    imagine how the kids who grew up with these vlogging families are going to be affected in the future. Raising your kid in that type of environment isn't healthy at all.

    • @fridakahlo4225

      I guess, in some ways it is. In the country I live in, mothers like to show off their cute babies in social media to get likes and comments. Sometimes if the baby gets enough attention, they start to promote brands for money. That might not be the case with those family vloggers mentioned in the video, but they are still exposing their children to a very toxic crowd for the sake of views. Children are not able to protect themselves. And they were not free to choose. Most likely, some of them are going to blame their parents for ruining their childhood. They are stripped of the right to stay anonymous and live a normal life by their most loved ones.

    • @CGingerbreadman

      No I don’t think you are old fashioned. I don’t agree with parents posting everything their children say and do online for everyone to see, not thinking about how what they’re doing could affect their children’s future when they’re older/adults. They seem to use their children as cash cow’s without thinking about their children’s mental health, wellbeing and futures!?! What if an employer comes across one of these videos and judges them on that content alone? Also sex offenders getting off on watching the children and end up stalking them!?! To me it’s wrong especially when the children aren’t old enough to consent or understand the consequences of their parents actions. I have never posted a single photo or video of any of my children online and I never will. When they’re old enough to consent and understand the consequences of their actions and behavior of just one post that they might think is harmless now comes back to haunt them in their adulthood then they can have social media accounts. My two oldest twins (I’ve got six children three of each genders, two sets of twins my oldest two and youngest two aged between 15 years and 6 years old.) are 15 years old and they’ve been told that they can open an account if they want too? And both of them have said that they’re not interested in opening any social media accounts because they enjoy their privacy and me and their father support their decision 100%. Ive actually had to report people who post photos or videos with any of my children in that I’ve seen online that strangers have posted, because I’ve got a service animal which is a fully trained, registered and certified that’s a cat because I suffer from chronic PTSD and severe anxiety and she helps me keep them under control. And because she walks like a dog on leash and safety harness and we take her for walks downtown in LA or on hiking trails people take photos or videos of her without permission (something that really pisses me off!) and post them online again without permission and most of the time one, some or all my children are also in the photos and videos and because I don’t post anything of them online and don’t allow family members and friends post them online strangers sure as hell definitely aren’t going to get away with posting anything with them in online and I report anything I see with my children in and get them removed. And because my cat is the only one that we know of that gets seen walking on a leash in downtown LA on the main boulevards and that’s normally what’s in the titles or some part of the posts it makes it easier to find the photos and videos of her and get them removed. If your children or child isn’t old enough to consent and understand the consequences then the parents should know better than to exploit their children and use them for views, likes, shares and making money. They’re children let them live and grow up like a normal child. I don’t watch these family blogging channels because I think they’re wrong. And all the reports that’s now coming to light regarding child abuse with a lot of these bloggers just reenforce my beliefs that they shouldn’t be doing them!?!

    • @nowandaround312
      @nowandaround312 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@harley7836 I completely agree with everything you said except for one point. You said it really pisses you off when people take videos of your cat without asking first, but if you choose to go out into public then you're giving up the right to some of your privacy. It's unfortunate, but if we were required to get permission before taking pictures/videos which contain a stranger, then people wouldn't be able to document so many important moments with friends and family (because there were other people in the background of the shot), the world would never see evidence of police brutality, and funny moments such as cats being walked like dogs wouldn't be able to bring smiles to thousands of people. However, if the images contain your kids then people should blur out their faces before uploading.

      Which is, in my opinion, more sociologically toxic than any of the others. Yes, it's dumb to watch these dumb people do these dumb things in their dumb lives for views from other dumb people, but there's no question how incredibly vapid the whole concept is; even the fans of that dumb content will admit it's nothing but dumb entertainment. Video essays are something else, though. You have unqualified people pretending to be qualified to make informed analysis, saturating discourse with dumb analysis posing as informed analysis, having the effect of making analysis in general dumber. Dumb being dumb for dumb's sake is just dumb; dumb posing as smart is the downfall of civilization.

      @@allycookie2009 I think smaller channels and most. Moms do it like that. But would about that family that told their little girl they're giving their dog away so they can caught up her reaction on camera and when the poor kid said multiple times don't film me they continued. Terrible parenting in my opinion. But I do believe most of the channels are normal

      animayyy I can relate a little. I had a strange family life that wasn’t normal and not very happy. So watching a family such as the Shaytards which are so loving and they did normal family things, together. I started watching them when I was about 9-10 years old so I grew up with them a lil. They morphed me into a person and I grew up with their morals and then the scandal happened and it did upset me because it felt like it had happened in my family. It’s terrible and I’m not proud of it at all but it’s an escape. It’s a distraction from the bullshit and a look at a “normal” family if you don’t have your own.

These kids can’t have a bad day, be sad, go through puberty without the world watching and judging them through a lens. It breaks my heart. Obviously not all of them are like that, but I have a feeling those that are will be sued by their children when they’re older.

      @FlyingMonkies325 I've always been housebound and virtually alone, so hypothetically social media as a form of connecting is better than nothing, yet I still couldn't get into it. People just post boring stuff, yet everyone has the time in the day to look at their boring posts. Does no one have actual lives or something better to do instead?

    • @disorganizedclutter5513
      @disorganizedclutter5513 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @FlyingMonkies325 I was thinking about this lately. It seemed to me that everyone else I know makes friends that last, but I get forgotten easily like in your club/pub example. And I keep wondering what do I have to do to be interesting enough that people care about me. Maybe it isn't just me who gets forgotten and it's just a normal phenomena now. But I think people still get something socially from the social media thing, like they still feel connected, albeit superficially, otherwise why would they be so interested in all the trivial things a person does in a day or mundane pics of them? There's more entertaining things to do online....so there's gotta be something more meaningful to the social media "friendship" thing for them. Why they prefer that to just having a conversation in person, I don't know.
      Quarantine is also going to force some people to spend more time with the people they live with (if they don't live alone). Maybe they'll get bored and start more conversation with each other. Or maybe some people will call up people they know. I don't think it'll necessarily make the social media lifestyle worse .

      I don't think people like watching vlogs only because the vloggers are having exciting experiences. sometimes viewers want to feel as if they are part of a family. Regular exposure to someone's life, no matter how ordinary, builds up a sense of friendship. there was a woman who regularly taped herself unloading her groceries - that was it - and a little housecleaning. She was very popular, believe it or not. It's like having a friend you are skyping - only it's a one-way conversation.
