Mettaton actually did what most Japanese Superheroes don't and actually used something to stop the Villain from interrupting his long dramatic Transformation.
Gotta appreciate the use of the Burnt Pan instead of the Real Knife, as the Burnt Pan is the strongest weapon available at that point in the game Edit: yes, I forgot the Empty Gun, you can all stop replying about it now
We always imagine Chara/Frisk with a knife during the genocide route but I think we sometimes forget that they used other weapons too so it's kinda refreshing to see them with a different weapon this time.
I mean, Toby initially planned to make him a proper boss, like Undyne and Sans, but changed his mind. The reason being that he didn't wanna overwhelm the player with Mettaton Neo and Sans right next to eachother, and he wanted the player to feel invincible before reaching Sans.

Many evidences says he•she•they is the narrator who tells you stats and emotions of enemies, after his•her•their plan to wipe out humanity and freeing monsters fails, he•she•they is confused and the player, with his actions, teaches him•her•them how to conduct one's life, would it be no hurting (pacifist) or megalomaniac (genocide, killing every one on your path)
Coming back and watching this really puts into perspective how terrifying genocide Frisk must have been to even witness, let alone fight. Or at least, the way they're portrayed here demonstrates that, where in-game Frisk was probably more of an emotionless husk of determination.
I'm pretty sure Mettaton controls them, and that he managed to control it to go in front of him in the nick of time. But, I could be wrong, that's just my theory. c:

Don't wait for the foe to transform, attack them while they are occupied in their sequence! DBZ foes would probably win if they just attacked while the good guys are doing that Super Saiyan shit.
This really shines some needed light on the mettaton NEO fight, it's also really good, and has a good story behind it instead of just a battle. Like the part with blooky... that was really smart and perfectly executed.

Thish animation is beautiful, stunning in all regards. My only problem is the way that DT is represented; it's more like jumping back in time, rather than just popping back up from the dead. It's a nitpick I have, but othewrise that entire transformation into Mettaton NEO was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The use of color to contrast the two and put Chara in the darkness, the sparkling effects, the way the purple saturates as Mettaton gets more damaged... just, wow. This is such great animation, and outside of that one little issue, I love everything about this.
PinkiePone I personally like this Animation’s depiction of determination. It’s not how it would work in the game, but for this animation it works quite well. It gives the opportunity to show how Mettaton slowly realizes over time that there is no beating Chara, for they’ll just keep coming back good as new and stronger than before. It kinda gives this feeling of hopelessness for Mettaton, but also a sense of “woah, that’s badass” for Chara, because we know he’ll win in the end. I see what you’re saying, but I think this interpretation works quite well for the animation 🤷🏻♂️
It works quite well. If anything, I'm fairly certain that this is how it works in the Sans fight, as he keeps track of how many times you've died and knows if you tried to spare him.
the pessimistic potato Uhh no, Sans even said it himself that it’s basically time traveling, that’s why people have been theorizing why Sans can count how many times you died, some says he can remember previous timelines, some says he’s really good at reading facial expression. But I do agree that it works quite well in this animation.

This video is probably my favourite thing on this platform, the transformating, the special effects, the horror of it. The disco laser ball scene and the sequence at the end were so chilling, both for different reasons. Laser ball was terrifying, with the jumpscare, the explosion, the laughter. While the ending was just tragic and solemn. Amazing work

Absolutely terrific. I'm first off super impressed with the animation quality and storyline that encompasses the lyrics by MOTI. Second, the level of detail and emotion is astounding such as the DT power level and that heartwarming message to Alphys which c'mon, is a very MTT thing to say/do. Finally, something I'm SUPER impressed with, which I don't think anyone has noticed thus far is the allusions you've made to Evangelion. At first I didn't notice because I had this looping in another tab while I studied, but when I actually watched it in full, I saw the specific way you showed the determination star, the way Chara tried to make a final claw at MTT NEO, and the self destruct. The star was a destroyed angel beacon, you gave MTT an AT field like the heroic angel he is, then the thrashing at his face, the final explosion.... Disco ball? or N2 mine accompanied by yet another beacon. In short. Truly phenomenal. Note: Ctrl C + V this comment here because the appraisal for the animation rightly should sit here as I was told NCh is the actual animator and not where I originally saw it
The Alphys and Mettaton interaction almost brought me to tears. The subtle and fast sending of the message during the fight then Alphys reading it later. The monster helping Alphys keep walking.... This is what Mettaton deserves, a glorious moment. Wow.
Well... We see frisk grunt or scream on every blow they take, meaning that this won't do anything to the player's progression, but damn, i bet it hurt like hell.

Wait a minute you're the guy who did this? Holy crap I remember you from my cringy undertale phase (which I thankfully grew out of, thank god). Damn rewatching this now it's just as awesome as I remember, but now I can appreciate it more since I actually know how hard putting something like this together is. Amazing job on everything here, seriously.
This animation really captures that raw fluidity and impact that makes fight scenes so much more tense and enjoyable to watch, and I feel a lot of fanimations forget that. This has to be one of my favorite Undertale fan works on TH-cam, so congrats.
Yeah, they were going for that 'unstoppable force' kind of feel. Not so much 'infinite retries' as it is 'infinite resurrection.' I'd say they did damn well.
I imagine that this happened after so many genocide runs. Sans couldn't stand by idly any longer, so Sans told everyone about the kid. He told Alphys about the kid's plan and in this time line, Alphys worked to complete Mettaton.
PhatGar Sans doesn’t know about what happens when you reset timelines. NOBODY KNOWS BUT FLOWEY. Sans just knows that Flowey and you have the power to reset.
That was amazing, but oh god, did it hurt more than I expected... Mettaton doing everything he desperately can just to stall the human, only to ultimately fail because of the SAVE. You made Mettaton NEO epic as all hell, and the details from his POV were great to see. This is what the fight should've been (from what I've seen in playthroughs, it's up in one attack). And then that final ending... YES!
I love coming back to this animation every year. Out of all the fanmade content for Undertale your animation here has stuck with me the best out of almost everything. Ya know what .. I like to believe Toby Fox really did see this animation one day and all the other fan content for Mettaton NEO.. with it eventually culminating in Spamton NEO in Deltarune. Serving as a form of fan service for giving us the battle we desperately wanted back in the day. So yeah, I'd say this animation is partly to thank for that. For giving NEO some animated justice, a moment for NEO to shine.
This animation is one of the best I have ever seen. I cried at the very last moment, as usual. Never in the middle of the animation, no. AT THE END. But thank you for letting me express my emotions.
Chara (at least in fan explorations of the concept) is seriously my favorite video game character at this point, because they're a manifestation of the moral detachment of a typical RPG player (as well as their ultimate invincibility due to their SAVE and LOAD capabilities) set in a world where every monster is a legitimate person, and this makes Chara fucking terrifying in-context from the perspective of the monsters. An unkillable demon with a penchant for mass murder... yeah, that's scary. The scariest part? IT'S *YOU.*

Absolutely brilliant its gorgeous for one and very well done. Having the player be a undying monster is so terrifying when the perspective is swapped. Although characters like Mettaton shouldn't really know that, it doesn't matter anyways because this animation is wonderful.
But can't you see it doesn't matter? We'll get used to the attack pattern. Even someone called "the undying" can't do anything, and you know why. Cause they aren't fighting their enemy, their fighting their enemy's puppet.
I can't see why not. Don't let game mechanics stop your imagination because they mostly unreliable (empty gun shooting, locker being an armor etc etc) I think it's not meant to be taking literally. But it's just my opinion tho, you do you.

I have watched a *LOT* of undertale animations but this one takes the absolute fucking cake of it all. A lot of the other animations focus TOO much on stiff character designs and "looking good" and fail to take sound design and action flow in consideration. This one is the most breathtaking consistent and most "professional" animation on Undertale I've seen so far. Amazing work. Listening with headphones on, is when the excellent mixing and sound design shows. Good job! This is thr new standard I will hold all UT animations to.

This really shines some needed light on the mettaton NEO fight, it's also really good, and has a good story behind it instead of just a battle. Like the part with blooky... that was really smart and perfectly executed.

Thish animation is beautiful, stunning in all regards. My only problem is the way that DT is represented; it's more like jumping back in time, rather than just popping back up from the dead. It's a nitpick I have, but othewrise that entire transformation into Mettaton NEO was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The use of color to contrast the two and put Chara in the darkness, the sparkling effects, the way the purple saturates as Mettaton gets more damaged... just, wow. This is such great animation, and outside of that one little issue, I love everything about this.
PinkiePone I personally like this Animation’s depiction of determination. It’s not how it would work in the game, but for this animation it works quite well. It gives the opportunity to show how Mettaton slowly realizes over time that there is no beating Chara, for they’ll just keep coming back good as new and stronger than before. It kinda gives this feeling of hopelessness for Mettaton, but also a sense of “woah, that’s badass” for Chara, because we know he’ll win in the end. I see what you’re saying, but I think this interpretation works quite well for the animation 🤷🏻♂️

It works quite well. If anything, I'm fairly certain that this is how it works in the Sans fight, as he keeps track of how many times you've died and knows if you tried to spare him.

The disco laser ball scene and the sequence at the end were so chilling, both for different reasons. Laser ball was terrifying, with the jumpscare, the explosion, the laughter. Absolutely terrific. I'm first off super impressed with the animation quality and storyline that encompasses the lyrics by MOTI. Second, the level of detail and emotion is astounding such as the DT power level and that heartwarming message to Alphys which c'mon, is a very MTT thing to say/do. Finally, something I'm SUPER impressed with, which I don't think anyone has noticed thus far is the allusions you've made to Evangelion. At first I didn't notice because I had this looping in another tab while I studied, but when I actually watched it in full, I saw the specific way you showed the determination star, the way Chara tried to make a final claw at MTT NEO, and the self destruct. The star was a destroyed angel beacon, you gave MTT an AT field like the heroic angel he is, then the thrashing at his face, the final explosion.... Disco ball? or N2 mine accompanied by yet another beacon.
In short. Truly phenomenal.

That was amazing, but oh god, did it hurt more than I expected... Mettaton doing everything he desperately can just to stall the human, only to ultimately fail because of the SAVE. You made Mettaton NEO epic as all hell, and the details from his POV were great to see. This is what the fight should've been (from what I've seen in playthroughs, it's up in one attack).

I have watched a *LOT* of undertale animations but this one takes the absolute fucking cake of it all.
A lot of the other animations focus TOO much on stiff character designs and "looking good" and fail to take sound design and action flow in consideration.
This one is the most breathtaking consistent and most "professional" animation on Undertale I've seen so far. Amazing work. Listening with headphones on, is when the excellent mixing and sound design shows.
