Q1*)why is there an empty gun?!

Q1) the whole premise of save point RESETING the timeline is not shown in here. you are using a respawn mechanic! I am confuse! its not like my undertale game!
A- not following the game's time reset mechanic is a crucial keypoint in the entire animation. If I were to follow strictly to the time-reset mechanic, there be lots of scenes that I cannot show like the scenes of realization and despair that NEO can never win against chara, save points appearing before him (I really want to do that shot due to its significance and symbolism theme) NEO not able to send his final message to alphys cause he wouldn't know he cant win against chara if time resets.
Basically, if I went with the original time reset, I can never make all this scenes due to the nature that NEO Could NOT remember ANYTHING at all. making the animation a one-sided view from chara's perspective which negates the whole point of focusing on NEO's spotlight. so this is the reason why I went with the respawn method than the reset of time in favour for animation pacing and more emotional moments on NEO.
Q2) Chara doesn't appear in the Genocide run its Frisk!
A-Its set in an Alternate Universe, in a non-canonical path.And I personally dont want frisk to be subjected to more physical torture...head slicing off by flowey is more than enough.... hence the physical manifestation of Chara in this animation, come up with your own theory how Chara manifested in this animation D:

Q5 How does Chara fire the empty pistol when it has no bullets? No reloading?! blasphemous!
A-Chara is using the sheer will of determination to be manifested into physical energy bullets to fire from the empty pistol, reloading isnt a problem when she just fires away bullets made out of pure determination.
Q6) Is that an...AT Field?!
A- It's a DT Field(Determination Field). Alphys had enjoyed this human anime from above call Evangelion and decide to use some of its scenes as inspiration while working on Mettaton NEO

He sent the letter to Alphys saying he was going to die then he committed suicide just to slow Chara down a few more minutes. We always imagine Chara/Frisk with a knife during the genocide route but I think we sometimes forget that they used other weapons too so it's kinda refreshing to see them with a different weapon this time.
Well they don't get the knife until after this fight, so it makes sense for them to have others.

Don't wait for the foe to transform, attack them while they are occupied in their sequence! DBZ foes would probably win if they just attacked while the good guys are doing that Super Saiyan shit.
I know in Dragonball Xenoverse you get knocked back if you try to, in a sense the KI flare you see when they transform acts as a barrier :P

I wish a Mettaton NEO Fight actually happened
I mean, Toby initially planned to make him a proper boss, like Undyne and Sans, but changed his mind. The reason being that he didn't wanna overwhelm the player with Mettaton Neo and Sans right next to eachother, and he wanted the player to feel invincible before reaching Sans.
Stefan Bentsen as well as him wanting the difficulties to be as limited as possible, so the player was bored and disappointed.

@@Lalapopsy There's also the fact that Mettaton was also trying to delay you like Undyne was in order for Alphys to evacuate everyone before you could kill them all. In the end the lack of a battle doesn't matter, it distracted you long enough to save lives.

Ah what a truly nostalgic time to watch this and how its aged well in terms of animation and in context of the robot body too. The robot body managing to become the [BIGGEST SHOT] there ever was even
Absolutely terrific. I'm first off super impressed with the animation quality and storyline that encompasses the lyrics by MOTI. Second, the level of detail and emotion is astounding such as the DT power level and that heartwarming message to Alphys which c'mon, is a very MTT thing to say/do. Finally, something I'm SUPER impressed with, which I don't think anyone has noticed thus far is the allusions you've made to Evangelion. At first I didn't notice because I had this looping in another tab while I studied, but when I actually watched it in full, I saw the specific way you showed the determination star, the way Chara tried to make a final claw at MTT NEO, and the self destruct. The star was a destroyed angel beacon, you gave MTT an AT field like the heroic angel he is, then the thrashing at his face, the final explosion.... Disco ball? or N2 mine accompanied by yet another beacon.
In short. Truly phenomenal.
Note: Ctrl C + V this comment here because the appraisal for the animation rightly should sit here as I was told NCh is the actual animator and not where I originally saw it

This video is probably my favourite thing on this platform, the transformating, the special effects, the horror of it. The disco laser ball scene and the sequence at the end were so chilling, both for different reasons. Laser ball was terrifying, with the jumpscare, the explosion, the laughter. While the ending was just tragic and solemn. Amazing work

Many evidences says he•she•they is the narrator who tells you stats and emotions of enemies, after his•her•their plan to wipe out humanity and freeing monsters fails, he•she•they is confused and the player, with his actions, teaches him•her•them how to conduct one's life, would it be no hurting (pacifist) or megalomaniac (genocide, killing every one on your path)

Coming back and watching this really puts into perspective how terrifying genocide Frisk must have been to even witness, let alone fight. Or at least, the way they're portrayed here demonstrates that, where in-game Frisk was probably more of an emotionless husk of determination.

Absolutely brilliant its gorgeous for one and very well done. Having the player be a undying monster is so terrifying when the perspective is swapped. Although characters like Mettaton shouldn't really know that, it doesn't matter anyways because this animation is wonderful.
I love how many people ignore the disclaimer at the beginning of the video, that clearly states it is based in an alternate universe.

Dr.Alphy's greatest invention... one of my favourite animation of my favourite character in undertale, even though it's a bit old it still shines like gold
What I have experienced fighting Spamton NEO:
Thish animation is beautiful, stunning in all regards. My only problem is the way that DT is represented; it's more like jumping back in time, rather than just popping back up from the dead. It's a nitpick I have, but othewrise that entire transformation into Mettaton NEO was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The use of color to contrast the two and put Chara in the darkness, the sparkling effects, the way the purple saturates as Mettaton gets more damaged... just, wow. This is such great animation, and outside of that one little issue, I love everything about this.
PinkiePone I personally like this Animation’s depiction of determination. It’s not how it would work in the game, but for this animation it works quite well. It gives the opportunity to show how Mettaton slowly realizes over time that there is no beating Chara, for they’ll just keep coming back good as new and stronger than before. It kinda gives this feeling of hopelessness for Mettaton, but also a sense of “woah, that’s badass” for Chara, because we know he’ll win in the end. I see what you’re saying, but I think this interpretation works quite well for the animation 🤷🏻♂️
Actualy this is an allternate universe...
It works quite well. If anything, I'm fairly certain that this is how it works in the Sans fight, as he keeps track of how many times you've died and knows if you tried to spare him.
the pessimistic potato Uhh no, Sans even said it himself that it’s basically time traveling, that’s why people have been theorizing why Sans can count how many times you died, some says he can remember previous timelines, some says he’s really good at reading facial expression.
But I do agree that it works quite well in this animation.
I'm honestly happy whenever someone remembers that Determination powers exist at all when not doing the Sans fight.

I love coming back to this animation every year.
Out of all the fanmade content for Undertale your animation here has stuck with me the best out of almost everything.
Ya know what .. I like to believe Toby Fox really did see this animation one day and all the other fan content for Mettaton NEO.. with it eventually culminating in Spamton NEO in Deltarune.
Serving as a form of fan service for giving us the battle we desperately wanted back in the day.
So yeah, I'd say this animation is partly to thank for that.
For giving NEO some animated justice, a moment for NEO to shine.
This really shines some needed light on the mettaton NEO fight, it's also really good, and has a good story behind it instead of just a battle. Like the part with blooky... that was really smart and perfectly executed.

Legendary fight between Glamor and DETERMINATION.
Even if Chara has the ability to respawn here, she must go through a lot of pain and anguish, considering what’s happening here. The pain of getting slowly killed so many times must be complete torture, humans are only supposed to go through that kind of pain once, not 50 times.
I mean if we looking at the game through non player situation that must be determination, to go through it again and again. That power always stand out for me from others and I can't help but think how strong Frisk/Chara are :)

I think Mettaton is my favorite Undertale character, and I’m upset because the games make it seem like he’s not apart of the main gang (which is understandable, he’s both the most gimmicky and most violent). But I’m glad you not only gave him an awesome transformation sequence, you also gave him an end that was deserving of his status.

It was probably the amount of strength Chara/Frisk put into the throw. This is the Genocide route, and they have some decently high LV (at this point with Mettaton at least)

The Alphys and Mettaton interaction almost brought me to tears. The subtle and fast sending of the message during the fight then Alphys reading it later. The monster helping Alphys keep walking.... This is what Mettaton deserves, a glorious moment. Wow.
