the oubliette/ use all of your keys before shooting chests. if you have keys when you shoot a chest then the odds are 12% higher that you get junk instead of a real item. I know you aren't the min max type, but you have been having lots of trouble lately and since you almost always destroy chests on the first floor I think it's worth the extra time.

Poor Ring of Ethereal Form he scrolled past it 10 times and didn't use it once.
I don't know what NL has against ring of ethereal form? it's super long invincibility (+ flying) that's basically auto flawless.
And it makes you invisible so allows for stealing.
On the rat trap door room he missed a secret room which the shotgunkin oppened for him

I think NL should play a few rounds of turbo mode because once you switch back you end up having a matrix moment and being able to dodge basically anything.

I only gunforce when I have a great boss killer. if I feel like I can't flawless the boss with my current setup I'll open chests before facing the boss.
it's also not worth gunforcing when you're set for the rest of the run (if you have gunthur, elimentaler, etc.). a mediocre passive might be more valuable.
As an experienced Gungeoneer it kinda angers me to watch my Egg spam entire clips on rooms wether enemies are dead or not. Egg, plan your shots. Please.

Nl, maybe you're not ready for the gun force life. It's also way easier to perfect a boss if you get guns beforehand that are good.
I think a general rule when it comes to gungeon is that when a shot ricochets off a wall it deals 50% more damage? So when for example you were fighting blobulord you could shoot the wall behind to speed up the fight. Don't take this as backseat gaming or telling you how to play it's just food for thought.
EDIT: i'm dumb it's just the SAA that does extra damage

I can't stand the dry feeling and I thought he was about to actually back me up on that.
If you're looking for a first floor flawless open any chests you get for free because even a brown gun can help you flawless and then you can gun force the rest of the run. I do this and consistently make it to the dragun

My take on trick gun is that it's like choosing between congestion and diarrhea.
I have officially renamed it into secret room gun because that's what it excels at in the shotgun form.
Decoys let you steal repeatedly.
Also you're gonna have a ball if you ever run into trigger twins in turbo mode.
They suck infinitely more there.
