I've been trying to teach my son some chess techniques following your pawn endgame videos, and as I was explaining "trousers" to him, he surprised me with a genius analogy he uses to conceptualize it. He thinks of the position as "leaky pipes", where water (the pawns) is dripping down the pipes (open files), and the opponent's King is trying to catch the water drops with a bucket so his floor doesn't get wet (pawns promote). It seemed so intuitive and simple that we call it 'leaky pipes' now instead of trousers.

Great game Danya with lovely explanation & analyzing as always. That quote of yours, brilliant: "Im struggling also with these kind of positions, the only person who don't struggle is Magnus" xD Keep up your great vids and work along with the chess games. Cheers!
Good game. That rook trap was really instructive. I haven't seen that before. I'd like to see some more content covering some of the really classic games, those are great.
18:39 Taking the extra pawn on a7 actually looks quite dangerous because there might be ideas of c6 which restricts the light-squared bishop’s escape squares and black might gain quite a bit of activity on the queenside. Maybe Bxa7 c6 and immediately Be3? Retreating everything? Idk.
Nice, so after 10 tactical moves extremely difficult to see you finally punish your opponent. Very instructive video tho, I think his videos are actually the ones I learn the most!

You should rebrand the Jobava london course and start referring to it as the Jobava system from now on. I've tried recommending it to friends and everyone assumes that it is a boring opening because of the "london" part of the name.
I thought the same at first, but then I realized this game addresses my difficulty to punish trolling openings. it's a very interesting theme. besides, the rook trap is quite nice to learn.
I also had my doubts about investing time but I did and find it instructive again. More often than not, games turn out to be outside of conventional theory and you have to adept to that. This helps improve my thinking process, probably a lot. (had my best chess night ever yesterday).
Im struggling to explain. When his opponent wins or loses his opponent is gaining or losing hundreds of elo at a time cuz he doesnt have enough games played yet, and so his rating isnt really a true reflection of his strength.
"provision" is providing/supplying.. when you're a new player in a pool of players, it's not clear what your elo should be, but you're provided with some elo, and it will take some games before it settles to a more accurate elo.
Did anyone else hear crackling with the audio ? Not sure if it was the mic or something else but it wasn’t my side since his other videos played fine 😊

Oooh yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one haha.
What does it mean? That he likes the game?

Can we get a speedrun with only Russian school boy moves?
The Sensei Speedrun, at least till the point he got bored and started playing Smith Morra
Well the point of these speedrun videos is to function like a chess learning library so its probably no from danya but still lmao
I d prefer a speedrun with only Danya style moves, where he just goes crazy at every game and sacrifice as many pieces as possible.
Then Russian school girl next
Actually this speedrun which began as the Top Theory speedrun was supposed to be as such
One of the best ways to start a day is to watch your speed run game, thank you Danya.
I love that the way to beat a silly opening is not to flail at him and help him develop, but to simply be better and exploit his weaknesses.
Yeah don't give in to the mind games.
Jeez, the way you remember old ideas and track the whole board so well is amazing

Those finals moves man, totally disarmed the opponent.
those tactics at the end just amazing

Enjoyed this game. Cheers to the opponent for playing that opening....thx!

When I consider 1…f6, I like to think of it as the key move of a mirrored Caro-Kann system: 1.d4 f6.
Well it still serious game after 3 move lol

First ever bongcloud game in a danya speed run?
Danya actually played the bongcloud himself. He also was from the black side and it was a queen's gambit if I'm not mistaken.

Totally against the clinical nature of the speedrun but.....I was heartbroken to not see King E2 in response 😭
This is the dongcloud technically Danya
At my level, people hunt pawns, attack a weakness and clamp down on the position, hoping to bore me to a loss. What am I missing?
What openings are you playing for white and black?
What’s your rating?
They are just playing good chess
If you say this while being under 2000 that would be funny.
I have 3 words for you. Kings Gambit
Danya really pulled him apart by the limbs in the last 6 moves, wow.
