So he's taking us to Thailand in October, and he keeps telling us he's going to take us to Phuket, and from the looks of it from your video I don't think he's been there in a while. I still miss Thailand. Had some of the best times ever there. That was back in 2007 when i last visited. I'm still tempted to go back now one day at 45. But I just know it wouldn't be the same.

Did anybody notice how clean the streets are?
For the most part it's fairly hard to find even a single piece of paper or other kinds of trash on the ground.
They are very clean. I visited before the pandemic and every place we visited was absolutely spotless. Very nice to see. They obviously take pride in their city.

Chris you are in one of the most beautiful country's in this world. Thailand is very close to my heart. I love Phuket. I have been there 10 times and twice to Koh Samui. Only one thing I regret foreigners are not allowed to buy property in Thailand. By the way I am Victor from Perth. The Poms and Aussies sometime make it bad for themselves, by drinking too much. Everything in moderation is welcome. Have a nice time. I will be in Koh Samui next year.

Yes I did. Stayed in the Surin beach area at The Surin. Amazing place and would go back. Got into the city itself twice. Was fun but preferred the laid back environment of my hotel.

Excellent Video. I have been to Patong Beach numerous times but not since 2011 (Im going later this year though). The road itself looks in much better order than it was before. Interesting to see the cannibis Bars and actually surprising as Thailand has always had such strict rules on recreational drugs. I have been in all the Soi's but again they have been modernised which is good. A favourite in the past was Tiger Disco and the bars below it. There was a big fire a number of years ago where it burnt down and several people sadly died. I believe it has reopened on the other side of the street (left hand side going towards the beach). It's also nice to walk down Nanai road at the end of Bangla Road where it was not as busy but still had loads of little bars, restaurants, Nightclubs and the Jung Ceylon shopping centre. You covered some of the excellent seafood restaurants. From experience we found some excellent small restaurants off the main tourist streets at a fraction of the price. The food is excellent although westerners need to be prepared for the culture shock as they don't look like restaurants we would be used to but definitely worth eating in. Just look for where the Thai People eat and you will be pleasantly surprised.

When I go abroad I try to never barter unless I know it’s really overpriced, everyone is just trying to get through life as best they can, if we can pass on generosity and positive outcomes we all should. I’m a believer that our purpose in life is to serve each other one way or another.

I love Thailand. An Aussie by the name of Michael Barret and had a business in BKK importing hovercraft from Australia and retro fitting them with rescue booms to rescue people in the flood zone up north during rainy season. We kicked ass with the business but one thing I overlooked was Michael Barrett was a hothead. He lost his cool in the tax office due to they constantly changed the rules and turned over a desk in the tax office, was arrested, I bailed him out and he was deported leaving our business penniless. Osprey Trading Company our company was banned.

I mean it was so much better 20 years ago of course, the nightlife was very,very interesting.
And it pretty much always been safe.
The last time I was in Patong was around 2015.
Bangla has changed a bit since then, but it will always change, that's Thailand before and now will always be different.
You think there is a lot of people there now.
Well middle to late 90,s and early 2000,s absolutely thriving.
You could hardly move walking down that street most nights were like New Years Eve.
Seriously full on mate. Most Soi,s were full of people drinking.
And drinks were reasonably priced.
Which still looks the same for tourists.
Although to buy a lady drinks, if your not careful can be extremely overpriced.
Probably up until about 2011 or 12 it was okay but now ladies drinks are ridiculously expensive.
Each to their own of course your only seeing what's happening now in front of you.
That's why you learn and do your best, but if you want my point of view it has nothing on 18 to 20 years ago.
Vibe then much more relaxed and comfortable and surely more affordable.

Yup, mid to late 90's were my party days. I could party 24 hrs. straight. Now at 61, I never thought I'd get tired of the nightlife, but a good night for me is hitting Starbucks at 10PM on a weekend night. I missed out on the fun in Thailand. Wish I could go back in time.

Still have a great time, but I avoid the night clubs.
Just normal bars and live music bars, are my go.
And seriously if you keep a little bit fit with exercises and walking around swimming.
You usually can hang for a bit, the trick I learnt from 1 mate from America, was just Beach, or bedroom entertainment from 12 or 1pm and then have a few beers around 5 to 7 or 8 sleep or something with a lady until 10 or 11 pm then go out for 2 or 3 hours.
Besides that's when all the fun starts. Cheers.
