Everlast ruined some of their reputation with this glove. if anything they should've just revamped their current MX equipment line such as including more colors or a customization feature for the gloves. The MX 1 training glove is one of if not the BEST TRAINING GLOVES OF ALL TIME in my opinion. I recently picked up a pair of the MX1 gloves and they're a significantly more comfortable than they already were originally which is great. So I would recommend picking up a pair of the 16oz or 14 oz laceup MX1 Gloves

Totally agree, bro! I am a fan of MX1 and think they are among the best Mexican training gloves and more comfortable than Reyes. So I had high expectation to purchase an MX2 no long ago. And just like most of the reviewers conclusion, these are the most terrible pair of gloves I've tried these two years and if this is the trend of MX line, Everlast could really shut down their glove design department...by just simply creating more colors on MX1 is a much better choice for this product line indeed...

I think the lace up models give better wrist support. My son has a pair of the blacked out MX2 lace ups 16oz and he loves them. Caught them on sale for 160.00. I personally stay away from velcro.

Can you give your understanding what a mexican glove is? what attributes does it need to have to be called a mexican glove?
Also, why would someone get a mexican glove? What do they hope to get?

That is a great question. Gloves are considered mexican style or "puncher's gloves" for a few reasons. Mexican gloves are obviously made in Mexico and the history books show that the Mexican style of boxing means you throw A LOT of punches. The original fight glove made by Reyes (my favorite example) used horse hair which was a soft and malleable material that has a nice crack and recoil to it. It didn't nor does it still that often provide the best padding, but the boxer loves it because throwing a lot of punches without that much padding will do a ton of damage over time. Also, most punchers do not have hand problems in my opinion anyway. That's why guys like Ali, Pacquaio, Marquez, Chavez, De La Hoya, and many others used punchers gloves, just watch their styles. Training gloves often use latex or some kind of springy foam that is thin but protected over the knuckles in an attempt to replicate horse hair to a certain extent. So long story short, Mexican gloves were made to have the user throw multiple punches. Good example to explain why people love fighting in punchers gloves, watch Manny Pacquaio vs Morales 1. Pacquaio was forced to wear winning and for whatever reason Pacquaio couldn't score a knockdown. Winnings are very very soft gloves. 2nd and 3rd fight he used Reyes and absolutely thwomped Morales. I hope this answered your question!

@@combat_corp I feel like they do 2 things, one just make 1 singular good training gloves (powerlocks) and 2. They just concentrate on fight gloves which isn't bad but if you're gonna release training gloves...make it so we actually train in them...
